1st Flight | Video

[He's decided that the world must have a sick sense of humor. Why else, out of everyone out there, would this happen to him? Had the whole ocean fiasco not been enough? Disgruntled and wary of the information he's been given, he keeps the venom in his voice at a minimum, opting for a more aloof reaction. He holds the camera in such a way that suggests he's accustomed to being in front of the camera.]

This is too much to be considered a mere hindrance, but I suppose I'll have to accept it for now.

[Accept it, observe and re-adapt. The only comfort he takes is in the (hopeful) fact that it's temporary.]

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Kurama, from the world known as Earth. The odds of any of you realizing what that means are lower than I'd prefer, but I can work my way up once again. You still have idols, don't you? But since we're on the subject, for anyone willing to volunteer the information, what world are you from? Have any of you heard of Tokyo, Japan?

[edit/ooc: feel free to use his permissions post!]

[ Weiss is pretty sure this guy is topping one of her most offensive lists. At least for the day. ]

I'm sure you don't realize it, but you are speaking to the heiress to one of the largest interkingdom companies in my world, capable of filling an entire concert hall for a concert on top of that, and a highly skilled huntress in training. Don't talk to me like I can't afford a CD.

I'm very good at adapting, though I'm not living in bad circumstances either.

[ She had a house with her team and they weren't stuck in a tiny apartment anymore, and if the little dog bark off screen is any indication, she wasn't in dire straits. Still, there was a lot to be improved. Something that had come to her attention more than once lately. ]

Even if it isn't exactly up to my standards yet.
whiteas: (As you were.)

In Remnant, huntsmen and huntresses are individuals who protect the peace. There are police, but police aren't equipped to handle certain things, like the creatures of Grimm. They're monsters without souls who hunt humans. We have an unprecedented time of peace right now, but we are still confined to four kingdoms on the entire planet, save for a few outlying villages.. many of which are known to disappear overnight without a trace.

[ Of course, there are plenty of other problems like the White Fang, and what Weiss intends to do with her training once it's complete has more to do with her family... but he hardly needs all the details right now. ]

My name is Weiss Schnee, in case you wanted to trade names at any point.

Most worlds don't seem to have problems like that, fortunately.

[ Plenty of other problems, sure, but an entire species out to kill humanity? Most don't seem to at least. Some. Not most. ]

Lucky for you fighting isn't a necessary skill here. Even if you're completely useless on the battlefield there are plenty of good people who are willing to help, Kurama. Frankly I think everyone could use a little more entertainment anyway.
whiteas: (Listen up.)

It will. Even time won't pass back home while you're here, so you have nothing to worry about.

[ Weiss can sing, and she's good at it, but just talking about it doesn't make her smile, let alone one that isn't fake. She's not the most smiley person anyway. ]

Well, you may have to start from the bottom here, but if you have real talent it won't be long before you're back to where you were. Provided you don't go around treating every girl like they're poor enough that you're doing them a favor lending them a CD, anyway.

People come and go and their memories reflect different portions in times than other people from their world, but no one remembers any of the other people from their world missing while they were in it. Occasionally people have been known to leave and come back and on rare occasion they retain their memories and express that they haven't missed anything. Most of the time they just forget everything about this place, as if it never happened, but occasionally things like that do happen so we do have evidence that we don't have to worry about the passage of time while we're here.

Most people who don't have talent but perform still think they have talent regardless of reality. But if you have experienced success in the past I doubt you're one of those people.

Yes, and is entirely capable of creating essentially "clone" cities if you're willing to pay the price. Which is how I've been to Tokyo, despite that it doesn't exist in my world. It can be a little overwhelming at first, but you'll get used to it. It is like a vacation except you still have to work, though, you're right.

If you make it here, I'll hear you eventually anyway.

That's a very good attitude to have.

If you do that, I'd appreciate it if you made the invite for two.

I think of it as an opportunity to improve myself and have new experiences that wouldn't be possible in my world. Even in the event I don't remember it after this, some kind of muscle memory might stick.

[ Indeed. ] I appreciate it.

[ Weiss rolled her eyes at that. She was a person who was always changing and learning, even if she was already capable of many things and she didn't like the idea of there never being anything to improve on. ]

If you've reached the height of your potential as a performer you're looking at failing soon when people don't start seeing anything new. Maybe you should spend your time here looking for something to improve on.

Mutual appreciation, then.

I don't think that'll be a problem. Has anyone explained the layout of this place to you?

[ If he's new he probably doesn't know quite a few things. Weiss likes him well enough to offer to help, at least. ]
whiteas: (Hello sexy mancakes.)

You need to actually develop your status here before people are willing to help, believe me. Anyway, the city you're in right now if you're still where you started is called Genessia. It has fairly modern technology and is generally peaceful provided its citizens don't start anything. Unfortunately, it occasionally happens, but it is well protected. Genessia's Guardian is a woman by the name of Tepet Ejava and her Deputy Guardian is called Spirit. It's at the center of four other cities: Fayren, Everglade, Attleton, and Nova City.

Fayren has older technology and a harbor, along with typical magical creatures, blacksmiths, a royal family, the works. Its City Guardian is Princess Azula of the Fire Nation and the Deputy Guardian is Prince Zuko of the Fire Nation. As long as you stay in the city, you aren't in danger of getting attacked usually since they do a very good job, but if you go out into the wilderness there are things like dragons, ogres, all sorts of things. Same concept applies to the subarchways there. Incidentally, at the very least you'll meet the Deputy Guardian since he's who my +1 is going to be.

Everglade is slightly more modern, very foggy, and possibly haunted. The City Guardian there is named Yuna and her Deputy is a girl named Rikku.

Attleton is something like a small suburban town. There's a bit of street crime and it's pretty boring except for the Colosseum-- I'm sure you could go watch some fights if you'd like to, since you said you don't do it yourself. The City Guardian election was a mess recently and I think they had ties, so they're a little unprotected at the moment. [ Since the announcement happened after Kurama's intro.. Oh well. ]

Last is Nova City. It has the most advanced technology of each of the cities and therefore has the most booming economy and advanced lifestyle. There are aliens there, too, but I don't think there's anywhere for them to actually have left from so I hesitate to call them that. The City Guardian for Nova City is Satsuki Kiryuin, a very respectable military figure.

[ Weiss is definitely a bit of a know-it-all and definitely makes it a point to have any information she has memorized so she can share... ]

Incidentally, Genessia City itself is the only city that can't produce subarchways, which are paths to copies of the worlds of current residents within this world. All of the other cities can.
