Diablo, Prime Evil and Lord of Terror
19 October 2015 @ 11:01 pm
[In the early night hours, a pod in the bay opens, and a rather unassuming young woman climbs out of it. Briefly she considers the items placed in the pod with her, quickly allowing the money to drop from her grasp, and she listens to the hologram of Weiss give its introduction before venturing out into the streets. She doesn't say anything to anyone she passes, nor does she seem very... out of place. She does however wait until she's relatively alone, approaching a nearby storefront that has already closed. As she approaches the darkened window, she unbuttons the top two buttons of her blouse, pulling the fabric down just far enough that anyone with keen eyes could see the edges of a jagged ebony stone jutting from her chest, with occasional fiery shapes drifting through the stone in the reflection of the window.]

I don't understand... Malthael destroyed the stone to channel my power, and that of my siblings... He was struck down by the Nephalem, and yet... here I am, alone in the stone and possessing this body...

[She mutters to herself in barely a whisper. She turns her pale face outward toward the city, eyes darting back and forth as she re-buttons her blouse.]

And this... is not Sanctuary. I can feel no traces of the Heavens or Hells here... but these people are human. Hmm... could Lilith and Inarius have created a second world away from the conflict? ...No, this place has no connection to the Worldstone... hmm... this requires research...

Lady Jaina Proudmoore, Daughter of the Sea
[ Mid-afternoon, sometime after the lunch hour, a public call will go out. Upon answering, one will see their screen full of this guy's charismatic face. ]

IS THIS THING ON!?

[ And an unfortunately loud yell could be heard as he literally screamed at the phone. Before he looks away from the screen, and then back at it again with a lower voice. For those paying attention, there's a glimpse of a mostly cloaked individual in the background. ]

Erm, sorry about that. A bit too excited with this... thing. Whatever it is. Thal's balls, you all could've just used linkpearls, would've made communicating a lot more simpler, yeah? Either ways, uh, I'm Kaelas. And I'm going to let this lady here introduce herself.

[ Stepping up beside him, she'll lean down a little so that her face was on screen. ] Greetings fellow adventurers. Remarkable, I have never magic like this in all of my years studying the arcane... ah, but to remain focused on the goal of an introduction, you may call me Jaina Proudmoore.

My companion and I here are in need of board as well as work if we are to survive in a foreign land. [ Jaina pauses briefly to consider something, then turns to her companion to ask. ] Kaelas, what keeps your hands from going idle?

Ah, I fight! I'm a gladiator, so it's only normal that fighting is how I keep myself occupied! IF ANYONE WISHES TO FIGHT ME, THEY'RE MORE THAN WELCOME TO CHALLENGE ME!

Mm yes. [ Jaina, who could very well be a saint for tolerating his behavior for longer than five minutes, gives a simple nod at the gladiator's words. ] very well. If you wish to take up his challenge, you may find us at the Battle Colosseum.

OOC | joint intro for both [personal profile] lightsworn (Kaelas Lannis) and [personal profile] crymoore (Jaina Proudmoore)! we'll be tagging separate threads so if you only want one of us, please specify that when tagging. also there's a Battle Colosseum action prompt here if you want to hit that up.

Ffamran mied Bunansa | Balthier
19 October 2015 @ 11:28 pm
[ Balthier has never seen architecture like this before, or so many vehicles, or hear any quite so loud. He's figured out the hologram was just that, though; a projection, and pre-recorded it would seem.

When he follows the clever instructions provided him with his communicator, though, he finds it exceptionally simple to operate, which is fortunate.

The face that appears on the screen is young, and his expression is less than pleased. He also looks like a man who could use a cup of coffee as he attempts to straighten the sleeves of his shirt, which is wrinkled from sleeping in that pod. When he speaks, though, his tone only sounds bored with a small edge of annoyance.
]

While I'm quite obviously not the only person around, I wonder just how many of you have these communicators. It's strange, though. Our kidnappers don't seem to know how to operate a proper ransom. Take note, if you would: we're supposed to be used as leverage for payout. You shouldn't be offering us money.

[He shakes his head and frowns at a particularly annoying wrinkle in his sleeve.]

They seem to have the mechanics down well enough, but they're still rank amateurs, aren't they? It's hard to find good abductors these days.
