WHO: Tenzin and OPEN
WHAT: Tenzin's getting in some airbending training, just because.
WHEN: 12/10
WHERE: Garden Park
Tenzin had been here far too long. Much longer than he intended to be and the thought was really starting to get under his skin. When he first arrived, he was well aware of the fact that his new found airbenders from home were in grave danger and that he was unable contact any of them, or anyone from home really, didn't serve him well either. He was worried. The only thing that kept him hopeful that the entire situation might have been okay was Korra, she was the Avatar afterall.
But even that didn't seem to be enough to calm his mind. Tenzin found himself waking up at the crack of dawn and taking a much needed stroll through the city--it was the only way he was able to keep his head somewhat clear at least. The park was peaceful enough for Tenzin that he stopped his journey there and started to airbend in the quiet atmosphere. It had been awhile since he had done so, so now was a great opportunity.
Sighing to himself, he raised his hands in the proper fashion and begun to walk around in slow circles. Then, when he was absolutely certain no one was around, both his arms lunged straight forward, one after the other. Strong winds came from each hand and almost knocked down one of the trees in their paths, only slightly tiliting it to one side was a loud crack.
So far so good.

She reached up quickly, grabbing her hat as the wind rushed by her, her look of wonder quickly shifting to one of joy. She rushed forward, floating up to Tenzin's height, poking his shoulder over and over.
"Hey. Hey! Mister! Hey! That was amazing! How did you do that. Is it magic? Can you see me? Hey!"

What in the-?
"Um...yes. It was-" Nah, he paused again. "I'm sorry, but how are you doing that? That's not airbending, is it?"
It couldn't be....right?

She let go just as quickly, drifting back, remaining at his height. Her third eye drifted up, bobbing gently from side to side. "Airbending?" Her head tilted. "What's that? Air doesn't bend. It's air! You're silly." the artery over her left shoulder twisted into a heart. "I'm a satori youkai! That's how I'm flying mister. All youkai can fly!"

When he feels a strong gust of wind whirl past, and sees what's going on, he stops, and his ears turn in the direction of the winds origin. He tips his head to follow, and as he peers curiously, he scratches his cheek with his only hand.
"My my, you really do see something new every day."
no subject
"I've seen a couple of strange things here already...is airbending really that much different?"
no subject
"Own of course. Everything is strange. From top to bottom to upside-down."

The airbender, however, was still here and making quite the scene for those who happened to be around to see it — the young Fire Prince included.
"Are you trying to get someone's attention?" He asked as he approached. "You're going to wind up attracting the wrong kind of attention. You're lucky I'm the one who saw that and not my sister."

Tenzin stroked his beard thoughtfully when he spoke and shook his head. "Normally I would agree with you, but I don't think bending is all that out of place here. I...don't it's as much as a concern." Though Zuko did have a point about Azula. "Where is your sister?"

Zuko was still blissfully unaware of Iroh's plan to abandon his claim to the throne and step aside to make way for his nephew.
Right now, he's just the Avatar's firebending teacher — or at least he was for a while before he was brought here. Zuko hasn't stepped foot back in their proper world in a good six months.
"Attending to her duties," he answered, crossing his arms over his chest. "There aren't supposed to be any more airbenders, and while I think she understands that the war and all the issues from home don't matter or carry any weight here, I wouldn't put it past her to not care and see to her 'duty' as our father's daughter anyway."
He was unsure of how much he should tell this man. Zuko could play devil's advocate and plead for peace with his sister, but there was only a very small handful of people who knew that Zuko had betrayed the Fire Nation and ran off to join the Avatar. And if this wasn't Aang... Then who was he? He certainly resembled the twelve-year-old, and it wasn't just because of the airbending tattoos.

Mewtwo had been wandering the park, observing the flora and trying to decipher just where he'd gone wrong with his attempts to grow berry producing plants. He wasn't having much luck as the only flora that seemed remotely similar to anything he was familiar with were nut or cone bearing trees. No berries.
Of course, that's when he could feel the surge in localized wind patterns below him while he was perched on a branch. Looking down, he saw Tenzin, producing gusts of wind that could even rival the whirlwinds a full-grown Pigeot could produce. He pulled his oversized cloak around him so as to obfuscate his form as much as possible and dropped down, positioning himself behind Tenzin before making himself known with the translation of his communicator.
"How did you do that?"
no subject
"The wind? It's something we call airbending. You've never seen it before?" He knew he hadn't or else he would not have asked about it in the first place, but Tenzin still pressed the question.

Mewtwo couldn't help but arch an eyebrow beneath his hood, resisting the urge to flick his tail.
"I have seen techniques used to manipulate air currents to achieve a desired effect, but never from a human."
