Fairy Tail Fun~

WHAT: Unwinding at the Beach

Three days since the spirits were banished back to wherever they came from; Lucy slept throughout those days, with no sign of waking. At least until today. Natsu had been at her side the entire time, it seems. After he helped her to breakfast, they went to check in on the two kids that their past ‘selves’ all but adopted, and she decided, rather than stay goofing off at home, to that they could go to the beach, and have a nice lunch cookout.

Spur of the moment maybe, but what was the harm in that? Before heading out though, she left a note on Wendy, Juvia and Levy’s doors to let them know she was awake and going to the beach. If they wanted, they should come join them!

After preparing for the trip out to the beach, Lucy and her possee sauntered on out to the beach, where she was determined to have some fun and possibly work on her tan. She’d been cooped up indoors for so long, after all! The two kids that accompanied her and Natsu were almost Wendy’s age, if a little bit younger, and with THEM was a happy, year old retriever mix who was all too happy to jump in the water and then jump out and soak everyone all over again. Joy!

Oh man, any attack from Natsu would be nothing short of powerful! Wendy quickly prepared to swim away...only to have her foot caught on something. As the young Dragon Slayer tried to break free, a shadow loomed over her. She looked up just as the wave crashed down on her. Though it did free her from whatever ensnared her foot, it also dunked her underwater.

After a moment, Wendy resurfaced, coughing up water as she reorientated herself. There was no way anyone would win against Natsu in this "war", but she could at least try!

The young Dragon Slayer positioned herself to attack her not!brother. Once she was ready, she launched a wave at him. But not just any wave—one powered by her Dragon Slayer magic. Since it was Natsu, she didn't have to hold back so much~

Making waves indeed. Natsu let out a loud warcry of delight as he threw several waves of water in quick succession at the opposing side before Wendy caught him off guard with her own large wave that managed to submerge Natsu completely once it crashed on top of him.

Or maybe it could be that he had gone under on purpose. One thing was certain. Watch your legs everyone!

"WAURTGHG!" Nev got a faceful of water, spluttering, coughing, and laughing as he was swept back by the waves. Okay THAT, was cool.

Justyne, when she surfaced, glanced around anxiously. "Where's Natsu...?" She could see Wendy and Nev and Lucy but...

"He's a shark! A dragonshark!" Nev crowed excitedly.

Lucy squeaked, quickly swimming over to a rock, "Wendy! Up on the rock! Justyne, Nev, there's another one on your left..!" She'll help Wendy up onto the rock first though! Justyne was already pretty good at scaling them, and she reached down to pull her brother up with her.

Jeez, whatever happened to collecting seashells?

A "dragonshark", eh? Wendy tried imagining a red, scaly shark with a dragon snout and wings. She then imagined the opposite: A gray dragon with a shark head and fins. ...Honestly, she wouldn't be surprised if similar creatures actually existed back home. She then began imagining Natsu as a shark, with fins and a tail. He ended up looking like some bizarre merman—a funny image, really.

Wendy snapped back to reality when Lucy began to help her onto a nearby rock. Once she was on top, the young girl focused her gaze toward the water, looking for any sign of movement. With her keen vision, she should be able to pick up Natsu's location before he struck.

Out of the corner of their eye they might see a set of salmon spikes peeking out of the waters as the owner slowly circled around the rock tempted to make his move then to try and pull some of the group into his fiendish clutches.

Justyne let out a squeal of surprise, the first to catch sight of the 'shark'. "Over there!" POINT! Lucy shifted in her position between the two girls, glancing over her shoulder to make sure Nev was all right - and then turned back to look towards the water.

"Where, whe-aah!" Losing her balance, Lucy shrieked, flailing her arms and quickly bracing herself against the rock. SAVED. Except she was kiiiind of leaning precariously forward, with her side-tail dangling over the water like a fishing lure. "Oh god... PUll me up! Pullmeuppullmeuppullmeup!"

Before the shark takes the lure!

Or don't and watch her flail more. It's great entertainment.

"Lucy-san!" Wendy knew nothing bad would happen to her, but since Natsu was playing the role of "shark", she decided to pretend that the Celestial Spirit wizard was in danger. The young girl slowly bent down (she didn't want to trip) and extended her arm toward Lucy. "Grab on!" Of course, given Wendy's size, it was possible that she would be dragged down with Lucy should she manage to take her hand.

A fishing Lure indeed. And with such lovely bait to boot. WHat self respecting shark would say no to that!? Natsu swam up closer while keeping completely under water before he broke through the water surface with arms spread wide and grabbed Lucy firmly before pulling her down with him!

She knew nothing bad would happen also, but she had to ham it up for the kids!~ "Wendy!" She reached out to grab the other girl's hand, letting out a startled screech (that was way too amused) when the shark attacked! Onoes!

Justyne shrieked, jumping forward to grab onto Wendy's arm. Lucy let out an overdramatic, "Nooooooo~!" as the dragonshark clutched his prey and dragged her into the cold water. If Wendy doesn't let go, she might get dragged in too - and might drag Justyne in with her~! Nev is torn, on the other hand - he wanted ot help his sister and the girls but.. but it's Natsu. He couldn't betray the brodad!

Wendy had two options: She could continue holding on and fall in, or she could let go. With Justyne clinging onto her, the latter option was preferable—she didn't want to jeopardize her safety! (She knew Natsu wouldn't do anything to harm her, but it was possible the young girl could hit the rock's side on her way down, or perhaps accidentally take in a lot of water.) Lucy was definitely going to be safe regardless, but she didn't want to simply let go. That'd be too cruel.

Instead, Wendy pretended that she was losing her grip, her fingers becoming less tense as they held onto Lucy. Within a few moments, her hand completely detached from Lucy's.

"Lucy-saaaaan!" Her expression wasn't exactly convincing—she didn't look as frightened as someone who accidentally let go of someone would—but it was just an act, so it didn't have to be perfect, right?

Smart choice. The shark was after all only after the blonde princess. Natsu pulled Lucy right under and started cheekily pinching at her sides not stopping her from clawing her way back to the surface when she needed to but he never let her stay surfaced for long.

Wendy no! Halp! Lucy mock shrieked as Wendy 'lost her grip' on her, condemning her to a fate worse than death! Merciless tickling! Noooooo! Watch those hands, Natsu! Lucy squirmed when the shark dragged her underwater, clawing her way to the surface to gasp for breath, laughing hysterically, "No stop -!!" Whoops, dragged under again - "WAuahaha! C-cut it out!"

Don't all jump up and come to her rescue at once now! Justyne giggled, watching the fiasco, glancing over to her brother, "Nev, come over here! The dragonshark's fighting with a mermaid!" She giggled. Her brother quickly scrambled down from his rock to join Wendy and Justyne, who reached down to help pull her brother up so he could look too. She glanced at Wendy, "Who do you think will win?"

"Um..." Wendy wasn't sure how to answer that question. On one hand, she was slightly partial toward Natsu since they were closer. However, he was also playing the role of "antagonist". If this were a fairytale, the protagonist would always win! ...Still, she didn't expect Natsu to go easy on Lucy—he hardly ever went easy on someone—but it still wouldn't hurt to cheer for her, right?

"Natsu-san is strong, but I think Lucy-san can defeat him!" She began shouting words of encouragement to Lucy. You can do it!!!

Cut it out? Cut it out? Was the mermaid giving orders to the shark. Well then he'll just tickle a little harder. How do you like them apples? Also the gallery is still watching not that Natsu actually minds. He'll get them next if they try to save the poor giggling mermaid.

Darn right the mermaid was giving the dragonshark orders! Or trying anyway, he wasn't doing a very good of listening! But she could hear Wendy cheering her on, which made her giggle that much more. Now she had to mount a counterattack.... at least she would if she could get free long enough, and Natsu was making that very difficult!~ Especially when he tickles her even harder, rendering her practically helpless to counter him in that position of laughter.

Justyne looked somewhat doubtful (and for good reason) as she peered down at the 'battle'. "I don't know... I think the shark's going to eat the mermaid."

Nev peered over his sister's shoulder, watching the group for a minute, and then grinned, "Mermaids are sharkfood anyway." He observed, "Just like sisters!" He promptly glommed onto Justyne, trying to drag her off of the rock. Of course, his sister being older was a little bit stronger than her brother, but she was a good sister. She cooperated... and grabbed onto Wendy's ankle. "EEK! Help!" She refuses to go down alone Wendy! You're coming with her!

One moment, Wendy was peering over, watching as Lucy was being "attacked". The next, she had Justyne holding onto her. Though she tried to help the girl up, the young Dragon Slayer found herself being pulled toward the water.

"Kyaaaa!" She plunged into the water next to Justyne and remained underwater for a few seconds. When she resurfaced, those near her could see the fear on her face right before she calmed down. That was a little scary!

Natsu looked up sharply at the shrieking from on top the rock only to see Nev pull down the other two 'mermaids'. Oh he's never been more proud of the lad than now. In fact while he was basking in that proud sense of almost fatherly glee, he was leaving himself completely open to Lucy's counter attack. If she could even mount one at this point.

Nev laughed loudly as he succeeded in toppling Two girls into the water, dunking his sister until she popped up with a squeal, splashing him, "Nev!" Her brother squawked, paddling away as Justyne swept water at him. Justyne giggled, turning to Wendy, "Are you okay? Sorry I grabbed you like that." She offered a hand, only to squeal again as her brother sneaked up behind her to try and knock her into the water. Apparently that shark didn't know when to quit! Much like another shark around here.

Lucy, on the other hand, was giggling so much from the attack she almost didn't have the strength to counterattack! But Natsu foolishly dropped his guard. The celestial mermaid giggled, this time taking her chance to dunk him in the water, tickling his sides, dunking him again when he surface and only giving him enough time to catch his breath before assaulting him. Revengeance is herrrrrs!

"I-I'm fine!" No one got hurt, so it's all good! Wendy began to reach out to Justyne just as Nev snuck up. She pulled her arm back and swam a little backwards such that she could launch an attack on Nev without hitting Justyne. When she was in position, she brought her hands to the water and—this time using a tiny bit of her magic—launched a small wave at the boy.

To think the mermaid would be someone with so little honor! To think the dragon-shark would fall for such petty trickery! Well he wasn't going to go down alone as his hands found purchase on Lucy's sides once again and renewed his attack even from underwater.

Just as Nev was pouncing at his sister, he squawked in surprise when a small wave smacked into him - Justyne started laughing at the surprised look on her brother's face, "Serves you right! You promised you wouldn't splash. It's...what's it.. karma or something." She thinks. Regina used the word plenty of times. She giggled, turning to Wendy, "I think that's enough for me. I want to see if I can find some seashells." THough she was going to do so along the shore of the beach.

On the other hand there was a LOT of giggling and splashing going on over by Lucy and Natsu, jeez. They were worse than the kids themselves were! The renewed attack from the dragonshark had the mermaid giggling all over again, until she took a chance in wrapping her arms around him in a hug. He can't tickle her if she was holding onto him right? "Aahaaah! S.. Stop! S..STop! Ceasefire!!" Lucy squealed, giggling. Mercy?

Wendy nodded; she was done playing in the water for now. Time to go seashell hunting! "I hope we find lots of pretty ones!" she told Justyne as she made her way to the shore. That way, she'd be able to give her friends nice presents! ...Though, maybe she could try turning them into jewelry instead? It'd be a lot nicer, but she wasn't sure how to go about doing that.

...Well, she can always figure out what to do later! With that decided, Wendy began walking along the coastline, looking down for any seashells that would make good presents.

He had taught Nev so well it seemed. Sadly he never had a chance against that surprise attack from Wendy. No worries dragon-shark junior. You fought well. Leave it to not!papa Dragon-shark.

That being said, when the kids went back to the original goal of their swim his fervor in attacking Lucy died down a little though the bright grin on his face was still in full force.

"So you give up?" He asked leaning in close with a victorious smirk. Even though he was trapped in Lucy's arms. Yup he totally still felt like the winner.

Nev puts all his trust in you not!papa! Still with Wendy and Justyne both off to look for shells, Nev decided to climb out of the water himself, though his intentions were to play with the dog. And by play, this apparently meant 'try to bury in the sand'. It wasn't working out well for him; Herb would hold still only so long before getting up, shaking sand off and running away only to come barrelling back at him.

Justyne was having quite a bit of luck with finding seashells though! She even pointed out a bunch for Wendy, "When we come here with Regina, there usually aren't so many because people already took 'em," she told the other girl. "But we're first this time..!"

Lucy and Natsu on the hand, being CRUELLY ABANDONED BY THE KIDS (not), were practically in their own world. Or at least, Lucy was, with a percentage of her attention listening out for the kids, and the rest just happy to goof off with her partner. Still caught up in the euphoria of the 'attack and counterattack' she giggled, her arms tightening into a hug as she leaned forward to rest her forehead against his. What a dopey partner she had. (Pot Kettle Black!)

"Hahahaha, why should I? I'm not about to let you go, now that I've got you in my arms!" She countered with a giggle.

Give her a few seconds to process that statement.

........... *DING*

Oh god. That... that came out wrong. She meant that he's at -her- mercy. Her partner who was currently trapped in her arms. And he was really close. GACK. Quick Lucy, ABORT, ABORT, ABORT!

Wendy marveled at all the seashells Justyne had found. Of course, that isn't to say the young girl had found a fair few, too!

"It's nice being here before everyone else." She looked down at her seashells, smiling as she looked some of them over. "I can see why people would take them. They're really pretty!" A smile. "I'm hoping to make jewelry using them." Come to think of it, maybe she should make a necklace or something for Tabby—the cat she adopted—too. She was her friend, after all!

Speaking of friends, Wendy glanced over at Lucy and Natsu as they were playing in the water, then over at Nev and the dog. "It's nice seeing everyone having fun!" she said. That was the point of this trip, after all, so she's glad that's the case!
