For some time now, Kefka's tower had sat comfortable in its little shell, unmoving, the monsters content to just attacking whoever was foolish enough to get too close. But something different was happening today. High above the tower, a brilliant ball of light was beginning to form, casting a golden hue on all it touched. On top of that the three statues at the corners of the triangular barrier looked little like statues any longer, and would even speak to any that drew near.

Something big was about to happen. The very air itself seemed charged with an unmistakable power that didn't need magical sensitivity to feel beating down from the orb overhead. Whatever was happening, any who saw the light knew that one way or another, it all ended today.

[OOC: Sub threads will be going up shortly.]

So much for resolving our differences between the DWMA and witches.

[ Here is a snowy-haired kid with red eyes, jagged teeth and a nearly permanent slouch. It's different than how he first woke up wrapped in something that seems uncomfortably close to Arachne's style -- a freaking cocoon, even if it was made of metal and silk but the fact he may have got tangled up in there might have contributed to that assumption -- but after a few minutes of freaking out off screen, he'd taken stock of his situation, gone over all the reading material... and decided it was all too weird to take at face value. Clearly, some witch didn't get the memo and was still probably fighting the good fight in the name of that dead Arachne lady. That's so lame. ]

What's your deal, Warlock Dresden guy?

[ Soul lifts Harry Dresden's magazine for newcomers and waves it lazily, wrongly assuming he'd been jumped by said wizard who oh so helpfully introduced himself simply because it was an easier way to explain his blackout than to take the reading material at face value. Reading material that, as far as he knows, came from a dubious source -- witches. ]

Don't you know Arachnophobia is old news? We're supposed to be allies or whatever, so lets just cut the crap and get me back to the Academy already.

WHO: Death the Kid, Maka Albarn, Spirit "Deathscythe" Albarn, and whoever else happens to show up!
WHAT: Maka and Kid stop by Spirit's apartment and discover a mess. This may or may not eventually lead to the adornment of apartments in Christmas decorations, it depends on how things go.
WHEN: December 7th
WHERE: Spirit's apartment
WARNINGS: Sometimes the meisters swear, idk.

"It's locked."

The two Meisters - one an athletic girl with her pale hair tied up in slender pigtails that fell to her shoulders, the other a sallow and gaunt youth with three white stripes in his own black hair - stood before the door leading into the apartment of one Deathscythe. Just down the hall from their own.

Death the Kid glanced at Maka, placed his hands behind his back and turned sharply away on a heel, coughing conspicuously.

"I'll give you to the count of three to open up, Spirit."

You know, just in case he's home.

Why knock when you have a vivacious young Meister willing to kick the door open, after all? So much more efficient than being patient!

[If one is out and about in the main city of Genessia, there's a good chance that they will bump into a man standing on a soap box, wearing a white robe and with gold trim. A middle-aged man, with white hair and a short beard. He's shouting at the top of his lungs and a rather large group of people have assembled.]

Gather round children! I have seen something amazing with my own eyes! Our god walks among us and has revealed himself to me! He has shown me the truth of his glory, and it was an experience that changed everything I knew about life!

He can provide us what we all desire the most! The innermost workings of our hearts are laid bare before Him! Soon, he will descend upon this world, and will bless the faithful, and strike down the wicked! Give yourself to the god that walks among us, and you too can share in the glory that is our merciful god!

[Kefka watched on from the shadows, pleased with the performance of the spell. He was worried it wouldn't work on a native of a world free of the Warring Triad's influence. He had to stifle the giggle that would've given his alleyway vantage point.]

[OOC: Replies will most likely come from the preacher unless otherwise specified.]

Return me to my friends. [Erza stands in the middle of the room, body still beaten and bruised from the battle she was just in. Bandages covered her chest; black pants flared out at her ankles, with red flames dripping down the cuffs. She's been beaten severely, black and purple bruises covering her form where the clothes failed to.]

At once. [That's all she has to say on the matter.]

While I have gotten some more information than I originally had regarding the Faunus and their situation in their world, I now have some more... pointed questions. Primarily about the organization called the White Fang.

[This time around, Mewtwo's not hiding his face. If anything, he's hoping his inhuman appearance will earn some trust points out of any White Fang people present.]

[When the feed turns on, you can see a very unhappy blonde shivering. Rikku was covering herself with a blanket, trying to stay warm.]

Okay, I get that seasons change and so does the weather, but can we really just.... you know... Skip winter?

Please?

Seriously.... I have a feeling it's only going get colder and I'm freezing.

[Although It doesn't help that she basically has beach wear on....]

All I want is to relax in a chair on the beach with warm -- but comfortable -- weather. I'd have a nice fruity drink in my hands at all times and a good amount of attractive men attending to me.

Now that's the perfect scenario right there! Even Sparke has been developing a little cold...

[With that being said, the camera shifts to the little Pikachu, that -- for some reason -- has on a red scarf much like Rikku's and a towel that's being used as a blanket to fit the tiny size.]

How could you bare to let him down like this, Genessia? Where's your compassion?

[And with a hmph, she turns it off as she's picking up Sparke (without being shocked).]

WHO: Professor Stein & Death the Kid
WHAT: Who doesn't want to know what their professor might've been like at (almost) their own age?
WHEN: November 28th
WHERE: THE HOSPITAL
WARNINGS: Considering Stein, self-harm and vivisections.

Like Spirit, Death came to call on Stein while convalescing at the hospital. Unlike with Spirit, Death the Kid had the courtesy of at least waiting until proper visitor's hours. )

[Luke has been having a rough go the last few weeks, and he's primarily kept to himself. But the loneliness is starting to bother him--without working with Satsuki he's felt rather like there's been nobody to spend time with at all.

As such, he's rectifying this problem the best way he knows how: a puzzle.]

At home, the Professor and I solved lots of puzzles. I know people here don't seem to like them quite as much, but they're still fun to do. So...um, I thought I'd share this one. It's easy to do without any pictures, so I thought it'd be a good one to start with.

"There are ten siblings living together. Let's say that I'm the eighth child. The oldest daughter is the second son's younger sister and the third son's older sister. The fourth son is the second daughter's older brother, and the older daughter's little brother. There are no boys between the third and fourth daughters. So--is the third-youngest child a boy or a girl?"

I've got plenty more puzzles, I keep track of all of them. And I can give you a hint if you need one, too.

[With that, the boy waits. Someone, please answer!]

I think--

[Well, hello, Genessia, you done being nutso? If not, too bad, because Maka is here anyway rolling a ring back and forth on what looks to be a desk. Since when does she have a ring? Who knows, she wears gloves mostly so how would anyone know. What's she thinking? About that--]

I'm getting rusty doing all this hanging back stuff, I haven't fought with a weapon or even had a spar in a while. Guess I don't make much time for it with work.

[A pause.]

Bah, I'm just making excuses, I'm starting to sound as lazy as Soul. Anybody know about a place where weapons can be bought or something like that?

[Yep, that's...that's definitely a thing.]

06 September 2014 @ 06:16 pm
WHO: Death the Kid and YOU
WHAT: After having become something of a recluse for a few weeks, Kid has started more actively exploring the city and its outlying regions. Should anyone have a hankering to meet an honest-to-goodness god (or grim reaper) and survive the encounter relatively unscathed (unless you're Laharl), this is one's chance!
WHEN: Throughout the first week of September!
WHERE: Feasibly anywhere, but initially around the main city.
WARNINGS: None yet, but that may change.

Move your feet. )

WHO: Death the Kid and Maka Albarn
WHAT: Talking about ~feelings~
WHEN: 8/16 (backdated like whoa)
WHERE: In their apartment
WARNINGS: May contain lethal amounts of Seriousness and Stupidity

[One would think that things would get better after the arrival of Maka's Weapon partner and BFF Soul. Well...that was before Maka spent nearly two hours in the bathroom listening to Kid's wailing about how she's forgotten to groom herself. Soul did his part to keep Kid from barging in and doing the washing of her himself...thank goodness for him. Hopefully this is not something that gets back to her dad.

Speaking of her dad, Maka remembers that she said she would talk to Kid for him. Why she's intent on doing her dad any favors, she doesn't entirely know, but Kid has a lot of responsibility on him now and as his friend and the leader of the team, there has to be open and honest communication with him. And the general message of "hey, I'm here for you."

So after drying her hair (holding off on putting it into her usual pigtails for now) and changing into a new set of clothes, Maka heads out to find Kid--maybe he'll stop being mad at her now that she's fixed up.]

17 August 2014 @ 05:20 pm
[ Soul's read over everything a handful of times in order to make sure this isn't bullshit. He's also making sure to pinch himself a handful of times to make sure it's not a messed up dream. He's been really disappointed by the affirmation of both. Maybe it's prank. A really elaborate, really bad prank.

Either way, after leaving the Bay and making sure to get himself a little less freaked out by getting to and looking around the city, he finally decided to try and give this video feed a try. He almost looks bored, especially if you don't know him well, instead of possibly a little worried. ]

Tch. This is so uncool.

[ Is that it? Seriously? Soul was never one to be very verbose, at least. He sighs a little in irritation, because obviously he can't just leave it at that. ]

If anyone's seen a girl with blonde pigtails and some anger management issues who goes by Maka running around, can you tell her her weapon's looking for her? Or anyone from the Academy responding would be great, I guess.

[ And with that, he's going to choose a place to sit and stay still because when you're lost that's supposed to be the best thing to do, right? :( Until someone finds you. ]

09 August 2014 @ 12:11 pm
[When the feed clicks on, a woman can be seen staring into the camera wearing a rather recognizable scarf to anyone that's met Laharl.]

Oy, Genessia, you're late on your tribute again. C'mon people, pudding cups aren't that big a tax so get on it. I'm hungry.

04 August 2014 @ 07:45 pm
[In the newly cleared streets of Genessia City, there is a pink Cadillac Eldorado driving down the street, driven by a truly massive gentleman in a white suit with gold trim, gauntlets, and shoulder spikes. On the hood of the car is the emblem of Honnouji Academy is emblazoned.]

[Should anyone appear interested, the driver will pull up alongside the interested party and offer a ride in his taxi, for a reasonable rate.]

04 August 2014 @ 07:57 pm
[Video]

[The screen starts on, but the area is dark and shadowed as the man using the phone is still working on managing the camera just right. Currently, he has his fingers over the camera.]

Did anyone see that creepy guy with the mask just a few minutes ago? Who said nothing?

Is this thing even on? Oh, there's a green light--

[Finally, fingers move away from the lens to reveal a pale redhead who peered at the phone with the gaze of someone who was still trying to get the image to clear.

He waits, as if expecting another face to appear to respond, like it would during a proper mirror call. Uncertain if that was how this phone worked, he sighed.]

Well, I'm not sure if anyone is watching, but the my name is Spirit Albarn, Death Scythe. And my daughter is here too. If you so much as touch her, I will kill you.

[Not the best intro there, Spirit.]

03 August 2014 @ 01:08 pm
[Maka understands perfectly what she just read. She made sure to read it over and over again at varying speeds to take it all in, like a good student would.

It's just difficult for her to accept. The strange and mystical feeling of the world doesn't sit well with her, can she be certain she didn't just drop into the Witch world inexplicably? Well...maybe the Witches wouldn't be unkind to her, now that they've made peace anyway. But she doesn't feel comfortable without Soul around.

So when the video turns on, there's a teenage girl seeming totally marveled by the level of technology just the communicator shows. ...Then she realizes it's turned on and clears her throat.]

Hello. Maka Albarn, Demon Scythe Meister here...where is Death City? Or Ki--I mean Lord Death?

[That's still so weird for her, Kid's the new Lord Death? Wild.]

...And what's a--?

[Love potion, the word she was going for was love potion, but a shout interrupts her and another person appears on the screen. This time it's a boy with golden eyes and curious white stripes encircling his black hair. He might have been running but doesn't seem out of breath as he checks over Maka with a fussing worry that only someone really obsessive would have.]

Maka, are you all right? Have you seen Soul anywhere? I can't find Liz and Patti myself--oh, your pigtails are crooked!

[The boy immediately gets to work with untying and fixing the girl's pigtails while she stares at him. Finally she sighs, leaving Kid to his grooming (he's only doing it because he's worried and needs something to work on), and shifts her gaze to the camera.]

If anybody from the Academy could report in, we'd appreciate it.

[If anybody comes across them anywhere, Maka will still be sitting patiently, waiting for Kid to finish the fixing. Kid on the meanwhile will be piling questions on her about who what where and why.]

((ooc: Replies may come from both Maka and Kid!))
