Birthday Party! [Open]

Who: GSNK cast + any of Mayu's friends + any of Mikoshiba's friends
When: August 8th, but it's a sleepover so overnight.
What: Mayu's Birthday Party! With a bonus of Pokemon.
Where: Manga House in Genessia

Visitors will be greeted by either Mikoshiba, or one of the other housemates. The decor is a bit different from other parties: there are pillows literally everywhere, in case Mayu wants to fall asleep wherever during the party. The recent arrival of Pokemon make it even more chaotic, though it depends on the Pokemon's temperament. Some Pokemon are good for cuddling, which is another reason why they're out. Everyone has been asked to bring their own sleeping bag if they choose to spend the night, but if they don't have one they'll figure something out (or just shove them at someone else to share a sleeping bag with).

Greeting people and stuff

Mikoshiba is doing his best to greet visitors as they arrive, even though it goes against his nature to talk to people he isn't familiar with.

"Welcome! Thanks for coming. There's snacks, and some video games you can choose from if you want."

He rented more mainstream games just for this event. No one has to see the dating sim collection. And the bunny ears? He hid them. There still might be the chance that Nozaki will find them. Especially when Mikoshiba occasionally gets to flustered and hides, asking one of the others to take over.

[ that's okay, Nozaki is going to be coming in with a large gift wrapped item that looks almost like it's the size of a real person. but he looks like he's wearing a backpack. he's coming in and turning to set it down and OH MY GOD

he's got his Treecko on his back in a BABY CARRIER. it seems like it's chilling out though, looking around at everything. the pokemon's got a pink and white spotted bandanna around it's neck. that thing is probably being spoiled rotten... ]

[Cries because Nozaki didn't need the bunny ears to look weird. Mikoshiba blinks and seriously worries about Mayu's health because what could be underneath all that wrapping paper? Was it a practice dummy for judo???]

Oh... Right!

[He rushes over, nearly tripping over his Marill that decides right then and there to tackle his leg. He's distracted by the Pokemon now, trying to get her to do something else.]

Umi-mi! Stop that, I have to help Nozaki!

Well this is a surprise, Satsuki was actually expecting the older of the Nozaki brothers to be greeting.

The young lady tried to arrive in something a little less professional, but as things go now, she'll probably die in a uniform. So there she is in her usual white uniform, coat over her shoulders and cap upon her head, with a box covered in white wrapping paper and black ribbon under her arm.

".. Video games?" Ryuko likes those, right? Perhaps this is an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

Mikoshiba is too busy trying to figure out whether he said something embarrassing when greeting Satsuki. Mayu's friends are very impressive. An embarrassed blush covers his face even though he didn't do or say anything weird.

Oh. She had said something, hadn't she? He nods slowly, looking hesitant, as if she had just asked him to solve a particularly long equation. "There are a few racing games, I think, and some platformers...and a couple of fighting games too!" The fighting games consisting mostly of girl characters in impractical and revealing outfits. He thought Mayu might like that. Might like it.

[ Being Mayu's friend and all, Weiss decided she had to at least show up. It was.. weird. She'd never been to an actual birthday party before that wasn't a huge spectacle business-like gathering with champagne and a need to work on PR instead of just enjoying yourself. So when Mikoshiba greeted her and said snacks and video games, she quirked an eyebrow. ]

Video games? [ She didn't have experience with board games, what makes anyone thing Weiss knows how to play one of those. ]

[This is the closest he's ever been to talking to a celebrity. He's seen Weiss on video, but not in person, but he's always admired her fashion sense.]

[He tries to look like he's in thought, and not surprised that she doesn't know much about video games.] It's a sophisticated hobby that challenges both your mental abilities and your physical ones, and your ability to react and think outside the box all while making full use of your five senses.

Besides smell and taste and touch. [He's not going to make it sound bad if she's unfamiliar. Did he just make it sound bad? Maybe he went overboard.]

Luke gets to the party early enough that he still catches Mikoshiba greeting people, instead of someone else. It's their first interaction in person, and the young apprentice is aware of one thing: Mikoshiba is huge. Or maybe, he's just quite small. It doesn't matter.

"Oh. Hi, Mr. Mikoshiba."

His Mudkip is sitting on his hat because of course Luke wouldn't force it to stay in a poke-ball. And he's carrying two small bags. One has overnight things in it, including a sleeping bag. The other has his gift for Mayu (a Judo movie he thought Mayu might like and some tea blends Luke made specifically for him) as well as a box of candles for cake.

"I brought candles. Because--well, we talked about the candles. For the cake--because you have to make a wish. Right?"

"Luke-san, thanks for coming."

Wow Luke is shorter than Sakura and that's really short to Mikoshiba. He feels kind of dumb for getting so worried earlier... But it also makes him wonder about Mayu's other students. He's proud of him. He must be good at what he does, if he can instruct people who are vastly different from him in terms of strength. He offers to take his bags, his eyes widening a fraction in surprise when Luke mentions the candles.

"You...didn't have to. But we didn't have any on hand, so thank you. He'll definitely have to make a wish. He can't be too lazy about it since he doesn't even have to say anything." Mikoshiba thinks it's kind of important, but since Luke feels so strongly about it, and he even brought candles, he's determined to make sure Mayu wishes something.

Loki's arriving with a box full of candy that he had promised to bring with him. There's a small Tepig following him around, waiting in case any candy would fall so he could eat them (he's been successful zero times so far).

"Your order is ready, just like promised. I hope I'm not too late with it~"

"Ah...thank you again, Loki-san! It means a lot to all of us." Mikoshiba smiles brilliantly, sincere but also hoping to kind of get on his nerves.

He offers to take the box to take to the table with everything else.

"Mayu's around, but he might be napping."

Mingling

Kashima was kind enough to provide cupcakes, and there's candy of various flavors thanks to a generous donation by Loki Laevatein. There are different drinks and snacks to go along with everything else, though certain Pokemon might try to get into stuff. A gaming system and video games have been set up for the time being too.

Cake + Gifts

Somehow, Mikoshiba will attempt to get Mayu to go to the cake. Nozaki baked it, so maybe that will help? Mikoshiba decided to go with Luke's suggestion to use baby candles, seeing as they take less effort to blow out. After cake, there's gifts for Mayu! Feel free to use this a starter if you want.

[ Yui had gotten a general idea of what sort of person Mayu was, from both Mayu himself and Mikoshiba. Which is why she had brought over a gift bag that contained a NapAnywhere pillow. She'd had to think about it- it was between that and something judo-related, but in the end she'd decided something like that would mean that he could take a rest at work if he needed to.

As for cake? Yui will be waiting patiently until everyone else has a piece to get hers unless someone hands her a slice, and telling her Turtwig to do the same. He seems determined to get to the cake...

[Mikoshiba's gift for Mayu comes in a pair. One is oddly shaped, but once it's opened it becomes clear why. A red rose tied in front of it, there is a small gardenia plant for Mayu's room, to help relieve some of the anxiety he's had when he sleeps. The second gift is a sleeping kit he made for him. It includes a lavender infused sleeping mask, jasmine and valerian pillow spray, and a pillowcase.

He stares at his cake, hoping Mayu likes his present and is enjoying everything. If he has to feed Mayu, depending on how lazy he feels, so be it.]

[ Yes, Mikoto has to feed Mayu. Isn't that what boyfriends are for? He has to bring Mayu to the cake to blow out the candles.]

[ there's a beautiful bodypillow with Mamikoshiba on it for him and there's also a couple of flowers wrapped up in the packaging that his Treecko found. she wanted to give them to her uncle Mayu!!

there's also a new pack of drawing pens and multipurpose drawing paper, in case his brother wants to experiment with painting or whatever. he's so happy that he's following in his footsteps cry ]

WHERE THE HELL DID YOU EVEN GET THAT?!

[If Mamikoshiba wasn't embarrassed before, he is now. He's briefly motionless, looking as if he's unsure of whether to grab Nozaki by the collar and shake him, or go hide. Finally he settles on both, attempting to shake Nozaki a few times before his mortification takes over and he's rendered to a sobbing bright red blob hiding behind the curtain.]

[Luke's gift is meticulously wrapped. He got Mayu a Judo movie, the main character of which reminded him of the Judo instructor himself. Luke had then spent quite some time trying to decide what else might be a nice gift, and he ultimately decided on making Mayu some tea--tea blends he'd arranged himself. Mostly they were takes on things that already existed, like a sleep-inducing herbal tea or a soothing chamomile blend. But he'd also puttered around with a blend that was supposed to help sore muscles, and another that eased anxiety. Each small tin was labelled in his own neat print with instructions. His card suggested that Luke thought, since Mayu had mentioned he'd been so stressed and tired lately since the event with the spirits, that such specific teas might be good for him.

As for the cake...well, he'll take a slice when it's offered. And cheer when those candles are blown out, because he really wanted to see Mayu make a wish!]

Movies + Sleepover Time

Thanks to Yui's input, there will be several judo movies playing once things have kind of but not really calmed down, and all of the sleeping bags are set up. None of the titles are very familiar, and some are cheesier than others, but they're mainly for the judo instructor.

[ If it's sleepover time, Weiss is going to be occupying the bathroom probably longer than anyone has a right to. Sorry everyone, but she has a process and it involves brushing allll of that long hair and lotions and all sorts of things. Just about the only thing the process doesn't include is having actually been involved in a sleepover that wasn't a bunch of students-in-waiting who hadn't been assigned dorms yet. ]

[ ...isn't it weird that Nozaki is still up while everyone else is trying to get comfortable? HE'S CLEANING AND HE'S MAKING SURE EVERYONE IS WELL HYDRATED BEFORE THEIR DESCENT INTO SLEEPYTIME LAND.

of course, it doesn't take him long to get those things done. Mikoshiba is probably yelling at him to hurry anyway. so he is! he'll come back in there and lay down now, on his back, unlike everyone else... wtf ]

[Luke is still sitting with his legs curled up to his stomach when Nozaki returns to the dark room to watch movies and settle for sleep. He's not particularly good at sleeping away from home, and the amount of unfamiliar faces has him wide awake.

He waves quietly at Nozaki as the taller man gets settled, his voice soft when he speaks.]

Hi, Mr. Nozaki. Thank you for having everyone over for the party.

Movies + Sleepover Time

[ Mayu tries to sleep as close to Mikoshiba as possible. Some Pokémon form a cuddle pile around him. For when he isn't asleep, the judo movies interest him.]

[ Mayu was truly touched by how much thought was put into celebrating his birthday. He didn't put much thought into turning 16. He bows in from of everyone.]
