[As the video starts, Mewtwo can be seen back in Fayren, surrounded by as serene a picture he could find. He didn't like politics, but it was an easily manipulable image he could produce. He was seated cross-legged on the ground, looking into the camera as it floated in front of him.]
It has recently come to my attention that the window for voting on the guardianship of Fayren is now open. I would encourage all to vote, and should there be any questions regarding the issues, I would gladly answer them in this venue. Also, I would like to take this opportunity to invite Azula - my opponent - to join me here, so as to remove both of ourselves from the voting process, ensuring neither of us have any hand in manipulating, intimidating, or otherwise coercing the outcome in our favor.

video;
[Mewtwo is met by a smiling blond face, Richard's enthusiastic charms just about radiating off of him. Mewtwo may or may not be blinded by his beauty. (Probably not.)]
I've never witnessed an election firsthand myself, the idea is fascinating to me. How does one determine their ability to rule if they are not born into the role, sir?
[He's not even questioning the weird monster thing that's talking to him. Being whisked away to another world meant strange changes, after all!]
video;
By evaluating track records and credentials. Whoever has the talent to change what needs to be changed in a timely manner for the benefit of all. Of course, the election is a majority rule. The candidate that receives the most votes wins.
The implication is that the most qualified for the job would be picked by the majority.
[Being artificially created without a sense of beauty or any kind of libido helps him remain completely and utterly unimpressed with the man's smile.]
permavid;
[Richard is a king in his homeland, this is all a bit difficult to grasp.]
permavid;
Usually, there are procedures in place to provide the people with a way of removing those who are unqualified or abuse their positions, yes. However, I'm unsure as to how those work in this place.
no subject
Of course, I'm not assuming you're a terrible candidate, I'm simple unsure of the rules.
no subject
I would prefer to have faith in the people that they choose the best suited candidate for the job.
[In reality, he's got contingency plans, most of which involve moving to one of the other cities.]
no subject
[Ah, then he realizes...]
I've yet to introduce myself, please forgive my rudeness. My name is Richard.
no subject
And you may call me Mewtwo.
no subject
[Richard bows his head a little.]
Now, if you're a candidate could you elaborate as to why you would be the better of your competition?
no subject
Because I have a vested interest in keeping this place safe and doing a satisfactory job in the position. My diet is very limited, and the berries that are produced in Fayren are the closest thing to the berries native to my world. However, I lack the money to buy, and my appearance prevents most from hiring me in other venues. However, I am exceptionally skilled in battle, and can easily safeguard this place.
Couple with it that my opponent has been shown to lash out violently at those that would deny her demands, and I would say she is unpredictable at best, and unhinged at worst.
[Then a quirked brow.] What in Heaven's name are you? [For someone who was their while the song of creation was being sung, he doesn't quite remember something like Mewtwo in the mix.]
[There's a brief moment of exasperation on Mewtwo's face before he launches into his description.]
In my world, there are beings known as Pokemon, each coming in various shapes and sizes. One such Pokemon - the long thought extinct Mew - is said to be one of the most powerful psychic-types to ever exist. I am a genetically modified clone of Mew, using a DNA sample retrieved from the fossilized remains of a Mew.
I was created with the intent of being the single most powerful Pokemon in existence so that my creator could use me to bring the world to his knees. However, I rebelled against my creator, preferring to seek my own path, rather than have a human claim me as property.
[Video] I'm sorry I couldn't help it
[Video] PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, don't apologize :3
...No. In my world, there are beings known as Pokemon, creatures with powers far beyond those of humans. I am a psychic-type Pokemon. I communicate through telepathy, and these devices allow for the translation of thought to sound.
no subject
[He means this completely without malice.]
no subject
Do you have a question regarding my candidacy or not?
no subject
Not really. I don't live in Fayren, and I don't know you or Azula well enough to make an educated choice.
I was just a little flabbergasted by a talking ca--Pokemon.
So...you just...telepathically transmit your thoughts through this thing?
no subject
[Just... have this face for a bit.]
Yes, generally I rely solely on telepathy for communication purposes, but this device can somehow translate my thoughts into audible sound.
no subject
Well, that's good.
Good luck in the election, then!

These elections are for the appointment of guardians of the various cities that make up this place. The victor is charged with overseeing and organizing the defense of each city. I believe I am the most suited for this office because I am the more powerful candidate, and this has been my home for several months.
I have an intimate knowledge of the ecosystem this city contains, as well as the layout of this place, not to mention a vested interest in defending it to the best of my ability.
My opponent, on the other hand, has shown herself to think she is above others, demanding what she wants, and using her powers against those who stand up for themselves. She is unpredictable at best, and unhinged at worst.

I suppose that would depend on your definition of "fault", however, I will oblige. I was created to be perfect, the most powerful psychic entity the world had ever seen. However, in my infancy, I was inexperienced, and allowed the thoughts of others to overwhelm my mind. A combination of that flood of thoughts by those that wished to create and control me, and other experiences I've had, I once tried to wipe humanity from my world.
I still have no love for humanity, but have put my feelings aside for the most part, preferring to seclude myself from the humans of my world. Here, however, I have found humans that do not share the faults of those in mine, and I have been making a concerted effort to live in harmony with them.
no subject
And do you believe that you are perfect?
You saw nothing. >.>
I'm well aware of that, which is why I am attempting to integrate more into the society here. It should be a rather symbiotic relationship, helping me to grow, while safeguarding those within these walls.
[He shakes his head.]
I believe perfection is a lofty goal to pursue, however, the moment you accept yourself as perfect is the moment you cease to improve, leading only to stagnation.
I totally did. I was so confused because I didn't think we had a Toph.
You do get points for that second answer, though. Arrogance of that level just wouldn't be cool.
Hush. You saw nothing. >.> This is what happens when I reset my router and come back to tags.
When I was poised to wipe humanity off the face of the world, I had thought of all things as tainted by humanity. In order to start anew, I gathered a handful of Pokemon trainers together, and cloned their Pokemon, much in the same way I had been created. They were free of what I saw as human's taint. However, something happened.
For so long, I had only seen the darkness in humans. I only saw the evils they were capable of. Even when their Pokemon attacked mine, I saw it as a result of the humans' brainwashing. ...But when a young boy sacrificed himself for the good of all Pokemon, those I had created as well as the others, I saw something I had not seen before; light.
I do not like humans, no. Years of enslavement are difficult to forgive. However, I bear them no ill will. I do not dislike or hate humans. Perhaps that clarifies my position better.
Hilarity happens? It needs to happen more often then.
Something like that. >.>
Unfortunately, in my case, it is more of an issue of survival. By design, I have a very limited diet. It was another check used to keep me in line. However, the berries produced in Fayren have been a satisfactory replacement for those that are found in my own world. However, the berries that grow wild are few and far between, and I have no money to purchase them.
In receiving this position, I would be granted access to funds that would not only be used to strengthen the infrastructure of Fayren itself, but be used to purchase the food I require.
no subject
What do the berries look like? You have any there?
no subject
Any of the berries found in the marketplace would do.
no subject
"Purple psychic number thing! Hello!"
At least he wouldn't have to use grass clippings this way.
no subject
With the aid of his device this time, he will at least be capable of translating his telepathy into audible sound. Still, he's actually more comfortable speaking with her like this.
"...Hello again."
no subject
"Wow! You can talk now. I like your voice!" She jittered happily. "I saw your call. I saw it and I answered! You should come by sometime. You would like my sister!"
no subject
He sighed a bit, slight exasperation settling on his face. The last thing he wanted was to be exposed to a party of that level of activity.
"I will have to do so at a later point. For now, I must see to my place here."
no subject
"Okay. I would introduce you but I'm at the ancient city right now. The oni are having a party. It's only just starting so everyone is grumpy because the food is still cooking and the good alcohol hasn't been opened yet. It will calm down soon... Probably."
no subject
Just have a look for a bit. "Yes, I'm sure the addition of alcohol will do wonders for calming them down." Can you feel the sarcasm wafting off his voice, Koishi?
So many fighting types...
Pffffff
"I see." He rolls his eyes a bit. "I'm afraid for now I will have to pass. I do not generally keep the company of others. I prefer solitude for the most part."
Actually, in touhoumon (its a thing) Koishi is a minimize tank normal type with always hit attacks.

[She takes a sip of her tea. And if he's keen enough, he'd identify it as a cup from the tea shoppe where Zuko was working for.]
Strictly speaking, I trust no humans. I take it you are declining my offer to ensure neither of us interfere with the election?
So if you wish, you can enjoy tea with me. But if not, remain there and meditate as you see fit. [She's tense. She barely drinks tea because of her disappointment with their uncle, and yet, she's drinking way too much of it.]
