Going to the Worn Wand Bar to get a map was a simple task. The bartender has many stacks of the map to handout. On the back of the map is a list of names. Peddlers and Archaeologists that will pay for items found in the ruins. The Bartender is happy to give out these maps, seeing as he gets a small commission for any items that the Peddlers and Archaeologist in up buying. But you have your map and you’re off.
A trek through the forest and you come up to the ruins. There is something in the air of the ruins. It’s not dangerous nor is it friendly. It’s just best to be on your guard..
The corridors in the ruins are large and there are many rooms and pathways throughout the place. The place is old, so some of the walls are collapsed. Though it is possible that it is from a battle and not from age.
The first two floors are only populated by Reanimated Skeletons, Living Vines, Clockroaches and Dire Bats . They exist on the other three floors as well, but those floors also contain Giant Boars, Dire Wolves, Twig Blights, Barfhest and Stone Golems. The creatures leave behind no corpses when they are vanished. Instead they dissolve and dissipate in a black mist.

Oh boy, finally some excitement! Get a load of my Sucker Punch, suckers!"
So Gengar, with ethereal speed, went around clocking kobolds on the head without so much as a passing stab. Because Sucker Punch always goes first.
Ted stayed on defense, putting his recently acquired martial arts skills to the test, kicking away spears and deflecting blows away from Luke's person. "Goodness, what rakes." One made a lunge, which Ted barely disarmed. Adrenaline got the better of him, as he made a lunge for the kobold's fragile little neck before choke slamming it to the ground. This was kinda fun! Hopefully the bloodlust wouldn't get too infectious.

"Just focus on solving the puzzle, okay? These little guys shouldn't be any trouble." Speak for yourself Koishi! More doors were opening, rocks raining down on Ted and Gengar. Nothing really dangerous but a good hit might leave a bruise. soon after an arrow followed, hitting the ground at Ted's feet.
Koishi would have moved to help Ted, but she paused, tilting her head. She widened the shield as something liquid and very hot was poured down where Luke was standing. Oil? Well the shield was more than enough and Luke was entirely unharmed.
Okay this was getting out of hand.
Koishi zipped up quickly, catching the trapdoor before it was shut and half crawling and squeezed. A moment later several other trapdoors were highlighted by flashes of light coupled with the familiar prickle of magic and the squeal of the creatures. Seven or eight other kobolds fell from the ceiling, flushed from hiding as they attempted to escape the searing magic.
I still need the rest of the puzzleeee
And a bit crass.
But the sucker punches, as Gengar was calling them, seemed to be working well. And whatever Koishi had just done was going to work well with Gengar's very cheerful sucker punches, because all of the kobolds were climbing from their ceiling hiding places. Now they could be sucker punched away.
"Hey! Gengar, you can punch away now, they've all come out of hiding. Just be careful!" Oh my gosh did this child just speak Pokemon language? Yes, he did.
Anyway, back to puzzle solving
that the mun still needs the rest of the details forRe: I still need the rest of the puzzleeee
Gengar was confident that his incorporeal state would allow him to pass through attacks unharmed. Too bad that didn't work with rock types. He took his frustrations out on Luke. "Ow, ow! Hey, zip it half-pint! You can't tell me what to do; only master can, and most times not even then! Wait, hold on, how are you--"

Clever little shit.
Luke takes the moment to turn his attention back to the puzzle. If it's a sequence of numbers....then it must want the next.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, the next is eight. So the last letter must be 'E'. But where do I put the answer?"

The ones that hadn't gotten away were either unconscious, badly wounded, or dead.
The little youkai remained primed, her body coiled for another moment before she slowly relaxed, tentacles slowly sliding back up into her sleeves. One stopped short, wrapping up and around her arm instead, several scratches visible on it. She probably wanted to wait for the wound to dry before putting that one away.
"Spiteful little creatures..."
Koishi plz put away the ugly icons kthx
A spear interrupted his train of thought, passing harmlessly through his ghostly torso. Annoyed, he extended his thick pink tongue up and over, tapping the insolent lizard three times on the head. Its limbs stiffened before dropping to the ground like a rigid plank.
Then Gengar caught sight of the would-be escapees. ""Oh no ya don't! C'mere you pansies!" He vanished into the walls, followed by three thumps and three squeals. Looks like someone really wanted to level up.
Ted was occupied more with how surreal this all was. "Luke, are you...talking with him? Or just teasing? Either one comes as a shock."
Speaking of Luke, apparently the ruins divined his answer, and lifted up the etched wall of its own accord after he gave it. If Luke searched very carefully, poking at the walls and random places, he might even get a hint coin.
I for one think it's a nice icon
Luke that's...only sort of what he asked you.
"You really ought to tell him not too be so crass, Mr. Ted. He isn't....erm. He's not quite polite..."
Luke's commentary falls off as he eyes Koishi. Adrenaline has him less concerned about her more youkai-like appearance. Instead, he's more focused on the wound on her still visible tentacle. "Koishi...are you okay?"
Luke's bag of things has proven useful once again. He's got a small first aid kit, and inside ate some bandages. He holds the box in both hands, looking between Ted and Koishi. "I've a bandage if you need. Either of you. I had that...er...bubble."
I do too :D
She blinked as she was addressed, turning to face Luke. She was keeping her left eye closed though, features shifting subtly, and quickly. She had put her mask back in quickly. Absently she was already drifting toward Luke, rubbing her left eye with the back of her hand. "Oh...? OH!" She stopped, looking down at her arm. "No I'm fine. It's just a scratch."
She moved quickly over to Luke, holding out her arm and the tentacle. The scratch was a bit deep but it had only gone through the loose skin and not actually injured the tendons or cartilage inside. With how the tentacle wrapped and stretched up and around her arm the wound was being held closed anyway. Or mostly closed at least. "Youkai heal faster than humans. I'll be fine. It's just uncomfortable. I'm more worried about your safety."
She reached down and took out one of her pokeballs and sending out Gallade. "Here. It might be good if Gallade watches your back. He's good at that." The pokemon gave a curt nod, smiling down at Luke. He was rather quiet most of the time but had certainly grown attached to the little apprentice while Koishi had left him and Ivysaur there.

"Yeah, whaddaya want? You're welcome, by the way."
"Stop being crass."
"...And who the heck's that guy?" Gengar pointed at Gallade. "I thought I was the lead pokemon here. Fine, whatever, if that's the thanks I get. I'm tired. I wanna go home and watch cartoons. Sniff you jerks later."
Gengar plopped his ghostly butt on the ground, which Ted took for a sign of fatigue. "All right, you've earned it. Good work." Back in the ball he went.
Those rocks must have hit Ted harder than he thought, for his brain suddenly caught up to what he was really interested in. "That's amazing, Luke! No wonder you and Strength get along so well. You'll have to tell me what Gengar eats; he's so picky. Now, let's see what else awaits us."
The door led down a narrowing corridor, the quiet of the hallway building up feelings of anticipation. Ted felt that silence was the only adequate pose; a rare stance for him.
The stone and walls of the ruins grew more ruinous as they proceeded, as though they were nearing the heart of some central decay. Finally, the hall opened up into a wide room. Even the scraps of ancient civilization gave way to pure earth. The intelligence of architecture faded into plain and barren rock. It looked like they had come to the foundation of the ruins.
But the strangest thing were the odd, almost imperceptible tremors one could feel. As though every step produced a shiver in the earth. Nothing rumbled, nothing shook, and yet it seemed as though the ground beneath them was alive.
Ted didn't notice, though. He was eager to see what was next. "How large! We must be getting close to the bottom. Let's see where the next door is."
But not all the earth was random. Some of it was very purposeful indeed. A novice's eye would pass over a large mound of rocks that lay about fifty yards from where the group entered. Woe to those who awaken the golem, for it does not want you to leave.

"If you need a bandage Koishi, I've plenty. Same thing for you, Mr. Ted." A pause as the trio presses forward, "and if you really want I can ask what Gengar likes to eat best..."
His experiences with Layton have taught him to be respectful of ruins. As the area becomes more dilapidated, Luke takes more care with his steps, moves more slowly and more lightly.
The large door and pile of rocks had the apprentice on edge--not to mention the rumbling tremors. While Ted was eager to press on, Luke hesitated. He's quiet when he talks, and is rather tempted to tell Ted to hush up a bit too.
"Does anyone else feel that rumbling?"
no subject
"No. I'll be fine. It didn't even break all the way through the skin. Once its dry I can put it away properly. And if it doesn't dry I can clean it back at home. It's not that far away." The scratches on the tendril were superficial really. Enough to make her bleed but about as dangerous as a paper-cut. Though no doubt a scab on such a flexible appendage would be extremely annoying. Good thing youkai healed quickly.
She didn't seem to worry too much about the way the ruins were growing more and more decayed. She lived underground after all and had probably seen her own fair share of ruins. She did, however, hold up her hand, the light magic Luke was carrying brightening some and ensuring they could see ahead.
She did, however, move in front of both Luke and Ted as they entered the new room, drifting out slowly into the center, eyes growing brighter as she looked around. No immediate threats, though she sensed a faint psychic signature. "There's something here. I can sense it. Ribbons of silver string unraveling and winding and re-knitting... So be very quiet, okay?"
Koishi, of course, didn't feel the rumbling while in the air but Gallade stiffened instantly as he stepped forward. He looked up at Koishi and was about to speak when Luke mentioned the rumbling.
'I feel it too. Stay close.'
At Luke's words Koishi drifted down herself, testing the ground with one foot and then with the palm of her hand. Her eyes narrowed, lips pursing. "That's not natural. We should move on quickly... But walk lightly."

He tread delicately, putting his ballet lessons and martial arts training to use. And then his movements felt funny. Not as limber, nor as easy. His quickness dulled, legs becoming sluggish and requiring twice the effort to move. Quicksand? No, the ground looked as it always had.
"Does anyone else feel a bit...weighed down?" At least his mouth hadn't moved any slower. Then it revealed itself. The mound of earth rumbled and awoke, a large, humanoid form with a glowing green core in its chest. Weighing in at 2,000 pounds, this was the golem.
It was more than animate stone. For one, it slowed all its prey, making them move and act at a reduced rate. It also had a supernatural stone hardiness, being immune to most magic or spellcraft. Luckily, it too wasn't as fast as your average man, and definitely not as fast as Ted.
But Ted wasn't at his quickest, just then. Run, or fight? Well, what kind of a man would run at first blush? Panicking, he tried to remember which ball kept his grass type. Oh what the heck, they were all grass! He fumbled, finally choosing...Cacturne!
The scarecrow pokemon shined forth, ready to do battle. "Spiky Shield, now!" Its skin prickled into a thorny green mass, ready to shield from the earthen violence about to commence.
