[Action] At the hospital
WHO: Anyone~
WHAT: Koishi is in the hospital after getting hit by a tank. Blame Keifka.
WHERE: Genessia Hospital.
WHEN: Backdated to Feb 5th-6th.
WARNINGS: Mild description of Koishi's non-human anatomy, injuries, and treatment. Overwhelming cuteness. Potential feels.
With the degree of damage to her bones and a punctured lung, there was no way to help Koishi without surgery and working on her had not been very easy for the doctors involved. Her internal anatomy didn't even remotely resemble a human's, despite having a similar appearance.
Fortunately the operation went well, the little youkai more robust than many of the humans that were normally worked on. Her bones had broken into fragments large enough to reassemble, and her healing factor eliminated the need for metal plates, the bone glue more than sufficient. Coupled with the blood transfusion from her sister Koishi was expected to make a full and speedy recovery.
***
Koishi was allowed a room to herself as she recovered to increase the ease of observation for the doctors and to minimize her bothering of the other patients. Much of her upper back and her entire left arm were wrapped in a rigid cast reinforced with steel rods. A plastic receiver for an IV had been placed in a large vein above Koishi's left shoulder, the cast wrapped around it an ensuring it wouldn't move.
While the surgery had been easy, her recovery was more difficult due to her boundless energy and impatience. The little youkai had already broken the plaster of several casts, the doctors finally buckling her down to the bed to keep her in place, though they were sure to keep her supervised via several cameras.
The icing on the cake was how ineffective anesthetics were on her metabolism. Anything oral had little to no effect. Painkillers given through an IV seemed to work well enough in youkai sized doses, though anything short of completely knocking her out failed to calm her. To make matters worse, the painkillers seemed to make her forget she was injured altogether, Koishi hurting herself more than once in her efforts to alleviate her boredom, and further justifying the heavy straps keeping hr in bed.
Other than that she was a pretty good patient. She allowed the doctors and nurses to run tests and tend to her. Perhaps only because it was something new to break up her day, but it no doubt helped them immensely. She did fuss some at first until her hat was returned, the beloved article currently hanging on a coat rack in one corner of the room.
So now, a day after the surgery, she was stuck. Strapped to a bed, ignoring the cartoons a kind nurse had turned on for her, squirming impatiently, dying for something to happen. For someone to visit.

"YO, PARTNER! How ya doing, kid?"
no subject
"Mister Stripes!" Absolutely elated, the little youkai already scooting sideways in the bed toward him. Or at least as much as the restraints allowed. At least she was already sitting up in bed. "I'm feeling better! A nice man in a white coat with a dangly thing around his neck poked me in the shoulder and that hurt but then he attached that bag to it and now my arm feels cold and doesn't hurt." She gestured to the IV bag with her free hand. From the looks of it the bag was filled with some pretty strong stuff.

"What... oh... OH!" She tried to sit up more. "It was that big tower and- ow! And Mister Big's car was- ow! And-OW!" She fell back onto the pillow, huffing dejectedly.
"Mm... Miss Music and I went up to attack the tower after leaving Miss White to fight the fake Mister Big. There was a room full of important things and there was this big tank in it and the tank drove into me and hit a wall. It hurt a lot... No fair I wanna get up. I want a hug. Mister Striiiipes! I want a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuug!"

He listened to her explanation with growing anger. She was his partner, damn it, and he couldn't let people just go around hitting her with tanks! He chuckled at her request.
"Okay, okay, have a hug, then. Have all the hugs you want!" Betelgeuse told her, opening his arms to her. He never turned down hugs or kisses. He didn't get many of them, after all. "Just tell me this. Do you know who was driving the tank?"
no subject
"No. There was no one driving the tank. It was all alone. If someone was driving it I could have broken their mind and then no one would have been in danger. There was thought in it but I couldn't really do much about it..." It must have been an AI or at the very least remote controlled.
Koishi looked to one side and picked up an apple, holding it up to Betelgeuse. "Here Mister Stripes. You can have this. The apples are really sweet and good."
no subject
Betelgeuse wasn't sure the tank would tell him anything, but it was worth a try. He wasn't just going to let the near killing of his business partner and friend slide. If nothing else, it was bad for business. He took the apple with a grin. Maybe he'd get lucky and it had a worm!
"Thanks, kid. Looks delicious."
no subject
"The tank is broken now. There wast anything left after Miss Music was done with it. She shot so many missiles at it and it exploded until there was this dark scorch mark on the ground and a few pieces here and there. It was really neat!" Her smile only grew. "Mister Stripes! Be sure to ask Miss Music to try out for the danmaku school! She's really fast at flying and a really really strong fighter!
Well at least her cheerful attitude hadn't been damaged in the slightest.
no subject
"Yeah, I'll invite her. Who's Miss Music, again?"
If anything, it would give him a chance to question her about the tanks and see if she knew more than Koishi appeared to.
no subject
"Mister Stripes? Where can I get chicken like that? It looks really delicious and I want to get some soon. Maybe we could all go together! Do you like chicken?"

She squirmed. "Mister Stripes! I really wanna get up! Please? It's really uncomfortable." She leaned up, flinching a little as the cast creaked. "Ow... Ow! ow..." And fell back once more. "It hurts a lot when I move..."
no subject
Betelgeuse didn't want to wait any longer than necessary to talk to Miss Music. He was angry and needed to act. He wasn't at all sure that Koishi was in any shape to do anything but lay around, despite how energetic she seemed. He didn't think questioning her would be helpful to either of them.

Koishi's aura was growing more heavy the more angry Betelgeuse got. Right. She had empathetic powers. Chilly waves of calm were rolling off of her. Not the most pleasant of sensations but not unpleasant either.
no subject
"Thanks, kiddo," Betelgeuse said, tossing the phone into her lap.
Between taking action and her powers, he felt himself relaxing, though his anger rarely lasted very long. He lit a cigarette, a flame appearing on the tip of his finger.

She reached down and picked up her phone, setting it off to one side again. It seemed she had calmed down too fortunately. "Can we get ice-cream after the chicken? Miss White gave me ice-cream when I arrived and it was really really good."

"Mister Stripes? What's your absolute favorite food?"
no subject
He thought about her question, then shrugged.
"Aw, hell, kid. I eat anything. It's one of my trademarks. I do love pasta, though. Give me a good plate of lasagna and I'm on cloud nine!"
no subject
"Ohh..." A pause. "What's lasagna? I've never had it before. But I know what pasta is. I like pasta a lot."
