[Action]
[If one is out and about in the main city of Genessia, there's a good chance that they will bump into a man standing on a soap box, wearing a white robe and with gold trim. A middle-aged man, with white hair and a short beard. He's shouting at the top of his lungs and a rather large group of people have assembled.]
Gather round children! I have seen something amazing with my own eyes! Our god walks among us and has revealed himself to me! He has shown me the truth of his glory, and it was an experience that changed everything I knew about life!
He can provide us what we all desire the most! The innermost workings of our hearts are laid bare before Him! Soon, he will descend upon this world, and will bless the faithful, and strike down the wicked! Give yourself to the god that walks among us, and you too can share in the glory that is our merciful god!
[Kefka watched on from the shadows, pleased with the performance of the spell. He was worried it wouldn't work on a native of a world free of the Warring Triad's influence. He had to stifle the giggle that would've given his alleyway vantage point.]
[OOC: Replies will most likely come from the preacher unless otherwise specified.]

"Good morning, man of the cloth! Tell me more about your god!"
no subject
The preacher takes a moment to pat his chest, holding his emotions in check. "He is all that is power, glory, and justice, and his arms are open to all!"
no subject
"I see! What would your god have us do as we wait for his return? What are his commandments?"
no subject
no subject
"Is that all then? Does he desire worship as well?"
no subject
no subject
"Foul hierophant, leading the people astray! Your god is false, for he lacks that one essential quality, without which you are sounding brass! Repent, and cease your blasphemies!"
Well, that made him feel better. Heel turn, pivot, then walk away.
no subject
"Do not doubt the power of my god! I beg of you, reconsider lest you truly incur my Lord's wrath when he descends on this wretched world and reveal his glory to all!"

She's just pausing to listen for a moment, then she shakes her head as though something was funny about this.]
No thanks, I've already got my god and he's enough of a handful.
(can't resist)
It should've been eight... Why couldn't it have been eight? Oh, the humanity!
no subject
1/2
How pathetic can a guy get, sniffling while dusting off his pants leg. GAWD.]
A normal shift is eight hours, right? Perhaps I can live with that, if it's eight hours I could do anything..!

Coming!
[That sure lit a fire under his backside, because all at once Kid has no problems catching up with her. And his attention still manages to wander.]
...What's this? A street performer?
no subject
[She smiles wryly, clapping Kid on the shoulder.]
And I was just thinking, don't need that--I've got you!
no subject
Preachers, proselytizers... I don't need that kind of attention.
[Like zipping around on a flying skateboard wearing a long black cloak and a skull mask is much more subtle!]
Hmm. I wasn't aware of any gods worshiped by the native population, however.
no subject
[Like not knowing when to keep his goddamned (not literally) mouth shut.]
The natives don't really talk to us at all, this is a first. I mean, if this guy's a native anyway, but the foreign population of Genessia doesn't strike me as much for preaching.
no subject
[He pulls himself out of his speculative reverie, but not in time to wonder what Maka meant by bringing attention to himself in other ways.]
Come to think of it, I never bothered to look for the usual trappings of institutionalized religion. Places of worship, statues, that sort of thing.

Asura was undeserving, however determined to assume such power.
[His frown persists.]
However, you raise a fine point. Shall we look into this, avoid getting involved, or simply keep tabs on the situation if it should prove suspicious?
no subject
[And that sappy line is followed by the offering of her fist for a fist bump, you know how to do these by now, don't you Kid?]
Meisters have to stick together, don't they?
no subject
[Far from home, so far neither of them could have a chance of even detecting the wavelengths of well-known souls who have not found themselves exiled here with them.
Kid's familiar with the gesture, indeed, but it still takes all his effort to not insist that bumping fists should be repeated for the left hand as well.]

His gaze, rather than being turned at the speaker, is angled toward the shadows. There is no fooling someone like Bei Dou, who can easily tell where people are, what their thoughts are, and what they might be. He's not Overseer of Death without a reason. ]
How...enlightening.
[ Bei Dou sounds much more bored than people usually should be. ]

no subject
His head tips to the side just a fraction, expression not changing. ]
Of course, Gods does not need other Gods. Do they now? So it is hardly of importance, however false it may be.
no subject
There is but one true God, one all encompassing being who has seen the beginning and end of all things. All others pale in front of his glory and are revealed as charlatans!
no subject
Now that's just pure ignorance. [ He pets a snake that suddenly appears out of nowhere. ] Don't you think?
no subject
No, there are beings of great power in this place and I mean no disrespect to any of them. However, they are not gods. Only He can lay claim to that title.
no subject
Saying that right in the face of one is the height of rudeness.
no subject
And claiming to hold such a position when - with all due respect - you do not is just as rude, I would wager.
no subject
no subject
God? Really?
[It was obvious she didn't exactly believe such a thing because why would a God want to bring people here only to take them away again. That just didn't seem right at all.]
I think I'll pass on giving myself to them.
no subject
Please reconsider, my lady. Our God will descend upon this place in all His glory, and those who refuse him will see his glory turned to wrath. He is a loving god, one of immeasurable mercy, but at the same time one of immeasurable wrath for those who refuse him!
no subject
And what wrath may I ask might that be? ,small>[Didn't stop her from playing along however to see what would be said and to see if the guy was truthful or just insane.]
no subject
The wrath of nature itself! He bestows its blessings onto his faithful that they might have a taste of the glory he promises all to share in!
[The man's hands flick, the flame quickly freezing into a large chunk of ice that explodes into glittering ice crystals that rain down harmlessly over the crowd, casting rainbows in the air as the light filtered through the crystals.]
My God has touched me, and I share in his glory! His wish is for all to share in that glory, to taste the very power that molded all into being, so that they might know the yearning of their souls realized!
no subject
God is a very... interesting person, I guess. but sadly I'm still not interested. Sorry.
no subject
Do not refuse his glory outright, young sister! Our God is a god of comfort... but also one of wrath! Time is running out and soon he will strike down those who refuse him upon his arrival!
no subject
[That's as much as she could really say about it honestly as she puts her hands to her sides.]
When the time comes of course.
no subject
But if God existed wouldn't he show himself to everyone instead of just one person?
no subject
no subject
[Unless he had evidence in front of him and not just words, then he won't believe any of it. Then again even if that was the case he wouldn't care anyway.]
no subject
Is this what you wish!? To put that which the mortal mind cannot comprehend beneath a microscope so as to prove he exists!?
[Lightning begins to strike all around the circle of those gathered, two bolts striking in unison.]
Well there you have your proof! That is but a fraction of His divine might! His all encompassing power!
no subject
Sadly that honestly proves nothing. It proves you can do magic, nothing special about that. I can do magic after all does that make me a god? Not really.
[It didn't prove anything in his mind but then again how does one prove such a thing anyway,]
no subject
That was but the passing thought of my god, the gentle movement of a single toe of his divine being.
no subject
I know magic to know what it is. But that is not the way to prove something exists when you have no way to prove it is not your own abilities.
[reaction]
Kefka and him share some similarities at least. From the darkness, he watched. ]
