Halloween Ball

WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: It's time for the Halloween ball! Get together for socializing, dancing, drinks, and flaunting your costumes.
WHEN: October 29th, 2014 - Evening
WHERE: Grand Hall, Genessia City
SOUNDTRACK: What a coincidence, the DJ likes the same music that I do. Put it on shuffle and enjoy!

The Grand Hall was decked out in fake spiderwebs stretched in the corners of doorways, and tiny plastic bats hanging from the ceiling. Stacks of jack-o'-lanterns glowed eerily in several displays, each one carved with a different face. To the right, the ballroom had a fog machine pumping white mist over the feet of the dancers while the DJ queued up a variety of songs, some for dancing, some for Halloween, some for both. There was a table with punch and water to keep dancers hydrated, and a number of spooky snacks like spiderweb cupcakes and pumpkin-shaped cuts of cheese and ham for crackers. ...If you weren't sick of cheese already.

Out in the foyer were similar tables of snacks and drinks, but there were games and activities too, such as a big washbasin filled with water and apples, a table for carving pumpkins, and a couple of fat jack-o'-lantern pinatas stuffed with candies.

So said Ted as he traipsed in, dressed in the armor of the Crusades. His words were more elegant than he, so unfamiliar was he in wearing armor as cumbersome as that. Still, he tried, walking slowly and carefully as his vision was obstructed by a visor. Kite shield on his left, fake sword on his right. A black mantle worn over his left shoulder with a white cross. Blue chainmail with a beige tabard over the top, secured with leather belts across his chest.

The time had come, infidels, to put the "hallow" back in All Hallow's Eve.

One day, Bison would avenge his wounded pride on all of you.

But for the sake of his ambitions, he put that aside and played along with what everyone else found amusing; one half to a plumber-sibling duet. Not as comical as, say, the wailing and gnashing of teeth that would come from a world steeped in his personal flavor of tyranny, but it would have to to.

In other words, Luigi on 'roids, sans pupils. He also had a tag-along; Stefano the circus animal. He couldn't decide which was more embarrassing: Playing dress up, or having him as an ally.

Stefano had been a sleeper hit at the Shadaloo swimming pool. Many of the lady-terrorists found him adorable, and when it was suggested they he resembled a certain italian plumber, Shadaloo tailors got straight to work designing his complimentary outfit. He ought to be showing up to trample what dignity Bison had left any moment now...

[ No one had technically told Mercury about the event - most likely to keep him from showing up, really - but like an infestation of termites he shows up exactly when and where he's not wanted. He's even gotten into the spirit of things by dressing up... And what's a scarier thought than Mercury actually doing what other people want him to? A butler seemed like a fine choice of costume, and he's now posted himself at the front door to act as an impromptu greeter. ]

Good evening! My, don't you have a terrifying face tonight. I'll have nightmares for sure!

[ Mind you he's saying this to everyone, even if they're not wearing a mask.

... Especially if they're not wearing a mask, and with some added inflection if they're trying for some sort of sexy costume. His sarcasm doesn't take off on holidays, it seems. ]

[ Make no mistake, Sendo is still pretty annoyed at this whole turn of events. Being trapped in another world is going to put a hold on his progress towards reaching the world stage and the rematch with Makunouchi he so desperately wants. But right now he needs to unwind, and a goddamn costume party will do just fine. With a nickname like the Naniwa Tiger it was easy to choose a costume, but... well, the ferocity of the display image didn't exactly match what was inside.

Oh well. He'd make it work.

So now there's one stupid doofy tiger running at full speed for the entrance, arms thrust in the air as he shouts ]

WOO HOOO, AWRIGHT! LET'S PARTY, MOTHERFU--

[ And that's when he trips over his oversized feet, slamming face first into the ground before floundering about in an attempt to get himself upright again. ]

Stefano, on the other hand, was absolutely ecstatic to be here. He hopped in along with his ~~evil~~ "brother", looking around eagerly in his Super Mario costume.

"Wow! Look at this-a place!" he yelled excitedly. "This is-a going to be fantastic! Lots of food and-a games and-a dancing! Let's-a go!"

[How she was convinced to leave the house was a mystery. Someone suggested a costume and all she could find were black cat themed things. Total irony...hilarious.

Taking a deep breath with a sigh, she wandered in to through the entrance while adjusting the gloves of her costume. Rather than white hair, she opted for her own black hair, curled a bit more and matching still with the attire at least. She found a headband that she carved niches out of and sand smooth so she could fit her real cat ears through them but make it look like a headband.

At least it was a night where she could pretend to be accepted for her Faunus features, even if she was in a whole different world where no one really seemed too worried with Faunus affairs.

However, she soon felt the itch to want to grab and take anything shiny back with her to the apartment.]

Joruk wasn't actually wearing a costume, though his normal clothes might seem like one due to being from an earlier time period than most people brought to Genessia. He still didn't get what Halloween was about. He was just at the party for the food.

[ Mayu is wearing a gi, which he usually wears when for judo. He also has his hair gelled back. That slight difference is enough to make it a costume. He is dressed as Sanshiro Sugata, the protagonist of a classic Kurosawa film.]

It's a bit of a late arrival for Satsuki, in part of having to locate and then bring Koishi along for the ride to the party. It's going to be interesting having the youkai be judged, that's for sure- I mean, what if no one sees her?

But that aside, the Nova City Guardian arrives dressed as a creature of folklore, the yuki-onna. Her kimono long, sleeves flowing and primarily white in color with obsidian and cobalt patterns along the linings and bow.

Her lips, brows and fingertips are painted in a similar color, and her visible skin paled by glittery, white make-up to create a snowy, crystal feel. Her narrow eyes are covered in crimson-color contacts, and upon entering, her gaze does not shift to anyone in particular. To no one's surprise she's not smiling, nor does she seem to be making any particular effort to appear approachable despite her alluring choice of demoness.

But as the saying goes, 'keep your eyes on the prize'.

Terra hadn't been able to decide on a costume but she still made sure to dress up. She was still wearing a red dress but now it fell to her knees, artfully grabbing at her form. The dress had a trail of roses that circled around her body, up to her chest. It was a sleeveless dress so she wore a black cloak that hung off her pale shoulders.

Her green hair was tied up with what a fresh rose holding it in place, though a group of hairs were missed and laid across her chest. A masked covered her face, giving her more confidence as she walked into the ballroom.

Sanshiro Sugata?

[Satsuki's voice comes from the side as she approaches Miyu. She is hardly a cinema buff; in fact she herself is surprised she recognizes the attire by picking up on the small details. Perhaps seeing something so traditional just forced the memory to submerge. She herself is dressed as a yuki-onna.]

[Fresh off of waking up with new memories, Sun was excited and ready to party. He's been sleeping for a week, so he needs to expel some energy to make up for lying still for seven days.

He'd had his costume picked out for a while. He saw it for sell in a costume shop. A Vigilante Thief, complete with mask and bow and arrow and all. The tail hanging out of the back was his, but personally he thought it added a lot to the costume. At least one person could expect to get show with that bow tonight.]

[Well Sun tried to carve a pumpkin but..it just didn’t come out quite right. He was used to eating fruit, not trying to carve them up so they resembled something.]

This looked totally different in my head. [He engages in the other activities as well, should someone want to bump into him while bobbing for apples or whatnot.]

[Sun knows how to bust a move. It's a Faunus thing, at least that what Sun would say. He spends his time either on the dance floor or watching other people dance while he's taking a break to get something to drink.]

[Bobbing for apples is something she'd done a few times before at home. It was always fun when she tried it and today she was going to try again. Wearing a warrior costume she put her hand behind her back and her head was soon in the water trying her best to get one.

It didn't take her long before she was out and clearly had an apple in her mouth. It was a fun game and you get a free apple from it. It looked like she was having fun.]

[David had to negotiate with his hair pretty hard to get it stuffed up under the hat of his costume, but once it was there, his hair fit like a charm. It was his first time dressing up for Halloween in a long time, and he planned to make the most of it as best as he could.]

Koishi entered the party a moment after Satsuki, walking through the doors unseen as usual. She would not remain that way for very long, seeming to materialize out of thin air by her side.

The little youkai's costume was probably not one someone would expect given her personality, but given her power to move completely unseen it made perfect sense. Koishi was dressed as a ninja. Her entire body was covered in cloth. The main bulk of the costume was a rich and slightly comical purple color, the sleeves and pants tucking into white wraps tightly bound around her forearms and shins. Only her eyes were visible through a slit in the head wrap as well as her third eye which bobbed freely in the air in front of her. Though mos of her expression was hidden, the cord over her left shoulder was twisted into a very defined heart. Bakuzan was strapped to her back completing the look. Satsuki had made her promise not to draw it.

"Wah! Miss White! Look! There are so many things to do!" She hopped up and down several times. Without waiting for Satsuki to follow, Koishi dashed forward, vanishing after two steps. It wouldn't be hard to guess that she would end up at the food table. The little youkai did love to snack.

[Yuna attempted to kneel down, which wasn't easy considering the moogle costume she was wearing made it not as easy. But never the less she managed to and why was she kneeling down? It was mostly to check out the various pumpkins and wondering just why people were craving into them. It was most certainly odd and it wasn't long before she had spotted the other.]

That's a very interesting pumpkin. What were you trying to crave and why?

[She had no idea what his costume was suppose to be, but the young lady managed to get something that she felt Kaname would approve of. So she made her way over in her costume.]

Hey there. You wearing a very nice outfit, but I can't say I know what it is.

The blond would-be-social-butterfly known as Pidonus had quickly gone through costume options and grabbed something that felt loosely right. And then she'd dressed up, went right to the party and slipped on in.

Soon after which, she'd run into Terra. "Ah, good evening," she said with a smile. Pidonus had decided, before going in, to not use her powers while here -only conversation. A challenge, but also a safety measure. Her intention, for now, was to meet more people and not get in trouble - and the latter was perhaps a higher priority.

"Good evening." Terra smile shyly. She still wasn't good at being comfortable in large social gatherings but she was trying. "You look nice." Though she had no idea who the girl was dressed as.

[Given Minako's costume, complete with cobwebs in her hair and on her dress as well as looking rather pale, almost dead like she sure knew how to bust a move. It wasn't long until she spotted another on the dance floor.]
