Tis fine :D
"Take mister hat so I don't wander off." She placed his hat in his hands. It made sense. If she could vanish without a trace he could keep her around by simply holding on to her hat.
She moved to one side, floating a short distance behind him. She wouldn't get in the car if he did. She really didn't like it. But she could keep up just fine by flying along behind it. "Don't worry so much. Tomorrow's snow will numb and deafen." Great... She wasn't making sense again.
Re: Tis fine :D
Luke brushes his fingers along the fabric of Koishi's hat, noting how soft it felt. He does take the car as instructed by Satsuki, though he doesn't realize Koishi isn't coming along for the ride until the car is moving.
He worries about her absence the entire trip, despite her saying that the hat would keep her near.
At his little apartment those words are the first he hears, gripping his blue hat tight as he climbs out of the car. "Miss Koishi?"
The question is as much to ensure she's near as it is to ask what she's talking about as he fishes through his pocket to find his key.
The apartment is small--looks like one room--and when Luke turns on the light the kitchen and hall area remain dark. Placing the hat on the counter he looks into the kitchen, heading for the stove to grab the kettle because tea always makes things better. "...do you want some tea, Miss Koishi?"
Might go back and edit this if you don't reply first. Literally just got up.
"I'm here!"
She drifted in after Luke, pausing as only some of the lights went on... She frowned a little bit. That wasn't safe. And then Luke offered her tea. "Um..." She looked up. "The kitchen is dark though. Tea is good but hot things in the dark are bad." Her smile returned in full force. "Here."
She held out her hands, a little sphere of pink light forming in it. It zipped from her hands and cracked apart with a sound like a wind chime leaving strange ethereal rose petals hovering near his ceiling. It wasn't a lot of light but it was much better than before. The whole apartment smelled like roses now.
I think it's a great post
His eyes widen slightly at the pink orb of light, gaze following the gently floating rose petals. He'd never seen anything like that before, but it smelled sweet and the soft glow was comforting. "Thank you, Miss Koishi."
He's still at the sink, filling the kettle, and then trails over to the stove where he can heat the water. Most things are a hair too tall for him to reach them properly, but at least he can get to most. While her kindness is appreciated, it's clear the boy is still distraught, staring sadly at the kettle as it heats.
aww thanks xD
She turned her attention upward again, the rose petals fading, another energy sphere drifting up and breaking apart into petals. This one was a soft blue. "It's broken, right?" She drifted over to him, third eye swaying gently side to side. "Do you have new ones?
Though Koishi was a little shorter than Luke, she could fly. That probably made reaching things in high places a lot easier.
<3
Luke nods slowly, still frowning. "I can't reach it. I've tried climbing on the counter and using a step stool..."
As if to prove that he's made multiple attempts, he reaches on his tiptoes to grab the light bulb off of a shelf and hands it to her. See? He has tried!
~( –)~ And I rolled "ultra silly" on how this situation should be handled.
She moved around behind him, her hands sliding under his arms on either side of his chest. Several blue tendrils followed, holding him steady, winding around behind his knees and thighs... In a moment he was being quite securely held several inches off the ground. It felt a lot like he was sitting.
"Here. I'll hold you and you can do it. Humans are really really light so its okay. And most here can't fly so you get to fly too, okay? It will be fun."
A tendril scooped up the light, placing it in his lap as she slowly drifted up to the burned out light. Her calming aura still present and her flight was steady and her hold on him secure. "See?"
A+
"I s-see."
His free hand grabs hers tight, primarily for the understanding that he's steady. His other hand gently twists the lightbulb out of the socket, replacing it with the new bulb. "Thank you for helping."
Finally, the anxiety is starting to wane, replaced more with fatigue, and he twists his head to look at her. Her hat is still on his head, slightly askew from where it brushed the ceiling a moment before. "May I come down now?"

Upon his request she lowered them both to the ground, the extra appendages unwinding easily and retracting back up into her sleeves. It was a little odd seeing something so blatantly inhuman on Koishi Especially considering how human she was in her general appearance.
"My favorite type of tea is rose. But I like all sorts of other kinds as well. Especially the ones the Devil Maid makes." Oh yeah, the kettle.

He returns to the kettle, reaching for a small container of tea. "I don't have rose tea Miss Koishi, I'm sorry." He shakes the canister he's holding. "I do have chamomile, though. That might be nice."
Luke says this as he adds tea and then hot water to two mugs before carefully bringing them both to the table. He sets one in front of Koishi, and then places the other in front of him as he climbs into the chair.
"Thank you for coming."
He's said it a few times already, but he'll continue to say it. Just by being here, Koishi's helped settle his frazzled nerves.

Eventually the sound of a mug being placed on the table successfully lured the satori over, the little youkai drifting through the air, third eye low and bobbing gently. She took her seat with little trouble, actually remembering to blow on the tea.
"You're welcome!" A sip. "Little human! This is really good. I like this tea. I've had it before and I liked it before. You have really really good taste!" another sip, this one much larger than the previous. "Ah! Hot!" Well... Some things never change.

Oh, there she goes. Did she burn her tongue? Yeah.
"It's very hot," he finishes, stirring his tea absently with a small frown. "It won't take too long to cool. Do you like it sweeter? I've got honey and sugar," he adds sleepily.
A proper host would've put the honey and sugar out already, but it's going on three in the morning and he is tired. He is a 'little human', after all. The tiredness is demonstrated with his poorly concealed yawn, stifling the act by tucking his face into the crook of his elbow. One hand blearily rubs his eyes, still puffy from the earlier tears.

"Little Human. You're tired and I'm relaxed. You should go to bed, okay? If you don't sleep fuzz will grow in your brain. It's hard to think through fuzz." Another sip. "It's okay. We're so high up so you're really safe. When its time to go I'll use the window. It's okay if the window isn't locked."
Even if she looked younger than Luke, at 413 years old she was very much an adult of her species. She managed to act her age on rare occasion.

Most of what she was saying was lost on him, primarily as a result of fatigue, though he was able to tell that she was not offended by his tiredness. He nods slowly, slapping off of the chair and turning to head towards the other half of the room--presumably where his bed was.
He's only gone for a moment or so before his hatless head
a rare sighting!pops up above the low wall that separated the room slightly. "Do... you have to leave tonight? I could sleep on the sofa and you can stay here the night since it's so late."In other words, please don't leave--not that he'd have the courage to come out and say that.
no subject
"Oh. I could stay if you like. I can sleep anywhere. I'm a youkai. You should sleep in your bed though. It's your bed." She finished her tea quickly, floating up and over, placing her cup in the sink.
"Besides, you have Mister Hat. I can't leave without him." It's true. Luke had taken Koishi's hat into his room with him. "If you leave him out I'll get him later. Okay?"
She was already drifting over toward the couch, stretching a little bit. Her eye was open quite a bit oddly enough and she was making a bit more sense than usual. It probably wouldn't stay though. She'd be back to her loopy self in the morning.

"It's lonely here sometimes. It's a small flat and that's good, because it's just me...but sometimes I wish there was someone here. Even a pet to say hi to when I come home."
Hatless and now in pajamas, Luke reappears from the other side of the room. He's holding a pillow, a blanket, and Koishi's hat. He places the hat on the counter and hands her the blanket and pillow.
Luke sniffles, rubbing his eyes. "Thank you for staying."

"A pet?" She tilted her head. "Sis has a lot of pets. Sometimes they have babies and we need to find homes for some of them since they don't always get along. I'll bring you a pet Little Human, okay?"
She set the pillow aside and wrapped the blanket around herself, hugging her shoulders tightly. "Hehehe. Warm. You're welcome. I'm glad I don't have to sleep in a tree tonight."
She floated up a bit, a few tendrils slipping out of the blanket cocoon to remove her shoes and unbuckle the heart decorations, before moving to grab the pillow and place it in the proper place. With a dull thump she let herself drop down onto the couch, giggling, rolling a little bit. "Comfy~"

He yawns again, rubbing his eyes. "A pet would be nice, I think." His voice is tinted with the sleepiness that's taking over, almost like he's not thinking so much of what he's saying. He probably won't even remember that she said something about a pet tomorrow.
"G'night, Koishi. Thank you for staying." There's a similar thump as Luke flops into bed, grabbing for his teddy bear

The next morning Koishi wasn't on the couch but it certainly looked used. The window was closed but left unlocked. It made sense. There was no way for Koishi to lock it once she had left.
In addition there was a large box sitting on his kitchen table, a note pinned to the side written in an elegant script.
Luke,
Since I've arrived here, for better or worse, I've been trying to find a home for several of my pets. Koishi has told me much about you, and seems to have reason to believe that you are a very responsible individual. My sister's judgment of a person's core and moral character has always been strikingly accurate in the past, as she hardly has a fraction of my cynicism on the matter. Her counsel, as well as your desire for a pet or companion has led me to decide to leave Suna, one of my many fennec foxes, in your care. Consider her a gift, from one stranger to another.
I ask that you take good care of her; my pets are very dear to me, and I do not make these offers often, or easily. She is psychically trained with the basics. Anything further will be quite simple.
Sincerely,
Satori Komeiji
Inside the box was a small tan fluffy creature fast asleep and curled up into a ball.

"Hello, Suna. We'll have to go thank Koishi and Miss Komeiji soon!"
