As I'm sure you all have seen by now, the results of the elections are in. I tried to assimilate into the culture here and to form a symbiotic relationship with this place. However, the people here have made it clear that they do not wish to have a Pokemon in charge of guarding this place, despite the roll of guarding nature that Pokemon take on naturally in our own world.

As such, I have little choice in the matter here. While I search for a way to escape this place, I will require sustenance. I refuse to simply starve myself for the convenience of humans, meaning the only recourse left to me is to take what I need.

If you value your safety, do not attempt to stop me.

If you want people to think better of you, you have to meet them half way. While you can be intimidating, I know that maybe somewhere deep down inside there is a kind person.

I have tried to do that. That was the entire intention of the elections. This is not something I do by choice.

That was too big a step. You would have needed peoples trust first. Small baby steps is the answer. Show a little kindness and you get kindness in return. I-I can always help you try and understand.

And why should I show kindness to those who have shown all they wish is to take from me? I offered a middle ground, and they refused it. I have nothing more I am willing to give.

Now, now. Have the people here really taken anything, or are you just saying that for another reason? A position is not a thing to be given or taken. While people may vote they choose who they think is more suited to the role. It may not be your time now, but I believe that you can do it in the future.

After all making people like you doesn't happen overnight.

I do not ask anyone to like me. I honestly couldn't care less what they really think of me. The fact of the matter, however, is that my opponent was a violent, demanding, warmonger claiming superiority over all. I simply approached it as an equal.

The people have made their choice, and now we must all deal with the consequences.

And while that might be true, you have to think it was something about her that made people vote for them even though she is like that. While I'm not a fan of violent people, I'm sure she must of had something that caused people to vote for her.

Besides you can't blame everyone, since not all people voted. But if my vote turns out something bad happens, then of course I'll feel very sorry about it.

The single unifying trait that I have discovered through this is gullibility. I made the mistake of not lying about my intentions. I simply believed that people would be able to see through her lies.

Yes, actually, I can. In a system such as this, inaction contributes to the decay of the system and allows tyrants to move in unopposed.

Sadly, not all people can. I-I mean I admit I can be very gullible. [At least she admits to it, that counts for something.] And that causes me to give the benefit of the doubt about people, but I've found that sometimes trusting in people does benefit in the end. I guess what I mean is trust can become gullibility if they end up doing something and breaking that trust, but if they don't do anything then that trust was worth it.

I trust you to do the right thing, even though you... How do I put it nicely. You don't trust people.

I've had that trust betrayed too many times in the worst possible ways. I do not trust anyone, no. Not until they have earned that trust.

Then how about we start at the beginning? I'm more than willing to gain your trust after all. No matter how long it takes.

Why? What good would it do you?

It doesn't really benefit me in anyway. Except that I'm showing kindness.

Then why bother at all?

[Altruism isn't something he really... gets.]

Because that's just who I am. I don't care how things benefit me and would rather see others be happy.
