If someone doesn't mind answering, I have a question...

This is Marco and I come from a world where parties and things don't really...exist. I mean, they probably do, but with things going on, there's really no good time to have them.

Anyway, I'm not quite sure if I want to go to this event, but I feel that it would benefit everyone within the Schmee Company.

...I guess what I'm trying to ask is, does anyone know how to pick out a really good suit that matches? I haven't worn a tie before, I don't even know how to tie one.

And I also heard from a few colleges at the company that they were going to bring dates with them... Is...is that really necessary? I would prefer to go alone, but I don't want to bring a stranger with me either.

I would love to help you pick a nice suit! It isn't too hard, you just have to find colors that coordinate well and make sure they look nice on you, as well. It's hard to do on the phone, though. We'd have to meet in person! I don't think it matters if you take a date, by the way. I'm not going to, and I know I have some coworkers who won't be as well.

My last couple of outfits that I've worn to work were already put together... So I just took them off the rack.

That wouldn't be a problem! Meeting in person, I mean. As long as you have time.

I know. That's one reason why I wanted to go. And going without a date would be a lot better since I won't have to keep up with anyone or them with me.

I don't think people need to actually take dates with them. Some people do, but some people go alone. I know if I was going, I would.

Wouldn't know much about suits, being a woman with 'special needs' when it comes to fashion. Nice clothes tend not to be designed with scales in mind, yannow?
But I do know a touch about hobbobin with the nobs. Best to go with something shiny lookin' and just bein' confident. Makes the nobs think you're 'avante guardee' or somethin like that and instead of following the fashion, you'd be makin it. Or ya won't but really, just bein' confident'll do ya wonders in the party scene.

I'd offer advise on date gettin' but I doubt you'd want to go with 'get a date during a pub brawl' route I favor.

You don't have to have a date- this isn't a couples-only event. I'm well aware that not everyone wants to be attached to someone else's arm all night. You're simply welcome to if you have someone you want to go with.

I thought since it was a formal dance, you had to take a date.

Lucky for you, the modern world is much more accepting of singles than it used to be, Marco. Though if you do find someone you want to go with, I'd encourage you to ask once.
