So far from home
[Oh look, a new arrival. He's fiddling with the comm and examining the necklace with a vaguely bemused expression.]
Not that I don't appreciate the bling, but it's not exactly my style.
Anyone care to tell me what's going on, and how I get home?

Okay, so, he's missed something big. Especially by the way Sam's holding himself. Uh oh. He's going to have to get Sam to play catch up with him. And if it's big, possibly end up in the dream dock again, as much as he has a love-hate relationship with that place. After M, naturally - the dreamdock, that is.]
Okay, you me, bar and catch up is what's happening in a minute. First, and don't freak out, but I've been here over a year and a half, dude. I know, it's weird, you'll get cliff notes at the bar. Which is this way. [If you don't come, he is dragging you. Seriously.] It's, like, two years in... May. I think. April or may. It's been so goddamned long, I don't really... [He couldn't even say for sure it's April or May, but he's pretty sure. It's not like he was avidly looking at and taking note of the date on that first, extremely weird day.] Whatever. [Shrug.] It's been a long time since I last saw you.
no subject
Wait. What? A year and a half? How.. the archangels are dead, who in the hell could have thrown you into some kind of time loop without me knowing?
[Still, he lets himself get dragged along, trying to take in his surroundings as they go. Considering they'd tortured the angel occupying him before he kicked it free - yeah. He could use a drink.]
What the hell is this place, man?
no subject
It's not a time loop. At least, not for us. Time moves pretty much normally, at least here it does. Time back on home seems to stop, from what I can tell at least. I've been back to check on you twice, dude. [He's fully aware of how this all sounds by the way.
But wait! It gets weirder.] I think it's some kind of other world. We don't know who or what brought us here, but... people and things come in from places that don't even exist for us. Or completely fictional.
no subject
It's pure reflex that has Sam reaching for the beer set in front of him, shifting so he can listen to his brother lay out a seriously screwed up story. And given their lives - that's saying a lot.]
Wait. Hang on. Fictional? You're shitting me.
no subject
He's shaking his head, reaching for his own. He's brought Sam to Jack's - Jack's again not for the karaoke but those handy dandy rent-able rooms. Insta-privacy. Especially when he uses a fake name. Don't worry, Sam, you'll find out why later, stop looking at him like that.]
I wish I wa- actually, no. Not in this case I don't. [Now that he's where the only who he wants to see him can see him, he's visibly more relaxed and a little less frenetic in his energy, even if he's still deliriously excited.] I drink with Captain James. T. Kirk. Pretty regularly. [At least, before Christmas day..] J. J. Abrams reboot version, but still way awesome. [Look at his face. Not lying, not exaggerating that it's just the actor.]
no subject
Stop. Stare.
No, really. Because he's been a part of some seriously weird shit but his is kind of topping everything else.]
I, ah. You're drinking with some character from a sci-fi movie. [Dean's not lying, but it's taking a lot for Sam to wrap his brain around this one.]
no subject
He shrugs.] We're characters in a book. And a tv series in that other dimension thing. [This. This is how long he's been here, Sam. He's so used to this shit.]
I was also best friends with a Death God and we have a girl with wings - whose name is Angel but she's not one living - at the house. And Mom. [Note the use of 'we' and 'the'] Things are weird here dude, but that doesn't make them less awesome.
no subject
And okay. Touche. You've got him there, Dean. The rest of it just keeps getting weirder though.]</small 'We' have a girl? Who's we? .. Mom? She's.. she's here?
no subject
Yeah, she is. [and currently not happy with your brother. Again, more on that later] and 'we' is me and mom... and now you, I guess? [WANNA BE A SURROGATE UNCLE, SAMMY? tough. Y'are now.]
no subject
He can't do it. Can't pull away from Dean and can't tell him just how badly things had gone back home. At least not right now. Play through the pain, right? Sam nods slowly.] Yeah. You.. you have a house here?
no subject
Yeah. Got the car back with it, too. [there's a brief pause before he 'explains'] She missed it so much, Sam. [That should tell you it was one house in particular. And he hadn't even done it for him in the first place.]
no subject
So.. what's the deal here? Why are we here? Kinda got a job to wrap up back home.

The angels are still at war and we can’t get a line on Metatron. Cas stole some angel’s grace, but his wings are still broken thanks to the spell. A spell we can’t unravel.
no subject
'Gadreel'? But- I guess that makes the Cas thing make better sense, but-
[It strikes him as a little odd that even after everything, he kind of expects Cas's presence. He can't help it though, in the last few years, he's become almost as close and familiar as Sam (Almost) even after all the crap Cas has pulled, but... He just does. He's a moron like that, he guesses.
But still, that brings us to-] What the hell happened?
no subject
Cas said it was his fault that Lucifer got into Eden in the first place. He'd been in prison since the beginning.
He also.. he killed Kevin, Dean. He killed him and I remember the whole thing. [Just as sure as if he'd done it himself.]
no subject
He's just about to open his mouth and comment on Gadreel when... you tell him what happened to Kevin. It takes all of his words away for a long moment. He got Kevin killed? Why the hell wasn't he there? Why the hell didn't he do something more if he was?]
Kevin. [A pause, like he's not quite able to process the fact the first time.] ...Kevin? [Jesus Fucking Christ on a Christmas tree. and it's safe to say he's no longer like a bouncy, excitable puppy.] I-I'm sorry.
no subject
Sam looks down at the table, at his hands spread on the wood of the bar. He hadn't had much in the way of time to process anything, not since Dean had left. The only focus he had was the job - find Gadreel, kill him for what he did to Kevin and find some way to fix Heaven.
Somehow.
He drags a hand through his hair.] We're tracking him, me and Cas. You.. after I was able to get away from the angel, you left. Cas and I are trying to track him down.
no subject
Which reminds him-
Crap.]
Yeah, about that kind of thing. I kind of avoided it earlier. [Or, you know, completely forgot to mention in his fit of excitement.] I'm uhh.... kinda in the middle of a hunt here. Guy who's been terrorising the city - he blew up the house at christmas. [Yeah, you can see on his face how not-happy he is about that.] Goes by 'M'. He's got feelers out everywhere, acts anonymously and has been a real pain in the ass to get any kind of info on. And, uh, you might not want him to know we're brothers. [He's kind of sheepish about that. Yep, Dean got himself in major trouble here. IT TOOK HIM A YEAR, THOUGH. GO HIM, RIGHT, SAM? RIGHT?!] You can be in on this if you want, but... it's gonna be safer for you if you don't.... at least until you're settled anyway. I'm not gonna let him hurt you, but... [it trails, and there's a long pause. Trust him, it's killing him to admit the following part. The fact he's doing so should show you that there's a long, complicated and terrible history here.] if he wants you, I'm not one hundred percent sure I could stop him in the first place.
[Jenn and the exploding mall is very much on his mind as he says it. As he slowly admits it, he just sags. Very terrible, and very long. But he needs Sam to know excatly how it is with this guy. It's the one time he knows for sure that half-truths are not going to help in any way, shape, or form. No chances where M is concerned.]
no subject
And okay. Guess they're not taking about this? Not for long, Dean. Sam can't just let it simmer. It'll wind up poisoning them both.]
I'm settled. Whatever happened, I'm in. But before we start a job? We've got to talk about something.
[See this face? Not getting out of it, Dean. No way.]
no subject
I've got a pretty strong feeling I know exactly what you want to talk about, so.... let me finish. Then we'll talk about it. [Or, you know, hopefully one or two of them will distract you away from this...]
no subject
no subject
Just you wait, Sam. juuuust you wait.]you should probably talk to angel as well, seeing as how she lives in the house. [As much as he's liking you, Sam.... he doesn't think he'd have the heart to throw her out. Scratch that, he definitely doesn't have the heart.] Don't freak out over the wings, she's human. Or, human enough. But... that's her story to tell, if she wants to.
Then there's Harry - and your little geek heart is going to love that he's a wizard. But yeah, it's not Potter. I owe the guy a beer or two, and he's the guardian of Everglade, which is the subcity we're stuck in. Very damned handy in a fight.
[He pauses for a moment, chewing over this one.] Orihime is someone you definitely want to meet. You're going to love her. [Okay, enthusiasm there. A bit more than he was going for. tone it down, self.] She's a bit of a dork sometimes, but she's nice. Someone you can count on when you need it [...This is coming from Dean, Sam. This girl is reliable] and half the time, you don't even have to ask. And she's one hell of a healer - You wouldn't believe it now, but yesterday, I was nearly mauled to death. Bitten and scratched to hell all over.... but not a damned mark left. I mean, she'd already told me she could do it, but... I didn't realise it was so good. [Oh, look, Sam, he may have just rambled a little bit.]
....Actually, with your tendency to get your sasquatch ass into trouble, you should meet her first.
no subject
.. Dean doesn't ramble like that about people. Especially not in such glowing terms.
Oh he has got to meet her first and not because of what she can do in terms of healing.
He kind of wants/needs to see in person what she's doing to his brother to make that dopey ass smile show up.]
Ah, yeah. Sure. We can start with her if you want.
no subject
...What?
[And just as he's at the point he would start fidgeting, you talk. And... agree with no issues. Really? He expected a little foot draggage. That worked... a little too effectively. Just, what?]
O...kay. [Mind you, if it puts off that talk...] I could see if she's free now?
