One: Video

[After waking up with no idea where she was on a mysterious boat, and moving up from said boat to discover a city she did not recognize in the least, Yang had just plopped herself down on a nearby bench. When it came to weirdness and oddity, the teen generally needed a few minutes to really process through all of it, so that's what she was doing. It wasn't helping very much, but at least the urge to scream was starting to fade?]

[Instead she turned on the walkie-talkie thing, flipping slowly through the options until she found what she hoped was some sort of video feature. On a social network? Something like that. It would have to do for now, anyway.]

Uh. Hey. I'm Yang. [She gives the screen a little wave.] Not really sure what's going on? I found these pamphlet things but, didn't really read 'em yet.

[She pauses, and her expression turns a bit frustrated as she points over her shoulder, back towards where she had emerged after waking up.]

Look, anybody else just wake up a boat? 'cause that's a thing that happened, and it's still freaking me out a little bit.

[She sucks in a breath and then runs her hand through her hair, tugging on it in frustration.] Right, anyway. I guess I'll just...read these? 'cause that'll help... Thanks.

[She waves again and then clicks the screen off.]

[ This is Weiss's favorite part where she gets to show off how knowledgeable she is and infodump at people. ]

You're in a place called Genessia. Essentially, it's another world we've been transported two. Genessia can be separated into five cities, the center of which is Genessia City. The outer four are Fayren, Attleton, Everglade, and Nova City. Genessia is fairly modern and also where we live, I'll take care of having a key made for you.

Fayren is a high-fantasy sort of situation, it's a good place to train, and it has a subarchway to basically a clone of Vale so we can still get ammo and Dust. Definitely don't get in trouble there because I really don't want to have to take sides.

Attleton is a little suburban area and it's pretty boring except for the Colosseum, which is excellent for training since you can technically fight to the death and somehow or other you just wake up in the infirmary area. [ There's also a fight club but she's pretty sure that she's not supposed to talk about it so one of these days she'll just.. drag Yang there, why not. ]

I think Everglade is haunted, but I don't go there often. Nova City is really high-tech. Think Atlas with aliens. Oh, and before everyone tries to mention it to you without explaining it [ because she's explained this a few times already ] time doesn't flow back home, so I've been here for almost a year and you probably won't have even noticed I was gone. No one's going to notice you're gone either.

[ She's trying to think if she missed anything immediately important now... ]

[That is a really nice infodump, Weiss. It's informative and detailed and has everything a newcomer would need. Unfortunately, she's giving it to Yang, and Yang does not deal with weirdness well.]

Woah woah woah slow down. High Fantasy? Fight to the death? What?!

You can also die outside of the Colosseum, obviously, but there's a whole other cost situation to come back from that for that which I learned from... someone from the White Fang.

[ Weiss is realizing how ridiculous this is sounding and it's showing in her tone. ]

You should probably just trust me on it, Yang, and worry about the more complicated stuff later.

Yeah, I guess. [She sucks in a breath and gathers herself up.]

Right. Anyway. What do I do now?

Has anyone offered to come pick you up and take you to our house yet?

I think Neptune said something about it but then we got sidetracked. Just point me in the right direction, I can figure it out.

If you're at the Bay still, head north until you get to Dogwood Avenue, then East until you reach 28th. If you start smelling chocolate, you're headed in the right direction. There's a candy factory three blocks away.

I'll play with Frost in front of the house so you know which one it is.

[ Her video briefly goes to a tiny lil dog nestled in her lap so Yang knows what she's talking about. ]

Yeah, I am. Ruby found me already. [Oh hey, way more important thing.]

You got a dog!

Oh. If you're with Ruby, you probably don't need me to wait outside then. Frost is small enough even playing with him inside isn't exactly a big deal if Blake isn't involved.

[ Seriously, this lil teacup dog still bothers Blake. Weiss doesn't get it. ]

Yes! His name is Frost and he's very well trained except for where he sleeps. You can blame Ruby for that.

I'm not...really sure where she got off too, really. You know her. I'll head towards you now.

[footsteps!]

He's a dog, he's supposed to sleep wherever he wants. Or with you.

Okay.

[ Weiss is picking her dog up and heading out to the front porch now and lets Frost down. He stays on the porch while she backs away from the house so she can show Yang a front view so she knows what to look for. ]

He's supposed to sleep in his dog bed or on the floor, where I was training him to sleep until Ruby said she'd watch him while I went to the Dream Docks for a week. At which point she completely undid that by letting him sleep with her what I assume is every night. He barks until I let him up now and he cannot sleep there, especially when Zuko's over.

[And more walking as Yang heads in that direction.]

Dogs are supposed to sleep on the bed Weiss, they are companions, Ruby was right!

But more importantly, we get to have boys over, huh?

[She sounds jokingly excited.]

If they're supposed to sleep in my bed, then why do they sell dog beds?

Well... Blake and I both do, Ruby just never knows about it because they always come in through our windows.

That's where they sleep during the day when you're awake. [Obviously.]

Blake has a boyfriend too, huh?

That makes zero sense. Besides, he likes to sleep in my lap or in my purse during the day.

[ And that probably has more to do with Weiss absolutely adoring him to the point that she just takes him along as long as she isn't going to work or somewhere he can't go.. ]

She and Sun are together.

You keep the dog in your purse. [Yang just sighs and shakes her head.] Never mind.

Huh. Good for them. [She hesitates, pausing in her walk, her expression distant.]

This is all so weird.

What? He gets tired after about a block. He has tiny legs.

[ Weiss considers asking what's wrong, but she has an idea. ]

You said you didn't want to know where each day would lead you, didn't you? I think this counts.

That's not- [Yang reaches up to run her hand through her hair in frustration, then sighs.] Never mind. No sense brooding, right?

[Her grin is back. Trust that smile to always come back, even if she doesn't really mean it.]

So I didn't have a boyfriend or anything, right? During all this time I don't remember. Man that'd be awkward...

It's hard to get used to at first, especially when everyone insists you've been there the whole time. I've learned to stop bringing it up unless someone you bring it up first. So unless you ask questions, I'm not going to answer them. You're here now and that's what's important.

As for a boyfriend, not that you told us about. I think you went on a date with Attleton's guardian once, but that was after a date auction-- which I played the price up on for you, so it wasn't cheap. [ What are friends for other than to break the bank of men who want to date you? ]

I wouldn't even know where to start, question-wise. [She starts walking again, then actually laughs.]

I was in a date auction?!

It was for charity, and so was I. Though I never did find out who signed me up. It mostly resulted in my boyfriend spending far more money than he had at the time to go on a date with me thanks to Sun trying to pull a good friend thing and someone else trying to play a prank.

[If Yang had to guess blindly, she'd guess she would be the one to volunteer Weiss. But who knows?]

Your boyfriend says he's a prince, aren't they supposed to be wildly rich?

[ She would've been right. ]

He's a prince back in his world like I'm an heiress back in ours. Back then, he worked in a tea shop. Which he was really good at, but he had other things he had to focus on career-wise.

[ Some of which she'll be filling Yang in on when they're in person and not talking on the network, but there are some things even she has to keep quiet about. ]

Must be weird, worrying about money now, huh? [You're almost a normal person, Weiss!]

I think I'm almost there? Kind of guessing.

It won't be for too much longer. [ She's had it up to here with not being able to afford everything she wants when she wants it. ]

From what I can see, it looks like it. If it makes you feel any better, once you get here I think you have a motorcycle in the garage, so you won't have to walk everywhere.
