[Video] RIP welcoming hologram
[The video clicks on to show Pascal standing just outside the Bay. She waves at the camera.]
Hey! So, I saw the hologram already. Blah blah abduction, trapped forever, get a job, blah blah. Got a question, though!
[The camera swivels to the hologram stand-- or what was the hologram stand. It's lying in pieces now with all the circuit boards exposed. Pascal continues in the same cheery tone as if this was a totally normal and acceptable thing for her to do. She waves a screwdriver at various parts of the circuitry as she talks.]
I can see that the zippy bit goes to that lump-thing there and I'm guessing that click-click is what's making the projection, but what's the power source? I thought it might be that thing--[She points at an empty container, which anyone from Remnant might recognize it as a dust cartridge.] but when I popped it open to take a look, it was just like-- FWOOSH! And then, uh, that happened.
[She swivels the camera to show that a sizeable chunk of the Bay around her has frozen solid. This includes the water she's standing in. She doesn't seem too concerned about the fact that she's frozen to the floor though. When she turns the camera back to her face, she's beaming.]
It was kinda like the stuff you can do with eleth, but I'm absolutely sure it wasn't eleth. So if you know what it was, help a girl out! Thanks!
[And the video clicks off without so much as an introduction.]

[ Guess who is SO MAD? It's Weiss. Looks like she'll be replacing it instead of just updating the current one...
Judging by the background of the video, however, she's probably on her way... ]
no subject
Ooooh, I know you! You're the one in the video, the Schnee!
[Then, finally, comprehension sets in and the grin slides off her face. She puts her hands up defensively.]
Hey, no need to get all worked up! I promise I'll put it back together. Uh-- yknow, as soon as I can move my feet.
no subject
I'm not worked up, I'm irritated that someone decided just because they saw something they thought it was a good idea to try to break it. If you want to take it apart, just ask for a new one. I put that Dust in there to stop thieves.
no subject
Hold it right there, Weiss!
I'm not a thief and I didn't break anything! I took it apart and I'll put it back together and it'll work, you just wait!
[Never mind that she still doesn't know what the power source is.]

[Ok, she can't actually argue with that. She sighs.]
That doesn't usually happen.

video;
So... by breaking it caused the water to freeze... How exactly does that work?
no subject
[And that's exciting! Nothing like a good technological mystery to get the gears in her head turning.]
I mean there was some kind of crystals or powder inside, and I guess it must've reacted with the water because it didn't feel cold until it got wet. But if I knew how that worked then I wouldn't be asking you guys, yknow?
no subject
[he had assumed it was a program of some kind before, but now he knew that wasn't the case.]
no subject
So, whaddya say you help me track down whoever made this? I can try asking that Weiss lady later, but I think she might be kinda mad at me right now.
[Because that's what happens when you break stuff, Pascal...}

video;
[She wondered if they tried to make it simple and failed or something.]
no subject
Really? Man, I thought I was pretty clear this time, too...
no subject
[Not that she would have paid attention anyway.]

[She sounds matter-of-fact, apparently unaware that she might be kind of insulting.]

video;
[She felt like she had to ask at least.]
Re: video;
[She starts in on a stream-of-consciousness ramble with a grin that gets progressively more uneasy as she continues.]
If I'm going to be stuck here for a while, I've got to get acclimated to your tech, right? And I mean, maybe if I get really good at it I can figure out how we got here, and maybe if I figure that out I can figure out how to reverse it, and maybe if I reverse it I can get back home before Richard sucks all the life out of the world, so I'll actually have a home to get back to...
[She pauses. She had already gone through this train of thought in her head, but somehow saying it out loud gives it a bit more oomph.
Still, why should she worry about stuff she can't control? That's totally unlike her. The grin rebounds.]
Or something like that! It seemed like a good idea at the time, you know?
video;
[She couldn't even imagine that happening back at home.]
Re: video;
Yeah, it's a real bummer. It's ok though. My friends are working on it, and a couple of them are smart enough to make progress even without me.
Besides, I bet you've got reasons to get outta here too.
[If she can make this chick talk about herself then she won't have to worry about Richard! Yes! It's a flawless plan!]

[She pauses as if something just occurred to her, then tilts her head to one side and tries to wiggle her toes.]
Nope, never mind, that's cause I lost feeling in my feet. Huh.
[She starts rifling through her pockets for something she can use to chip the ice.]

no subject
It's fine, I can fix this!
[She sets her phone down on the ice before she sets to work, hitting the back of the screwdriver with her fist to chip away at the ice around her boots.]
Of course, it'd be even better if you've got a real chisel I could use. Or a kettle of hot water or a blowtorch or something.
