Wow..! This month has been so amazingly busy, hasn't it? Especially with all of these Pokemon! I've never been able to explore so far for alchemy ingredients, but my new friends do so well keeping me safe. I hope that they stay a while.

Oh! But but. With it being summer, I've got to start rrrreally gathering ingredients and storing them for winter. Otherwise, I can't make as much with my alchemia when the plants die. I don't know if anyone is looking for work, but I'm hiring another adventurer for the AlcheMagia Workshop! Is anyone interested? I'd be really grateful if I could hire someone before summer ends.

The same for apprenticeships! If anyone wants to learn an extra skill, please consider alchemia! I even put together a whole lesson plan! I think it'd take like... four... six months, to teach the basics? And then you can open your own workshop, and make your own stuff, and teach more people, and then they can teach people, and then...! (giggle) Wouldn't it be great?

I'm gonna give samples at the shop this week, so please! Stop by and see what sort of amazing stuff you could learn to make!

[Hoping to attract new apprentices and customers alike, Silicon is handing out free samples at the workshop. She has a tray of small glass vials, each containing a different coloured liquid. Whenever someone slows down to take a peek, she launches into an excited explanation.]

He~llo! Are you interested in alchemia? [She holds up the tray.] I'm handing out samples today. The blue ones are a seasickness medicine, and the green ones are for brushing your teeth! Oh, and those yellow ones are a natural shampoo. And the red ones are for putting on burns. They're super basic recipes, but also crazy effective! Want one?

An adventurer, huh? I assume they are the ones who go out to gather what you need, correct?

[Belle was admittedly a little interested in that aspect. She wanted to hone her skills a little bit more. Be the hero she always wanted to be.]

Yes, ma'am! There are some things that I just don't have time to get all on my own. Like dragon scales or minerals from dangerous locations. Because it's such hard work, I'm gonna do my best to pay fairly. Oh, and I'll supply potions and stuff too!

[She bit her lip slightly as she was thinking over what she was going to say next or what she wanted to do. Sure she was one that wanted to be a hero and helping someone out with this type of thing counts, right?]

Then I will be happy to help. Though I will admit I try and think over how I will get it in the best possible way.

I appreciate that so much! Oh! Do you need anything? I don't just make potions for healing. They can be practical for adventuring too!

I've never really used much in terms for adventuring. So can you explain what practical items you are on about?

Really? Well! For example, I can make items that will nullify spellwork or cure poisons. There are things for climbing mountains, clearing obstacles, even freezing lakes so that they can be crossed... Those sorts of things.

So you can make things for pretty much any type of situation. I know potions can do quite a bit, but never the extent.

You need an adventurer? What does an adventurer do?

Yes, I do! The adventurers I hire would be collecting rare materials for my alchemy. Sometimes I can't leave the cauldrons brewing or don't have time for a six hour hike, on top of running the shop.

Oh, I might be able to do that! I'm a dragon, so I can fly to places quickly, and go into small areas. I'm not very strong, though, so I won't be able to carry anything heavy...

And I wouldn't need money either, because there's nothing I really need to buy...

Wow, really? Hey, hey. Can you even talk to the other dragons?

[Silly's face lights up at her own idea.]

See! I wanted to work with dragon scales sometime, and maybe make like... Scale shiner! Or dragon toothpaste! Or medicines for them. But I can't explain it to them, or ask nicely for the scales that fall off on their own.

I can talk to the dragons...anyone can, really. They can understand our language, even if they don't speak it. So you need...dragon scales? I think I can gather some...I don't think they'll mind me borrowing the scales that fall off.

[It would keep their lairs a little cleaner, anyway.]

You want to make scale shiner? Like, something to clean them, or to make them glitter?

[She points to her head, where her scales seem glittery.]

Can they really? I wonder what they've been saying to me, then... Admittedly, I ran away every time they roared because it frightened me...

Oh, but yes yes. I was thinking like... A polish, maybe! Something to leave their scales refreshed. Do you use polish to get so shiny?

I couldn't guess what they were saying. I don't quite know how to identify their sounds or gestures...but Daenerys might.

If you're going to make scale polish for dragons, you're going to need a lot of it. Most dragons are much bigger than I am...

I haven't used any kind of polish for my scales. They've always sparkled like this ever since I hatched from my egg. I don't know why, though...

Daenerys... Does she communicate with dragons too? Does that mean she is also a dragon? I'll admit, I haven't met many dragons who could talk to me while in Fayren.

Oh, Miss Silicon, if you need someone to go out and gather for you, I'd be happy to do it!

[ Even happy seems like a bit of an understatement in that respect – she looks practically gleeful at the prospect. ]

Are you sure? I, of course, would want to pay you for your efforts. Oh, but are you planning to open a workshop once you're settled? It's such a treat!

Surer than sure! Like I said, I'm going to be doing a lot of exploring and gathering anyway while I'm here, so it makes sense for me to help you while I'm doing it.

As for a workshop... I'm really not sure! It's fun to think about, though. I might wait until I can see what kind of materials there are around here before I decide.

I would like to implore you to consider it! If we both had workshops, we could fulfill more demands quickly-- and I'm sure you have some solutions that I cannot even imagine at my level. I only just picked up alchemia two years ago, actually, so I'm quite new to it myself!

[One woman happened to be passing through, before she stopped and looked over the samples.]

Might this unit ask what the scents are on the shampoo?

Oh, and was this the place that was advertising for adventurers?

[Silicon recognizes her speech pattern from the network. Balancing the tray of samples on one hand, she picks up a vial of shampoo and offers it to Nissei.]

I made this one using rose. Floral scents are easy to make, so I hoped to excite some potential apprentices. [Oh! She nods,] Yes, it is! Do you like adventuring?

... This unit would say it rather depends. However, it is capable at the role; besides healing and enhancement magics, it is trained in combat, specialized in defensive techniques using a sword and shield. A "knight disciple", it believes was a phrase for it?

Well. I could definitely use help. You see, alchemy requires both raw ingredients and a lot of time. I can't be away from the shop when sensitive things are brewing, so I was hoping to hire another adventurer to help gather ingredients when I'm busy. Or even... get the things I'm too weak to acquire on my own.

This unit appreciates the compliment, and understands the kinds of quests you may wish to assign this unit.

This unit has yet to be brought to the service of a proper master, which is a point of concern given... Well, this unit believes you saw the full tale.

Honestly, it might be close enough? You do not seem like your personality fundamentally clashes with the defaults of this unit, meaning less need to adjust this unit's programming to put this unit to good use.

On the other hand, you absolutely would come into it with specific values, and this unit does not want to cause a situation where your actions would clash with them.

Hmm... Well! If it'll help you, Essei, then I would love to. How about this? Since you'll be a great help to me around the workshop, I'll do my best to learn to help you as well. If we do that and the relationship remains mutually beneficial, I think I would feel better? Does that work?

This would work. However, this unit should make clear what this would mean.

In this unit's haversack, it has a notebook which contains control codes for this unit. Speaking the first set of codes, intentionally, will attune this unit, making you its master. From that point on, except for self-preservation and some specific edge-cases related to Uloan facilities that will not come up here, this unit will be bound to obey your commands - even if they clash with or change this unit's wishes and behaviors.

It doesn't mean you have to do anything, but it absolutely means you will be able to with pretty much no fetters - indeed, this unit will be actively happy to follow such orders. This unit understands that most civilizations would find this abhorrent; the full warning is to ensure you're okay with having that kind of power over this unit even given that.

As for the living situation, that could be your choice - this unit does not need a lot of space, as long as it has a bed, toilet or equivalent, and a sink or something usable as such.

So, please correct me if I'm wrong. By reading the codes, I'll be able to help guide you and keep those evil things from taking over, right? Then we can work together. You won't mind if I make requests as a master, and we can figure out together what is most appropriate? I don't want to make you do things that you're not comfortable with, but if adventuring is up your alleyway then it would be a huge help.

This is correct. However, to clarify... With the codes in place, while this unit's capabilities may limit it's ability to, say, operate stealthily, 'comfort' isn't an entirely applicable concept. It will follow all commands to the best of its ability, possibly after a warning and with occasional commentary.

That is the fundamental advantage of Android and Gynoid lines. We are capable of creative action and initiative, but do not depend on the same psychology as normal folks - no hangups in the way of following commands as best we can.

The samples I have here are the sorts of things someone can make with... sayyy... One or two months of training. They're made with super basic alchemia techniques!

So can just anyone learn such a thing? Or do you need special requirements?

[Takeru was curious, but it was more for story purposes. It was always better to be realistic as possible when it came to writing out certain things. So learning something like this was always a possibly good idea.]

You bet! Alchemia is a skill that can be learned. It's all about unlocking power that already exists in the world, and using it to create new powers.

Would you like to try an experiment? They're quick and easy to demonstrate.

I am interested in at least gaining an understanding of how it works.

[He had his reasons, mostly that way it's at least accurate should he ever write about alchemy in any novels he is writing. Better to learn and understanding since it really exists than try and make stuff up and get it wrong.]

Is employing sorcery necessary? If not, I'd be interested. How much for tuition?
