[It's not that this is a rough topic, but he's not exactly comfortable asking for advice. So as soon Jean turns on the camera, he decides to just jump right into the subject.]

Question.

How do you handle interviews when you've never done that kind of work before, you're not exactly experienced with handling the public, and you have other commitments that will always come first?

I'm not looking for anything permanent right now, which is something I'm not sure would go over well. On my world, you pretty much stayed in the same field until you were too old, or if you died, but given the unpredictable nature of this place, I don’t know if it’s that much of a problem.

Especially you. How the hell did you manage to get a job like that? I know you're smart, but still. I'm not looking for a desk job, but...you seem like you know what you're doing. Also, do you and Marco work similar hours? I need to know them.

[She had to admit... It had been fun. And... she did accept his invitation to go get some coffee together sometime... With her new job on top of her assistant job though, coffee didn't sound to bad right about now.

But there was something about how this was asked... Before when they had gone to go eat, it hadn't really been a planned thing and really.. She was just trying to find a way to actually socialize with Jean more since they were here. But she had understood -- to a point -- the thought behind those words even then. S

he probably shouldn't have gone along with them, but it had actually helped out in it's own way and... What did it hurt? Besides, it was hard to ignore that he liked her even back home. He had actually taken the attempt to ask her out just now and it may or may not have been just a friendly gesture or anything else but... Mikasa was a straight forward kind of person. As long as he would clearly just ask her out, what did it hurt to actually try it? It had been surprisingly fun last time they did right?

And so besides the slightly surprised look she had unknowingly shown him while deep in thought, she finally realized that she hadn't actually said anything in reply yet.]

O-oh! Uhm... Yeah, coffee would be great. Just let me know when you'd like to go.

[Was that a faint flush on her cheeks? Maybe. Who knows?]

[It was fun, wasn't it? Honestly, he had surprised himself. If it hadn't been for how well the previous outing had gone, he wouldn't have even thought to ask her. But there were no Titans here, which left him with few excuses. Besides, she deserved to enjoy herself too. Hadn't he told her that?

However, he began to doubt himself as the silence lingered. Seconds felt like hours, and he was just about to say something, maybe reassure her that it was fine, coffee sucked anyway, when she spoke.

At least they both match in terms of blushing.]

Ah-- Great! Anytime's fine. You drink coffee in the morning, don't you? We could do it then. Or afternoon. Whatever.

[He shrugs. No big deal.]

You just go for it, don't you? [ l m f a o says the jobless bum.... ]

Do you want to eat? [Scowls. So much scowling.]

Besides, you should be looking for a job too. It's not fair to Mikasa, who's been working this entire time. [And does he look a little fond there? Maybe.]

Is that a real question? [Are you asking her if people need to eat, Jean?] Or is this a trick like the potato thing? I love to eat.

I'm working on it! Really. A lot of the jobs seem to involve food though, and pa used to tell me I'd never be able to work with food. When I was a kid, I used to want to be a baker, but he pointed out I'd just eat all the bread. Something about no self control... [ Ugh, she's just going to ignore Jean's gross crush on Mikasa. Mikasa's swell and all, but come on Jean. ]

[Okay... It was clear she was going to have to have a little talk with Armin about this later, because she didn't know what exactly to feel right now or if this was even right. Besides... Armin had a girlfriend in the other world so he had to have some idea about dating... right?

But that would have to wait until later. Right now... she could use some coffee... Okay, maybe she didn't need to but...

No. No... That was it. She was just tired after a long day of work.. Yep..]

I do but... coffee can be drank at any time and... I could probably use it right about now anyways.

Where would you like to meet up at?

It was a real question. [He's not going to dignify that with an answer.] I know, believe me, I know.

If you could control yourself and be patient, you might get the free leftovers. Or make extra if you have the time. [The longer he tries to picture it, the more disasters he can imagine.] ...Yeah, nevermind, don't work around food. There are other jobs. Why not be a receptionist or something? Just pack a big lunch. [Wow, is he trying to help Sasha?]

I j-just tried to answer the questions honestly, and it seemed to work out. I could help you prepare for an interview, i-if you want?

And I think Marco and I are both working 9-5. [He gives Jean a curious look.] Why?

Except people like you. You know I'm good at being honest. Too good, for most people.

Really? ...You sure you're not too busy?

[He hadn't really thought about how to start on this topic, so remaining blunt seemed like the best bet.] I'm sure you've heard about the announcement by now. Roman? Something could go down at any point, but more likely than not, he'll target Schnee Company, so I'd like to be there when you work just in case. Weiss already gave me permission to visit Marco. She never specified how much.

That's right...people can drink it whenever they want.

[He scratches the shaved part of his head.]

Yeah, I could too, actually. Where are you? I could pick you up.

[That might've come out wrong. Shit.]

We can walk together. Since you've been working.

Well I.. I was on my way home from work, but I... wouldn't mind walking with you.

I can meet up with you.

Unless you wanted to stop by.

Whatever works best for you is fine with me.

[She really doesn't mind.]

[And he ends the video, rushing out. Maybe he looks a little ridiculous, jogging in his dressy-casual attire, but he doesn't want to keep her waiting too long, and he has some pent up energy to begin with. He plans on stopping when he sees her, but he may not notice her before he stops and tries to appear as if he was just walking.]

[With that being decided, she kept a look out for Jean. Soon enough, she caught the glimpse of a figure walking her way; Luckily for him she didn't see how he'd bee rushing over to her. Once she approached him, she waved slightly to him as she took a look at his attire. It was different but... it suited him strangely enough.]

You clean up nice.

[He smiled when he saw Mikasa. It was small, but didn't hold the stresses that were normally there. Any chances of him not blushing were gone as soon as the words left her mouth. He looked at the ground, but he still sounded pleased.]

Thanks. You look nice all the time.

[Someday he could give her a compliment and not sound like a complete idiot. Just not today.]

[And it was something she'd gotten used to, but she appreciated it nonetheless. Instead she nodded as she walked along side him.]

You said you were at an interview right? How did it go?

[Right... And she did have a bone to pick with him about what happened to him. Right now just... didn't seem like a good time to bring it up. She'll just have to wait on that.

Pleasant things, Mikasa....]

[Jean nearly stopped in his tracks, but he caught himself, and was able to mostly look as if her question hadn't caught him off guard.]

I'm still looking. I haven't gotten an interview yet, but it's fine. I guess saying I'm good at dealing with Titans and making sharp turns isn't as impressive here as it is back home.

Ah, right. Well... You'll find something.

[He has obvious leader qualities, though she's not sure if he himself really sees that in him. Although saying something like this seems a little awkward to her, so she'll just go for the implied version that he's qualified.]

No, I suppose not. That's part of the reason why I haven't had a job that actually required fighting at some point for some time to be honest. It's a strange feeling.

I'm sure I will. Don't worry.

[But it had been a while and he was getting worried, so maybe that was more to reassure himself than her.]

It is strange. I need to find stuff to do, to stay busy. Have you felt that? It's not all bad, but it might be better if it's something that doesn't require a lot of sitting.

I have... multiple times while I've been here. It's just... adjusting is taking longer than I thought it would.

[And as they walked, her hand happened to barely brush his. She thought back to when they had been playing the video games, but didn't bother to move her hand. What was going on with her lately? Either way, it didn't stop her from tugging at her scarf with her other hand.]

No one else seems to get that. They either act like this is just some fucking walk in the park, or they've found some way to manage regardless of the fact. But I don't know how--they can't expect us to just suddenly adjust. Even if this place is better. And Armin and Marco already got jobs and--

[Wait. Wait. Was that her hand? Keep walking, don't act like it's a big deal, Jean. He looked to the side, trying to wait and see if she moved it, not wanting to make it awkward. But when it kept brushing against his, he decided, to hell with it, and held her hand in his own callused one.]

It's hard.... to go from a world when you're always fighting to stay alive to a place that you don't have to.

[She was going to say something else.. probably. But her thoughts drifted away as her hand was no longer empty. Okay, really. What was going on with her lately. She should have moved her hand but... it felt nice. All of this felt nice and she couldn't explain why.

His hand was warm and maybe a little clammy but... it did nothing to stop her cheeks from growing a brighter red. She couldn't explain it, but until she talked to Armin later, she could just... go with it. Entwining her fingers between his, she remained silent since nothing came to mind. She should say something but... nothing came to mind. So instead of doing anything, she just left it be for the time being.]

It is...

[He trails off when Mikasa doesn't move her hand. He can tell even now, her hand is strong, cool, and it fits nicely against his and this is the closest physically he's been to Mikasa and he's both very thrilled, and at a loss of words. Blushing, he glances at her, and is relieved when he's not the only one who's a bit flustered. He gives her hand a quick, small squeeze, and keeps walking, more than content right now.]

[Now with the loss of words, she's suddenly more focused on the ground and how it was so interesting. Still, she was listening just in case he said anything more. When he looks over she might be trying to bury her face into her scarf as a last ditch attempt to hide that obvious blushing now. She squeezed his hand back gently in return as a way of saying she's still listening.

Approaching the location he had in mind, she hardly paid attention to where exactly they were heading. She hadn't really though about it since she'd been a little preoccupied while trying to deal with these butterflies she felt in her stomach.]
