[Video] RIP welcoming hologram
[The video clicks on to show Pascal standing just outside the Bay. She waves at the camera.]
Hey! So, I saw the hologram already. Blah blah abduction, trapped forever, get a job, blah blah. Got a question, though!
[The camera swivels to the hologram stand-- or what was the hologram stand. It's lying in pieces now with all the circuit boards exposed. Pascal continues in the same cheery tone as if this was a totally normal and acceptable thing for her to do. She waves a screwdriver at various parts of the circuitry as she talks.]
I can see that the zippy bit goes to that lump-thing there and I'm guessing that click-click is what's making the projection, but what's the power source? I thought it might be that thing--[She points at an empty container, which anyone from Remnant might recognize it as a dust cartridge.] but when I popped it open to take a look, it was just like-- FWOOSH! And then, uh, that happened.
[She swivels the camera to show that a sizeable chunk of the Bay around her has frozen solid. This includes the water she's standing in. She doesn't seem too concerned about the fact that she's frozen to the floor though. When she turns the camera back to her face, she's beaming.]
It was kinda like the stuff you can do with eleth, but I'm absolutely sure it wasn't eleth. So if you know what it was, help a girl out! Thanks!
[And the video clicks off without so much as an introduction.]

[Pidonus quickly kneels down next to Pascal - her leather gloves and boots leave her convinced she won't get frozen to the ground - and she starts placing the hot pad along Pascal's shoes to free her. Fortunately, Pidonus was aware enough that she knew just taking the shoes off wouldn't have helped - most socks would've frozen to the ice too, to say nothing of bare feet. Ow.
As for the questions...]
Well. To be directly honest, I'm a succubus. Though I dunno if you'd recognize that term precisely.
[Pascal's wording fail about Sophie - not that Pidonus would know who Pascal was talking about - left another idea in Pidonus' head. Possibilities? Maybe.
As she works, though, her wings are pretty close to examining range. Definitely a bat-like structure, hard to say how tough the bones are without testing though. Leathery, too. Realistically, they shouldn't produce enough lift to lift a person's weight...]

Nope, never heard of that.
[Well... maybe just a little touch wouldn't hurt. She reaches out and strokes one wing gently.]
So, do those work?

It means, to an extent, I'm kind of built of magic. So they work even though they shouldn't, basically...

[It's kind of a sad thought. She doesn't have parents either-- not ones she remembers, anyway-- but Fourier was always there.
She wiggles her toes again and this time she can feel the ice crack.]
Ooh, I think I'm almost free!

[Another repressed memory. She focuses on warming Pascal's feet so she can move.]
Good to know.

It must've been pretty awful! I can think of a lot of terrible fates, but none that I can't even talk about. Maybe if you got turned to stone but you could still think and feel and then you got dropped into the gear shaft of one of those giant tower clocks and... uh...
[Her single scrap of social graces finally arrives and she looks momentarily panicked as her brain catches up with her mouth. There's no way to salvage that train of thought is there? ...Yeah, nope.]
Anyway, what I meant to say is it's fine. I don't have parents either, and I didn't even get cool wings out of the deal. Bummer.

[Pascal shrugs. Pidonus' reluctance just makes her more curious, but she doesn't want to go making her all mopey. She's helpful, friendly, and made of magic. That's not the kind of lady you want to chase off by being nosy.]
So, what's your name anyway? I'm Pascal.
