[...this is not what he had been expecting at all.
he did not think he would wake in such a place, the last he remembered he was in the white fang headquarters. it was anything but a pleasant surprise to find out that he was no longer in remnant, no longer with other faunus.
adam was angry.
the faunus always had an awful temper, but this was ridiculous. of course, he decided to use the blasted device he was given, just as instructed.]
How delightful. Tell me, is there a reason I was kidnapped and brought to such a realm? I'll get answers one way or another.
[be it through small talk or force, he was determined to find out about his surroundings.]

adam walked a bit closer to blake so he was standing beside her, and he glanced out to beyond the bay. adam had a feeling that blake's ideals and his no longer matched up, and that in itself was unsettling to him. he knew that she still wanted the faunus to be free to live however they want, but in a different way. he wanted to understand her, so he wasn't about to go on a rampage. not just yet. if he was going to stay here, and at least try and cooperate with blake, he needed to tell her something as well.]
Blake, before you show me around... [he pauses, wondering if this will just cause another argument between them.]
...Weiss Schnee contacted me while I was waiting for you. However, I'm without the White Fang, I have no other backup, I'm not about to go and cause trouble when I'm in the dark.
Do you understand what I'm saying? [as long as he can keep his anger in check, she has nothing to fear.]
We might have some differences, but I'm no lunatic.

All she'd ever wanted was a better world for their people, but never this way. All that time, she'd seen the White Fang as a glimmer of hope, but now....
Then he mentions Weiss, and her head snaps up, eyes going wide for a moment. Too late, she realized she had probably just given herself away. If it came down to Adam and Weiss--!]
Adam.. [No, he may be many things, but he was not a lunatic. What he was, was careful, methodical, and calculating when he had a goal in mind. She frowned slightly.] Are you saying you're willing to leave her alone?
no subject
blake knew of weiss then. she had mentioned that she had friends here, teammates. and it was slowly starting to come into place. blake and the schnee heiress were companions. he didn't know what hurt more, that she really couldn't trust him or that she was fine moving on without him.
or was she? he didn't really know.
adam placed his free hand in his pocket and he walked a little way ahead of her in silence. he was mulling over her choice of words. to leave her alone. that was a difficult situation in itself. if it came down to it, if his assumptions were true and he was kidnapped here thanks to all of these wretched humans, he would want answers from weiss the most.
he's not above kidnapping. he's not above killing.]
Hmm... [he just makes a noise in thought, pausing after a bit and he turns back to her. he had been frowning, but then he simply sighed. he shrugged lightly.]
If we're going to be in the same place for a while, at least until I get some answers, then I'll be honest with you. I'll want to observe her if anything. I don't trust her, and I don't trust anyone else. But I.... yeah, I'll leave her alone. [he was trying at least.]
no subject
Except, no. If Adam threatened her friends, she knew exactly where she'd be standing. If it was anybody else, she would have accepted his word, but the Schnee Family heiress? That was far too tempting a prize for any White Fang member.]
I mean it. [She steps forward, looking up at those slits in his mask over his eyes, an action that would likely have caused more than one round of nervous gasps back home.
But Blake had always been the only one to never back down from Adam Taurus.]
She isn't responsible for this. She's trapped here just the same as we are.
no subject
but for whatever reason, the cat faunus had some kind of magic that could tame him.
adam stared back down at her, unmoving. he could see her so closely at this point, the way she stared up at him with such determination was an extra edge on her part. she was small, sure, but damn she had a gaze that could make anyone back down. even him.
like hell he'd ever admit that though.]
The White Fang would have my head if they knew about this.
[he frowned at her again.]
Since I'm listening to you. And leaving the heiress alone. You're still the only one that can change my mind.
no subject
[When he agrees, some of the tension drains from her shoulders, but just a little bit. But she'll just keep frowning as long as he wants to. She'll even up the ante and fold her arms.]
[Hmph. They'd have his head? She was the deserter who was choosing to stand beside a member of the Schnee family.]
There's no White Fang here. There's no Schnee Dust Company here either, as a matter of fact. Whatever we have to deal with back home, we're all stuck in this together.
no subject
but she's right, no one was here from it.]
Alright.
[he backed up from her, his hands going up in defense.]
Alright Blake, you win. I won't touch the Schnee girl and I won't touch your friends either. I'll have the biggest problem on my hands anyways if I attempt anything.
[another light shrug.] You're the toughest opponent I've ever faced, and I don't think I've ever won.
no subject
[She sighed quietly and backed up when he gave in. It was good enough, and a relief to hear from him. Now what? She couldn't just leave him on his own out here. He was likely to just pick the first place out of the cold and sulk for the rest of the day.
It was strange how easily she slipped back into the old ways of thinking. She needed to look out for Adam, it was as simple as that.]
I guess we should find you a place to stay. Did you get your pamphlet and money from the pod?
no subject
adam started to walk ahead once more along the bay, glancing around as he did.]
Yeah.... [he frowned.] I guess I already picked a place to stay. A hyperactive human contacted me and pretty much demanded a roommate.
[but wait he really couldn't back down- DON'T JUDGE HIM.] ...She has healing powers, I could use that.
[covers it up by explaining he has something to gain.]
no subject
wait, did she just hear that? She must have because she's staring at Adam like he suddenly sprouted a second head out of his shoulder. Did he just say a human offered to be his roommate? And he ACCEPTED?]
Did you just--?
[Okay. Healing powers... sort of explained it. But that's still very odd.]
You're going to live with a human?
no subject
She wanted a roommate, but I managed to say I'll be living in the same building. Away from her. I'm just using her for her healing abilities if I need it, I'll be inspecting this place entirely after all.
But same building nonetheless.
[did that make a little more sense?]
no subject
... Alright. Which building is it?
no subject
Garden Park?
Either way, I probably won't even be there very often.
