I'll give him a PIZZA MY MIND ROFLMHOOMGLOLOLOLOL
WHO: Captain Hammer, OPEN!
WHAT: Hammer's organized a little meet 'n greet over pizza, his treat. What a nice superhero!
WHEN: November 27, 2013 - 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Geraldi's Pizzeria - Genessia City
NOTES: Both prose and [action] tags are fine! There's also no pose order. GO NUTS. Don't forget to add your tag!
There's something very inviting about a pizza parlor. The combination of spices never fails to set a man's stomach to grumbling, and Captain Hammer is no exception. He's arrived twenty minutes early to put down an order for three extra large pies, figuring that would probably be enough to feed the ones who responded to his proposition. And if more arrive, they'll just order a few more pizzas.
He figured this was a good way for the people stuck in this weird little dump to know who they could befriend (each other) and who they could rely on to punch villains in the face (and that would be him).
The pizzas were set out on a long, high table ringed by barstools. There were plates, napkins, forksfor the weak, a basket of breadsticks, a pitcher of root beer on one end, and a pitcher of real beer on the other. Hammer himself was perched on one of the barstools, enjoying a slice of pizza heaped with pepperoni and olives. One boot rested on the floor, the other was hooked on the lowermost rung of his barstool.

"Huntresses, huh? Do you happen to know Ruby by any chance? She mentioned the same thing about a monster combat school. She's an acquaintance of mine, I met her when I first arrived here" Sofia hands back Blake's weapon to it's owner.

"Yes, she and her sister, Yang, are my teammates." She set the weapon back on its place over her shoulder. "There's a fourth member as well, but there's been no sign of her so far."
The Weiss in this headspace just Schneezed.
I met Yang as well, we met just yesterday when she arrived from the Bay. I'm glad you have your friends with you in this world, being by yourself in a different universe can be difficult to some at first.
[Not to her, in fact she prefers to be by herself. Or so she thinks. A part of her wishes she has her friends with her in Genessia, but she's never the type to admit that even to herself]
What can you tell me about this fourth member?
Oh, so you've got a Weiss, eh? /LOOMS
Being on her own was nothing new to Blake. It had even been her first instinct when she first arrived and believed herself to be without her team. Still, having Ruby, Yang and even Jaune here made her feel... better.
When the subject of Weiss comes up, Blake glances to the side. Weiss was rather adamant that whatever issues had come up between them we over and buried, but....
"I can tell you that her family is one of the largest energy producers of our world." And not much else. For starters, she didn't even know why a member of the Schnee family would be attending Beacon and the rest... well, she just didn't think Weiss would appreciate Blake spilling too much about her to a stranger.
Thinking of sending her here. Still not sure if that is a Weiss decision
"What kind of energy system does your world run on? You mentioned electronics earlier" Sofia looked at Blake with genuine curiosity when she posed that question. Energy sources is a matter close to home for Sofia, being someone who practically runs on batteries now.
But look at all the castmates. We're at, like, 75% completion right now
"It's called Dust. It's mined from the earth and generates everything from electricity, to fire, even ice. Even my weapon is powered by it." She glanced back over her shoulder again, frowning a little. She was running short, and she didn't imagine that Ruby or Yang had much more. "We're going to have to figure something out for that soon."
Cuz I want to play against a Weiss. Can't muncest ;~;
"Right. You'll need supplies of this Dust..." Sofia scratches her chin while thinking of ways to help. Her employers could always deliver in some Dust or other materials if an agent requested, but that's if the higher ranks would allow it. They never do without good reason to avoid multiversal political disputes about jurisdiction.
"Can you still fight without relying on Dust?" Sofia likes Blake, Ruby, and Yang so far. They all remind her of people back home and a little bit of herself. Since she is practically a walking fusion reactor, sharing fractions of the Venator's battery power to make their weapons function might work as a temporary solution. But she never tried it on Dust-based tech before...
I see. Well, I can understand that.
"Of course." Even without Dust, she had her Aura and semblance to fight with as well as her skills. Dust was a powerful tool, but it was still just that, a tool, and not something to be relied on alone. "... I could create one of those Archways, but...."
She lets that hang in the air. Creating an Archway came with a price, it would cost something precious to her, and there wasn't much she was willing to give up.

Sofia just leans back on her chair. "I can't say I'm willing to give up something of mine just to create an Archway. We could all make do of what we have here. This place isn't so bad compared to... some worlds I've been to before, where food and water are worth more than gold" Sofia shrugged like suffering of that level isn't a big deal to her anymore. Sofia used to look more at the bright side of things in life, but seeing worlds like that just really made her question things and slowly descend to being completely jaded.

Still, something Sofia said gets a frown out of her.
"Wait. You can travel between worlds? Have you tried leaving this place yet?"
no subject
"I don't have an official job title, but we call simply call ourselves 'Preventers'. Anything from monsters invading human cities and other supernatural threats, it's our job to stop those before they happen" Sofia didn't feel too confident on the inside when describing her job as a preventer, because they're not always successful. Her last mission was an example of that.
no subject
"Does that mean you can use... whatever it is to leave here?" It might be a longshot, but if it means getting back home, Blake will try for it.

And this woman is worried about losing her job.
"But what about the rest of us? Could you help us get back home, or at least contact somebody and tell them what's going on here?"
Don't mind the other response
"I can't take you home through the methods I use. You will need something similar to a passport to be able to go to the Nexus" Sofia paused. "As for you getting pulled into an alien world, that's going to take a lot of explaining..."
What other response?
"So, does that mean you have some idea about what this... place is?"
I made two different replies, it's no biggie.
Just playing along.
"Okay, but that doesn't explain why we're here. Or why this place wants us to give something up to make an Archway that leads to a bad copy of our homes."

"For example, I knew this ethnic group from one of my missions. We called them the Ylyans. They possessed a unique ability to convert water into a solid object that isn't ice. They could shape it to whatever way they want, and as dense as they could. They even used it as weapons strong enough to cut through bronze. We got reports of a lot of them suddenly missing from their native universe. Showing up in newly born worlds just like this one we're in. Even when we got them back home, new reports came in and showed native people from worlds the Ylyans were taken to, began showing similar abilities" Sofia slides the holographic images, showing a new group. "Now these people can do the same things the Ylyans could, just with oil, the others with their own blood, and then this group can do the opposite and turn solid objects into liquid..."
