[ On waking in the pod, Lucy was admittedly very.. disoriented. It wasn't her apartment back home OR in that other world she'd been in for a year. MOreover, Natsu wasn't with her like usual. Or Levy, or Erza. But maybe they'd gone to scout ahead? ]

[ No, she was sure Natsu would have waited. After looking over the items left with her and familiarizing herself with the new equipment (thankfully she was familiar enough with a thing like that so it didn't take long for her to understand), she slipped out of the pod, searching around the Bay first, before heading out to the city.

Boy did she hope her friends were here somewhere. One can find Lucy exploring/scouting around not far from the Bay, her videophone in hand. ]

[ It isn't long after she's digested all the information she was given before she fussed with the videophone enough to turn it on to broadcast a question. ]

Hi - I'm new here, and I'm looking for some friends of mine. I'm not sure if they're here, but they all have the symbol of our guild on their body - it looks like this. So... What's the story with those other two. The skeleton and the other ...?

Well I hope that you don't have to end up meeting with that guy. ...Well it'd actually be great if no one had to.

[She'll smile brightly, and it only looks a little forced.]

What's important is that everything is fine right now, right? I have some great who managed to pull me out of that jam.

[She just wishes she knew where one of them was right now.]

I'm not sure they're story but honestly they all seem to be big jerks with dreams of world domination. At least that's what they keep going on about.

I hope so too. [ She smiled back, still a little worried. ] Yeah? I'm glad for that then. I don't know if the rules on death apply here the way they did in that other place but I wouldn't want anyone to find out either.

[ She frowns slightly. ] Jerks with dreams of world domination.. I wish I could say it was the first time I've run into the type. It seems there's one on every world.

Uhmm... I don't know for sure if they're any different here either. I heard someone mention something about resurrections once, but I don't know if that's something we should count on.

[There's a bit of a sigh.]

Yeah, why the heck does this place have three!? One is way more than enough.

Yeah, let's... try to avoid having to figure out the concept of resurrections. [ Shiver grimaces slightly, sympathizing with the suckiness of not one, but THREE megalomaniacs. And possibly even more than that. ]

Tell me about it. But these City Guardians I heard about must be keeping them in check relatively well, or it'd be total anarchy here. [ A shake of her head. ]

Ah, why don't we talk about something less unpleasant?

Something less unpleasant? Well the City Guardians is a good place to start.

I've met two of them and they seem pretty great so far. Captain Hammer and Harry work pretty hard to keep things under control in the cities they're watching over.

The one in Attleton is kind of a total jerk but I like to think that his heart is in the right place.

...And honestly I have never met the one from Fayren.

[ She grimaces slightly. Maaaaaaaaybe they should stay out of Attleton - Natsu doesn't have a whole lot of patience for jerks in power. Or period. Odds are they're going to end up in Attleton for sure at some point. ]

I've heard about the City Guardians.. are they all wizards like Harry too?

As far as I know Harry's the only wizard out of them. Captain Hanmer's a superhero. ...And I'm not sure about the other two.

[Ruby is starting to feel like she should pay more attention to things around here.]

[ Erm. Maybe a little, Ruby. But it's okay! ]

I think I'll have to meet that Harry sometime, I'd love to ask him about his magic. And.. well, I'm sure I'll meet the other guardians eventually too. Even if my friends don't show up here, I'm too used to a life of moving around on adventures and everything -but- normalcy by now to just settle down easily.

He's a pretty nice guy, I think you'll both get along just fine!

Well if they don't show up right away you'll just have to make some new friends in the meantime.

[Because she's just going to keep on hoping they will show up here for Lucy's sake.]

So is that what you all did in your world, travel around and help people? Because that sounds pretty cool.

I like to think I get along pretty easily with a lot of people, so you're probably right. Once I get settled in I'll have to have a look around and talk to Harry.

[ Lucy was going to go right ahead and hope the same, and wait patiently until they arrived. ]

Hnn... back in that other place my friend Erza arrived with me, but.. Natsu didn't show up until about a month later, and the others were even later than that. Maybe it'll be the same way here. [ ... sooner, hopefully though. She grins at Ruby. ]

I hope I can count you towards one of my first friends here, then! [ And she nods good naturedly at the question. ]

Yep! It was pretty dangerous at time, but it was a lot of fun too. There was always something different happening every day. [ And not all of it good. ] Our guild is pretty big, so a lot of us ended up forming teams and going out on guild requests.

Well the same thing happened with me and my friends here. So I don't think it's a big stretch to think that the same could happen with you and your friends.

[She'll smile brightly at that.]

You bet you can! I'd be happy to be your friend!

[She seems pretty interested when Lucy describes the guild.]

Ooooh, neat! That kind of sounds like the school I go to back home. We get paired up into teams of four after the initiation.

[ Lucy grins happily at Ruby's agreement. ]

Great! I'm glad to hear it!

[ And then mention of the school gets her interest. ]

There are six in my team, not counting myself. What kind of a school did you attend?

Well it's kind of like a combat academy. We train to become huntresses and huntsmen there, so we can defend against the Creatures of Grimm.

If you ever have the chance you should go there, it's called Beacon Academy, it's a pretty cool place.

Creatures of Grimm...? [ Sounds like something Natsu would want to fight. ]

I'd love to - which city is it in?

To put it simply; big freaky monsters that inhabit our world. [He probably would.]

It's in Vale... Which isn't here at all, really. Well we opened up an archway to it but it's not the real city and I don't think it goes as far as the school.

[ With that description? .. yeah. He totally would. He'd want to go right to Vale and find some too! Her crazy, reckless partner! ]

That.. sounds familiar. We've had to fight monsters before, too -dragons more recently. And my ..friend was in a fight with a demon. [ She frowns slightly. ]

So there's no way to actually get to your school even through that archway? [ Awww. ]

[Honestly Ruby wouldn't mind going with him, beating up monsters is awfully fun after all.]

You guys have got to fight dragons!? That sounds pretty cool. [Demons, those sound a bit more scary.]

Well we could but we'd have to open up an archway to it specifically. ...I'd rather not do that though, we only opened up the first one because we had to.

[And even then she's still kind of upset that her sister opened it instead of her.]

[ You're both crazy. ... okay privately she had to admit it did feel good beating up monsters that were threatening people, knowing how far you've come in terms of strength. But she still kinda liked easy quests. ]

Ah... then.. don't worry about it. I wouldn't want anyone to pay a price like that just because I was curious.

[She'll smile faintly.]

Well if there's ever a time that we have to open one up to get there I'll be sure to let you know, but for now that's not going to happen.
