[ It's impossible to tell what's going on at first - the video feed seems to be whirling about rapidly, the audio picking up nothing but the sound of rushing air. The motion stops briefly as a hand darts into view, only to begin the process anew - anyone sharp enough to figure it out will realize the person on the other end is literally tossing their video phone up into the air repeatedly, catching it just to toss it again. It's after about thirty seconds of this that it finally stops entirely, giving a view of nothing but a pair of boots... boots which seem to have some weapon-like attachments.

A long, melodramatic sigh... ]

Well! This is a pain, isn't it.

[ A brief flip of the videophone reveals Mercury's face, wearing a relatively unfazed smirk. ]

Don't waste your breath explaining what's going on - I've done my homework. I guess all I have to say is that you can call me Mercury, and... let's all get along, mmkay?

[ There's a widening of his smirk into a grin, and it's hard to tell whether he's being mocking or genuine in his greeting. ]

--Ah, and if I'm not mistaken, I think I even sort of know some of you. Lucky me! Us trainees gotta stick together.

Well it's definitely a little too chilly around here to sleep out in the open, and I haven't exactly had a chance to hunt for a pad of my own just yet. You know a place?

I'll come get you. We might have room here but if Yang and Weiss aren't comfortable with it, I can ask Sun and Neptune next door.

That's an awful lot of kindness to show someone you've barely spoken with. Are you always so generous?

True, I barely know you. But upon our arrival here, we're all in the same situation and we're all on the same level.

[It's only a little time between as she rounds the corner to the area of new arrivals.

Yeah he's unfamiliar but he certainly looks like someone who fits in to their world.~~Not THAT pretty either~~.]

Sorry you had to just wait. I'm sure you kept yourself entertained.

[Motions him to follow her.] This way.

[ He glances up from his videophone as Blake draws near, offering a lazy wave of his hand as he starts to follow her. ]

Oh, I've just been chatting it up a bit with some of your friends. Weiss is a real sweetheart.

[She's no stranger to sarcasm or dramatic antics having grown with Adam.

With a small scoff, she tips her head from side to side.] She's- something. [She's still her friend of course, but even Blake knows that Weiss can be...difficult.

Leads him down the street, remembering some of the information that was give to her probably not completely covered in the brochure.]

While here you'll want to find a job to help with expenses. There seem to be archways to other 'areas' that look like completely different worlds which also includes Vale apparently. But it's not our 'real' world.

[ There's a short chuckle at her remark about Weiss - and not even a feigned one, at that! It's good to know Weiss's attitude is a generally accepted character trait. ]

A job? Seriously? I'm not exactly a nine-to-five sort of guy, Blake.

Most of us aren't. You think Weiss is? But she somehow adapted. [Something Blake's having a little bit of problems with since she's usually just holed up in the library.]

I guess if you want to keep off the cold street you'll find something, huh? [Sun's job seemed like something Mercury might want; killing creatures in the forest which would at least keep him in top shape.]

[ That... gives him an idea. ]

And what exactly is it that our esteemed heiress does for a living around here?

[....Woops, that's actually a good question. She never thought to ask really. They all came and went at all hours, living almost their own lives despite being room mates. Hell, she didn't even know Weiss had a dog till recently.]

Hm, I'm not sure. I'll have to ask her...

I hope to find one in the library. Maybe if I hang around in it enough they'll consider me an employee.

Well I wish you the best of luck in that... and let me know about Weiss, too. I guess you could say I'm trying to brainstorm some employment ideas.

Of course. Until then you should be able to find small jobs until a more stable means of income appears.

[She's taking mental notes about his apparent eagerness to either 1: annoy Weiss even more or 2: be close to her because well, everyone was in love with her or at least attracted to her. Either or, she'll probably warn Weiss later.]

Ah, until then, since I already have a place for now, here. [Taking out some of the currency from this world, she hands it off to him.] That should at least help with meals for a while.

He's... visibly surprised as she just hands over some money, taking it with a look of bewilderment that was actually more genuine than not. ]

First a place to stay, now money from your own pocket... there's generosity and then there's absurdity. You're actually okay with just giving this away?

Quirks her brow at him before giving him a single nod.] I am, or else I wouldn't have.

You're from our world, I'm not about to let a familiar face go hungry and without protection. There are dangerous people.

I'm not sure if our Aura's even work here but- I'm not about to find out, either.

If you'd like, I could try to kick you in the head and see if your Aura activates in time to protect yourself.

You know, to repay you for your kindness.

I'll be sure to report as soon as possible, assuming I don't lose consciousness.

So! Other than... jobs, what does this place have to offer? I bore easily.

[Just smirks slightly to herself at that with a nod. Eh, she's sure he can handle himself, even she doesn't know squat about him. It's all in the attitude.]

Hm, well, again, the archways lead to different cities and locations. If you're looking for hustle, bustle and a ridiculous amount of lights, you should head to Tokyo.

[ Hmmmmm! Hustle and bustle usually led somewhere exciting, at the very least. That might be more of a place up Emerald's alley, since a pickpocket in a crowd was hard to single out, but he's sure he could find something of interest for himself. ]

I take it you've been there - any suggestions in particular?

I have. They had some good food there. Some rather odd stores for knick knacks around the house, arcades, all sorts of things.

[Before continuing, she pauses to think just what Sun is to her. They never established anything other than a first date and even after that he wasn't clear towards her about his feelings- if any.] A uh, friend took me there when I first came here. But, if you want something a little more relaxed, I think just the city here has the occasional something to do.
