[When Gohan initially woke up, he was worried. He didn't know where he was, and didn't know what to expect. He immediately pushed his power level way down so as to avoid attracting unwanted attention while he figured things out.

Though if something had managed to bring him to an unfamiliar location without him realizing it until after it had happened, then it had to be more powerful than even he, a martial artist who had discovered a level even beyond that of Super Saiyan, was. As difficult as that was to believe.

When Gohan walks out of the bay, he's greeted by the hologram. After listening to what it says, he leaves the area, trying to find this welcoming agency. He's still not sure what to think, so rather than risk flying, he decides to walk. Best to look casual, even if you're wearing formal clothing.

He eventually arrives, and immediately begins trying to figure out what to do. If you happen to be there that day, you'll find a preteen boy walking around with a somewhat lost expression on his face and wearing a suit and tie, occasionally asking people for help.]

[Later, after Gohan gets some info, he decides to try his luck asking people about what to do here. He turns on the video feed.]

Um, excuse me! Can anybody hear this? My name's Gohan, and I just got here, and I don't have a place to stay. Can anyone help me with that? I mean, I'm still a kid, so I can't live on my own or get a job, so I don't know what to do.

[Krillin was on the clock in Nova City when Gohan arrived so the video was the first inkling he had that Gohan was around. It was a slow day, so patrolling was the order of the day and even then, flying high over the city he could tell it was fairly normal, so Gohan was a welcome diversion.]

Gohan! When did you get here? If you need a place to stay, I'm sure you could stay with 18 and myself until you found a place of your own or something. I mean, if your dad could manage on his own when Bulma found him, I know you'd be fine. And I might even be able to get you a job if you want. But first thing's first, where are you? I'll come by on my break.

[Gohan's face immediately lightens up.]

Krillin! You're here, too!

[If a friend from home is here, then maybe it won't be so bad after all.]

[But before he responds to what Krillin says, there's a more pressing matter in Gohan's mind.]

But wait a minute. Why are you wearing a wig?

[Just have a deadpan stare for a moment before sighing. He really is Goku's son, huh?]

It's not a wig. I grew my hair out. If there's one thing the fight with Cell taught me, it's that I'm way behind you and your dad and... there's not much I can do to bridge it, and my lack of hair wasn't giving me any advantages.

[Also, he might've once or twice tried to go super-human to no avail.]

...you do remember the fight with Cell, right?

[More confusion. Why wouldn't he remember?]

Of course. It happened less than a week ago.

Hey, wait a second! This place isn't like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, is it?

[There's no way Krillin could have grown a full head of hair in a single afternoon, after all.

Yes, he's still fixated on that.]

It's... sort of like that, but different.

[He runs his hand through his hair for a second, in thought, trying to think of how to best explain it.]

If you think of time like a stream, and this place like a fisherman. We were fished out in two different spots along that stream. I've been here a couple months now, and the battle with Cell was over a year ago with me.

...Huh! I hadn't thought of that, but I guess that does make sense.

[He's heard time likened to a river before, so he picks up what Krillin is saying quickly.]

You'd have to be a really powerful magician to do something like that, though, wouldn't you? Not even the Namekians could have done it.

[Krillin grins a bit. Gohan was not only a lot smarter than his dad, but only in hindsight did he realize he had fallen back on using food as an analogy like he would have with Goku.]

I have no idea who, or what, brought us here or why. Just... kind of been trying to figure out a way home when I'm not working.

[Color Gohan impressed. While he's good at math, he has yet to even touch accounting.]

Aye, that'd be true. It's....Teannie Teas on Thistle and 9th. Run by Luke. Nice kid, bit skittish, but still, running a business on yer own's impressive, much less at his age.

Yeah, no kidding. I don't know the first thing about running a business. Mom hasn't given me any lessons on accounting or economics or stuff like that. The math would be easy, but everything else...I'd be better off trying to be a scholar.

[Upon the screen comes a young blonde girl, appearing to be right around the same age as Gohan.]

"Excuse me, hello? There is a home for children to which I, myself, am settling into. If luck is not in your favor, there is always this home for children."

[Wow. He's surprised; she seems even more polite than he was raised to be.]

What kind of home? You don't mean like an orphanage, do you?

[Anastasia blushed slightly out of the realization that she didn't word herself properly. She didn't want Gohan to think the worst. In her frizzled state, she slipped out of her formal speech and began over-thinking what needs to be said.]

"Oh! Oh, no. I'm sorry, I didn't mean... Um... The home for children was set up for kids like you and I who were taken from our home worlds... That is, if that is your situation. I'm sorry if I've mistaken you for an off-worlder. I just wanted to try helping, you know?"

Well, um.

[That was an interesting response. Gohan doesn't seem at all bothered, though.]

I came from another place, yeah. But, I mean. Is it set up like an orphanage? It's a nice place to live?

[Looks like she didn't royally screw up after all. That was a relief. After a moment to collect her thoughts, she responded.]

"I... Suppose so? I am not too familiar with how orphanages really work. But this home does provide for us. A place to sleep, some local currency so we can have some independence. I would say it is a pleasant place to stay. If a orphanage does all that, then I suppose the K&H Home for Children is a orphanage."

Oh, huh. That sounds better than I thought it would. But I might have something lined up. A friend of mine from home is here.

"Well, that is wonderful to hear. I think you should stay close to your friend, then."

[Inside, though, she couldn't help but feel a little envious. She wants her friends from her world too.]

"I should not keep you any longer. I need to think about how to go about finding my friends too. It was nice talking with you."

[ Well Gohan, you're in luck here, because you're about to run into a girl whose's running around and doing some martial arts practice, punching at some invisible enemy before she stops and notices the kid in the suit.

... Actually, that doesn't exactly help you much at all, does it? But still, it gets Vivio's attention, and she looks over at him with a little bit of confusion on her face. ]

... Umm... did you just wake up here?

[It's an interesting enough sight to get Gohan's attention. He's never before seen another child his age into martial arts, so he stops and watches until she addresses him.]

Um, yeah. I've been here less than an hour. Can you help me?

Umm... I can try? I'm not sure how much help I'm going to really be though. I've only been here for a couple of days myself...

[ One of which was spent hiding in the bay after seeing an attempted monster attack... but maybe mentioning that right away wasn't really all that smart. ]

Better a couple days than no days, though! You've still got a head start on me.

[Someone sure is optimistic.]

[ Nevermind that she spent most of her first day here hiding. That was just... yeah. Not much help. ]
