[Danny hated the entire Christmas season. That hadn't changed.
But last year he'd made a promise to give it a try this year. To try and keep from ruining anyone else's enjoyment of the season.
You know what really wasn't helping with that? Christmas decorations. Everywhere.
And they kept reappearing. He'd already taken five trashbags full of decorations out of his apartment, and they kept showing up again.]
Somebody please tell me there's a non-Christmas place to hang out. I mean, we've got a huge area here. There's gotta be at least one place where all this Christmas stuff hasn't gotten. RIght?

[Just the mention of that particular Christmas tradition was enough to put Danny in a sour mood. ]

(Mark frowns when he notices Danny's expression, but he decides to not bother him about why he seems bothered. He'll let Danny mention why on his own, if he ever even wants to.)
Because, magically reappearing trees and stuff...not exactly something my world is full of. Of course, stories of magical people? Tons of that going around. (A pause.) Sorry, but I totally get being annoyed right now about it. (Of course in Mark's case - another holiday without his family.)

[Hey, in Danny's world this was a perfectly reasonable explanation. ]
...Yeah, I'm not really a Christmas fan to start with. This isn't really helping.

(An eyebrow raise follows that.) I don't know if we can pin this sort of thing on ghosts.
(He's not much of a believer, but he also knows that waking up in a pod and later enough decorations to bankrupt a store showing up in an apartment overnight isn't exactly normal so alright, it might be ghosts. Jerk ghosts.) But, alright. Maybe. Let's not rule it out.
You aren't? Well, ...(Mark can't say he's not a fan of Christmas, but he totally thinks he gets why someone might not be a fan.) Well, in any case, it's kind of annoying that things were just hung up like this without anyone being asked what they wanted. Good intentions or not.

[Although if it was them it would probably involve more glowing flying ornaments and speeches about doom and taking over the world. Ghosts were not subtle, usually.]
