[text/action] Job questions and... a bear near the Bay?
Are the bounties worth doing? It seems that once someone claims one other things pop up to be taken care of.
Was wondering. Working at the grocery store really isn't giving me much.
[Lately there has been someone watching the Bay constantly in the afternoon and night. An almost constant if you were paying attention to the streets around the area. The culprit? A small bear, usually hanging around a corner in the shadows.
This has been going on for a few weeks now. The bear usually ignores people passing by. Though, it does raise the question. Why is the bear there instead of a more wild area? It's no bigger than a cub so maybe it's lost. Yet... it doesn't act lost at all. Still, maybe someone should do something about that.
Later in the night, the bear eventually just falls asleep watching the Bay as it often does.]

She sniffs the air before she catches the sight of him under the tree.] Huh?

[There's a moment of silence where the only movement from the cloak that covered Mewtwo was when it shifted as he cocked his head slightly. And then a voice - or thought rather - becomes audible. Mainly as a gentle probe to make sure she wasn't a Dark-type.]
...your quadruped stance would seem to indicate you are not of the Ursaring family, and you clearly do not have the markers that would place you closer to the Beartic line either.
I apologize for the the manner in which I ask but, what are you?
no subject
I'm just a bear.
no subject
Just a bear? You'll forgive my confusion. In my world, there are no such creatures, though there are Pokemon that have similar biological markers to what you present.
Though the development of fully functional vocal cords also are unlike that of any Pokemon...

They are...
[He's about to launch into a long winded explanation of what Pokemon are, their typings, and their place in the world, but reminds himself he's still one of a very few that remain, and the only "wild" one at that.]
...not human. That is the most concise answer I can give. Which is why I chose to approach you. I am a Pokemon, however I do not really feel comfortable around humans. The fact that you are clearly not human piqued my curiosity.
[He reaches up, bony ball-ended fingers sliding from beneath the sleeves of his cloak to pull down his hood, revealing his own inhuman appearance.]
You may call me Mewtwo.

I can understand not wanting to be around humans. [Most humans, anyway. With their rifles and stifling rules.] ...I'm Ginko.
[Maybe she shouldn't reveal her name. Though, it'd be rude to not do the same. Even among bears.]
no subject
I have a... history with humans. But that is not important at the moment.
It is a pleasure to meet you, Ginko. I have seen you here on multiple occasions, and I have to wonder, do you not have some place you can stay?

A camp is not the same as a permanent structure within which to take solace. Should you desire a refuge from the temporary nature of that camp, there is a cave in the mountains of Fayren that I use as a sanctuary. I do not desire the company of humans, but non-humans are more than welcome.
[In a brief flash, a detailed map of the spider-web caves running throughout the Maw, along with what path to take to reach said sanctuary, and what wall would appear solid but actually didn't exist would make itself known to Ginko. Hopefully she wouldn't mind the telepathic map.]
no subject
[Hold on a minute.] I'll keep it in mind.
no subject
I am a psychic. I communicate most naturally through telepathy, as I am doing now. My communication device can translate my thoughts into sound, but that is primarily for the benefit of the few humans I have associated with in the past.
It is how I am able to speak to you now.
no subject
Well...I prefer to live in my camp for now. That way I can visit the Bay often.
no subject
[He would argue that his powers were purely scientific. But that was not the point.]
Why do you continue to return here?

Kureha?
no subject
[She looks off to the Bay for a moment with what could only be called longing before turning back to him with a shake of her head.] I don't really like humans much but Kureha... She's different. Her classmates had her captured before I came here.
no subject
[Mewtwo's gaze follows Ginko's settling on the Bay as well.]
It would seem you and I have much in common. I have reasons to... despise humans. However, in all of humanity there is one I call friend. He lifted the veil of hatred from my eyes, even risking his life for me simply because I was in pain.
[He closes his eyes for a moment, considering what he might do should Ash show up.]
...However would I be wrong in thinking this... Kureha is more than just a friend? As much as I wish to see my friends again, I do not stay near here.
no subject
[Bears eat humans. Humans shoot bears. It's just the natural way of things.]
...but you're not wrong. I love her. That's why her classmates were after her. That's why her classmates were after her.
no subject
I cannot claim to know how that feels... and in truth, I find I am largely incapable of romantic attraction. However, I have seen how it affected those I would call my friends. It is a powerful thing, one that cannot be predicted or contained, nor should it be.
It is a shame that others do not see it in the same way, and I wish you luck in that regard. Still, if this Kureha is worthy of your affections, and returns them, I do not think she would wish for you to suffer on her account.
I am not saying you should cease your vigil all together... but perhaps you could stand to find a more comfortable living arrangement?
....wow. Just. Ignore that repeating sentence.
[She nods.] Kureha saved my life, many years ago. We haven't seen each other in a while but our close friendship is still there.
[Though, his words make her pause.] She probably wouldn't--but if I'm honest, I'd feel uncomfortable sleeping in a house. I'm used to sleeping outdoors.
What repeating sentence? I saw nothing.
While it may not be something I fully understand, I fully acknowledge its importance, both on a quality of life level, as well as from a broader survival one.
Human structures are... an acquired taste to many of my kind as well, one I have chosen to not indulge in. I have been considering making a new place in one of the cities specifically to feel more at home to non-humans like yourself, and you are always welcome to use the cave I have been living in as well.
Having a permanent base to call your own, one that is not as temporal as a simple campsite has a profound affect on the psyche. It may not be much, nor will it be like what you are used to in your world. But the offer remains. I am more than familiar with not having a home.
no subject
Maybe after a while. I wouldn't want to live somewhere that Kureha couldn't be with me.
no subject
Fair enough. I will not force the issue by any means, but the offer will remain.
