1st Lie [Video]
[People of Genessia. You wake up to this dashing face on your phone this morning. He's just kind of sitting on the edge of his little pod in the Bay.]
Jeez. Go figure you get a fancy pod like that and the first thing they cheap out on is the bed. Anyone else have a weird pain in their shoulder when they woke up?
Anyways, read the pamphlet, nice touch by the way, and figures I should get right down to business.
The names Alvin, Back where I'm from I'm a mercenary. I figure i'll just keep doing that here, so if you have any jobs that need to be done, just give me a call and they'll be done. For the right price of course.

Well, none of us have been outright denied information, but it's not easy to dig it up either.

Maybe not outright denied, but they certainly aren't making the information readily available.
[Private]
About two weeks ago some creeps kidnapped my sister and put her in a death trap. I'm trying to work my way up the chain to find out who was responsible, but I can only shake down so many clubs before they're onto me. Whoever did it knows I'm after him, too.
[She folds her arms.]
You help me nail this guy, I'll pay you anything you want.
[Private]
Well... That sounds like the quite the situation.
That's a pretty good head you've got on your shoulders, they wont be expecting anyone fresh out of the pod to be doing any digging.
[He'll play with the idea a little before answering.]
Well, I did offer my services to whoever needed them, I don't see any reason to turn you down.
I'm in.
[Private]
[He should know the risks before he agrees. But just the same, there's a little smile from Yang that's evidence of her relief.]
But if you're still up for it...thanks. I'll owe you one.
[Private]
[It was pretty obvious whoever this guy was, he'd managed to leave a lasting impact on this girl and her sister.]
Hey, I already said I'm in, I'm not just going to back down because there might be a little danger involved. I have a reputation to uphold.
...Well I have a reputation to establish is a bit more accurate given the circumstances.
[Private]
[Private]
But it clearly isn't the only reason I should be doing this, right?
Sounds like he's put a family through some turmoil and needs to be put in his place.
That sounds a little bit better than "doing it for the fame," don't you think?
[Private]
[The fact that he is looking at it from her angle is actually a little impressive. She regards him from a different angle, considering.]
...But yeah. It's important to me. Thanks.
[Private]
But if you want to get together for a little bit, I've got nothing but time at the moment.
[It's pretty obvious this hit the girl pretty hard, the least he can do is hear her out. It might give him a better lay of the land anyways.]
[Private]
Maybe in one of the sub-cities. I don't know if I trust that guy not to listen in.
[Private]
[Well whoever this guy was, he had her on edge, that was for sure.]
Alright, name the place and I'll be there.
[Private]
[She doesn't care for ale, but sometimes that place breaks out into a massively fun bar fight!]
[Private]
[She might not care for ale, but he could certainly use a drink, this was turning into a rather eventful day.]
[Private]
[She winks, and closes the connection.]
[Action]
He'd have to find a house and check up on Milla, but both of those could wait for the moment.
He'll step into the bar and casually take a look around to see if Yang's there yet. If not he'll find a seat for himself and wait.]
[Action]
[She slides onto a stool beside Alvin at the counter, flashing him a little smile before flagging the bartender for an iced punch. It's the best she can get in lieu of a fruity girl drink.]
Seems unfair, just dropping you into the deep end like this when you haven't even been here half a day.
[And yet, she's not exactly apologizing either.]
What do you want to know?
[Action]
Hey, I'm the one who said I wanted to get right to work.
[He's not fishing for one either.]
Why don't you start with what happened between you and this guy? You said the guy hurt you, right?
It might not be a bad idea to get it off your chest.
[It'll tell him a bit more about what this guy is like and how he works anyways.]
[Action]
[She smiles; there's no bite in her response, and no sadness.]
It's just that this guy, M, knows exactly how to push people's buttons. It's almost scary. You'd have to know Ruby to understand the damage he did to my little sister. She's doing a lot better, but he shook her up really bad. Being drowned in cold water is a nasty thing to do to a girl.
[Her drink arrives and she sips from it.]
She's only fifteen.
[Action]
[He's out for whatever information he can get, but he wont force it.
He'll hold on taking another drink when she does start to talk. Instead, he'll focus his attention on what she has to say.]
Hmph. So he's got a few screws loose and picks on kids, sounds like a winner right there.
[Action]
[She tosses back the rest of her punch and holds up her glass to the bartender for more.]
All the while we were searching, he sent text messages to let us know he saw us and heard us perfectly, describing the horrible way Ruby was going to die.
And you know what it was? Just a lousy front so he could get his hands on Dust from our home city. Who does that?
[Yang glowers at Alvin, a flash of color sparking in her purple eyes.]
He's made it pretty clear that he's going to target my teammate Blake or Ruby's friend Jaune next. I'm on the list too. I don't plan on letting him plan that far ahead.
[Action]
Text messages? Hm.
[That rang a bell, looks like he may have already gotten a hold of this guy.]
So it was just a front, he's going to target you all anyways? Why the interest in you kids? And what's so special about this Dust stuff anyways?
[Action]
[But from the way this person talked, Yang would guess that M is male. She digs out her radio, thumbing through the archives until she finds the one between M and herself. She passes the device to Alvin.]
Dust is energy. It's used to power most everything where I come from, even our weapons. Each color embodies a certain element. It's versatile, and very valuable.
[Action]
[He'll glance over the conversation once or twice. His expression manages to stay surprisingly neutral throughout it.
His eyes might perk up a little as she describes what Dust is. As someone from a world that's suffering from an energy crisis. He could certainly see how Dust might be valuable. It's possible that whoever this is could be from Elympios as well. But then again any world with an energy crisis could be a possibility.]
