FORWARD DATED: Dec. 23rd: Christmas Party & Cheer: OPEN

[ooc: Feel free to make top posts! Levy's invited her friends but its more or less an open invitation. Come crash a party~ She'll also send another message and directions before the party]

[Levy goes above and beyond to make this party amazing. She has even hired someone to cater it which she is thankful for because her skills with cooking usually extend to reading directions and boiling water. She makes sure to have a mixture of drinks both alcoholic and not, very much the Fairy Tail idea of a party. Of course there are decorations all over the outside and inside of the house and a few sprigs of mistletoe that wait unsuspecting in doorways to ensnare guests. Of course kisses on the hand and cheek count just as much as kisses on the lips.

Knowing that the house might be to small Levy's set up a fire pit outside, allowing people to enjoy the warmth of the flame while surrounded by the cold air. The party is scheduled into the evening and eventually stars will dot the blanket of dark that covers the night sky. Levy has also planned fireworks which can't possibly go wrong!

Holiday music plays inside mostly from a CD that she bought and people are welcome to dance if they want to. Most of the songs are slower though there are a few quick ones in the mix. She set up a few games hoping that it was enough to keep everyone happy and entertained. She might be trying a little to hard for things to go well.

In the main room there is a large excellently decorated tree. Beneath it Levy has put her gifts to her friends. It's definitely worth checking out however everyone will discover they got books for Christmas. They all suit who they are address to but they are books with a card tapped to the brightly colored wrapping that expresses holiday greetings. A few of her close friends have special gifts though Levy has them stashed away for later.]

Helloo

Hello! [The chef for the event- sporting a red rudolph nose- chirped back happily when he heard Nagisa, turning to face him and nodding toward him.] Enjoying the party? I tried to do my best to make a wide variety of meals, though I don't know if I could get everyone's fancy. Hopefully you'll find something you enjoy. Goat Curry, Chazuke-stock Risotto, Osso Buco...

[Concern crosses his expression when he realizes he may have gone overboard on the pork based meals, between the Osso Buco and the Dongpo, though he's still smiling.] Well, maybe next year.

Is it me your looking for~? (Sorry I had to)

[He is listening quietly to what the other had to offer, he didn't mind much what he ate himself, so why not try a bit of everything while he can, after all he was not meant to be.]

Did you really make a Goat Curry?
theonewithsixeyes: (chef)

pffhahaha

[personal profile] theonewithsixeyes 2015-12-20 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you haven't heard of it? It's actually pretty popular in Caribbean cuisine, though I imagine more mainland countries wouldn't even consider it. I was surprised I could find goat at all here, honestly. Though people tend to substitute lamb where goat isn't available, I was starting to think I'd have to do the same.

Why don't you try it out? Though it is a little spicy, fair warning.

I have heard of Goat and Curry, but never together, no. So what is good about the goat for people to want to make curry from it?

[He was sure he could handle it, he hoped anyway.]

I'll give it a try. What is the worst that can happen.
theonewithsixeyes: (it's done!)

Because goat is extremely good at absorbing the curry spices, even more than most meat. It's both tender and firm, you can take a bite out of it without it being too tough but without it completely falling apart, and combining that with the flavor of the curry being fused into it... well, it only seems natural it'd be delicious.

Help yourself! I made plenty. Get some rice to go with it as well.

[Nagisa helped himself to some of it, not a lot but enough that he could actually try it and see what it was like. He made sure he had a fork before finally digging in and taking a bite. He let the flavours linger for a moment or to and let it all sink in before speaking again.]

How you are really a good chef.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it, more than anything. If I'm going to make anything, it should be something those who eat it enjoy above all else, right?

There's cookies too if you're looking for something sweet afterwards as well. [He seems pretty proud of himself, planting his hands on his own hips and smiling wide.]

How long have you been in Genessia?

I know, I'll get to the cookies later, first things first is just trying a bit of everything I can.

[How long be paused on that question.]

Around two months or coming up to two months anyway.

You've been here for the long haul then, huh? Have you enjoyed your stay so far? I always hear about how peaceful it is here, but I'm new and I just got here myself, so I figured it couldn't help to ask others in the same boat.

Have you managed to settle in well? If I'm prying too much, don't be afraid to tell me, though.

I wouldn't call two months the long haul. People over six months sure, those a year definitely.

[He figured he would know with time though.]

As for settling I've settled better than I ever expected, but I still have that homesickness I guess.

I guess. But for those who've lived their lives somewhere else entirely, even two months can feel like a long time.

As for being homesick... well, that probably won't go away for a while. By then, most people would have given up on going home, and consider this place their new home. Hopefully that won't end up being the case, though.

[personal profile] strawberrypenguin 2015-12-23 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
True, it makes me miss home a lot and the friends who aren't here as I mentioned. I know it won't go away and I hope it doesn't anyway and I do hope it's not the case anyway.

Though I guess if we make new friends it will make it harder to want to go home.
theonewithsixeyes: (I'm gonna kill everything)

[personal profile] theonewithsixeyes 2015-12-24 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, no kidding... but everyone moves on eventually, right? I guess this could be seen as just another phase of life. We could end up home at any time, so maybe make the most of it while we're here.

I'm definitely sure you'll see your friends again, though.

Nice way of thinking and something I plan on doing the best I can.

But I hope I do. Though would you have anyone you would like to see.

I do have a couple of people. Knowing they're here would let me know they're safe. Things were getting kind of intense back home when I ended up here, so I'm still a little nervous.

I wouldn't know what tense would be like. When I was dragged here things were okay in my world.
