[ Lucy is looking a good deal more serious on the feed this time around, and for a good reason. Innocent mages were being targeted. This was a -little- too close to home. Still, she's looking pretty positive about the situation. Behind and slightly to the side of her, Natsu is standing guard for the duration of the entry. ]

As a number of you are already aware from Loki, there's an anti magic sentiment brewing amongst a faction known as the Hands of Decay. There's already been one casualty. In the interest of minimizing, if not completely eliminating the number casualties, on behalf of Fairy Tail, we're granting safe haven to any mages currently in Fayren that are afraid they may be targeted by this group, as well as non mages who might worry the same. We are cooperating with Loki with regards to their safety and the guild will be additionally protected with shields in case anyone tries to gain entry who isn't meant to.

And if any members of the Hands of Decay see this message, I leave you with a warning: Fairy Tail protects its own, and that includes the mages you're persecuting.

{ You see that, Lucy? He's actually just about a block away from the inn in Fayren. He's on a bench next to the cobblestone street; the necklace is on his lap, but the surface is too flat to be his lap. A book, maybe? }

As I told Mewtwo, I am willing to place Sayla at the disposal of those fighting them. She's an Etherious, and uses Curses. Their poison shouldn't affect her as strongly as it would a human. I am hesitant to get involved myself, because I cannot be sure how Ankhseram's curse will react to poison that affects magic.

{ They have a common enemy. Zeref is willing to cooperate, at least as far as this group of terrorists is concerned. }

For that matter... You must ensure Mavis isn't exposed to that poison, either.

[ By the time Zeref responds, Lucy is already attending to a group of mages that were taking refuge in the guild. So she's startled at the response, having not expected him to respond. ]

If you're lucky that's true. Not knowing what's in the Magus Bane, it's still too early to make claims like that. They could be lying about it not affecting humans without magic. Anyone that takes a life that callously for such stupid reasons can't be trusted as being truthful. They may as well be hiding information, or only telling us what we want to hear, want to assume to be true.

[ She also wouldn't be comfortable with him in the guild around a number of mages and humans. If the curse acted up, it would be a higher number of casualties than anything the Hands of Decay could do. ]

On that you don't have to tell me. She _is_ the first Master. But I can't and won't make decisions for her.

[ Mavis' safety isn't the only one she'd be worried about. If she tells Mavis to get out and run, or go to another city where it's safer, and Mavis says no, she wouldn't be able to do much about it. ]

It is a risk I would be willing to take. Sayla's Curse, Macro, would, actually, be the best suited out of all of my demons for something like this. { Though it would be even better if Wall were here. He's a machina; he doesn't even have any blood for the poison to infect. And groups like this are what the Spriggan Twelve eat for breakfast. }

I know better than most how stubborn she can be. It is because she is one of the few people in either world that can truly claim to be able to relate to me that she must not be allowed to touch that poison. { Zeref huffs, annoyed, shifting his position on that bench. This is clearly bothering him. }

She will want to take part, however. There is little that even I would be able to do to stop her, other remind her that there will inevitably be casualties. { And if he's right about her, that's actually a good thing. } Hopefully, she will only be involved in a commanding role. Her title of 'Fairy Strategist' is well-earned. History regards her as the decisive factor in her side's victory during the Second Trade War.

[ Lucy would be very happy if -fewer- of his allies and demons were here, thank you very much. ]

I'm sure she already has alternate exits planned out in case the Hands of Decay do think to try to attack the guild.

[ She IS the Fairy Tactician. However she didn't point out that if the guild -was- attacked, Lucy would have her hands full witih keeping everyone calm. There was only herself, Natsu and Mavis that would be from Fairy Tail after all. She wouldn't ask Levy because her friend was probably having her hands full helping with the election and her own store. ]

It'll work out. [ She had to have hope in that much. ]

That isn't what I am worried about.

{ Though she's probably right about that, at least. }

If they choose to attack me, know in advance that I won't hold back. I dislike fighting, but I have little tolerance for these types of people. Perhaps I'll ask Suigintou if I can observe from the N-Field.

{ And yes, he did just contradict himself by saying he'd kill them, and then immediately after say he'll hide in a pocket dimension. }

[ She looked momentarily confused. The guild was only being used for people either hiding from the Hands of Decay - and she had plans if they DID attack the guild, but it wasn't like -he- was going to be there. That would be a mistake of all mistakes. He told her about that curse of his after all. ]

That might be better.

[ Observing from a pocket dimension, where he won't put anyone's lives at risk. ]

We need to -capture- the enemy, not kill them.

{ If he is right about her, then she shouldn't be exposed to the poison for the exact same reason he shouldn't be. But it isn't his place to tell Fairy Tail; it's Mavis'. He's gathered by now that they still haven't been told the truth about their Guild Master, or ~~Lumen Histoire~~ Fairy Heart. }

Speaking from experience, Lucy, you can't reason with ideologues like this. No more than they can convince you that magic is evil and that you should renounce your guild and give up your Keys.

If you do manage to capture them, I hope, for your sake, that this world has a prison that can hold them. And that their leaders are held in solitary confinement.

No, I know that. [ She makes a face at the thought that someone would even think of telling her to renounce the guild. Even when the guild disbanded and everyone left her, she never did that. Not even the Master - any of them - could tell her to do something like that. ]

Well, if we manage to capture any of the culprits, we're not going to imprison them anywhere near the mages. We'll bring them to Loki.

And what will this 'Loki' do?

That's up to him. I'm not at liberty to discuss his plans for them. Maybe he'll take them to the authorities in Fayren, or he'll deal out justice himself. Why?

Hmm.

{ Can he truly trust Loki? Zeref doesn't know him, so he can't say one way or another. But if nothing else, he doesn't want to get involved, if he can help it. That bounty that he let Fairy Tail (specifically, Mavis) claim was entirely unintentional; those two mages just picked the wrong guy to try to rob. }

Mavis has yet to disappoint me. Neither have you. I'll let Fairy Tail handle this, for now. I hope that I am not given cause to reconsider. Much like with Acnologia in our world, if I feel that others cannot deal with them...

I will not stay on the side lines.

[ Loki was the first person to even address the issue even though he was already in the elections; even though he wasn't actually a mage. Lucy saw no reason not to trust him. ]

Did you consider that we need these people alive to find out if there are other allies, or cures for their poisons? We can't get information from them if they're dead.

I know that. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not without mercy.

If any of them prove difficult to break, let me know. I'll send Sayla to loosen their lips. Kyôka wasn't the only effective interrogator in Tartaros. And unlike her, Sayla's methods are actually quite painless.

{ ... usually. Hopefully she'll be in a good mood and just force them to spill their secrets with Macro, rather than make them play Russian Roulette or something. }

[ Zeref, the last thing Lucy wants is have one of -them- within five feet of her or the guild. XD She does, however, bite her tongue to avoid scoffing at his idea of mercy. She still hasn't forgotten he had threatened Natsu. The idea was kind of Sayla torturing someone is uncomfortable at least. ]

[ Maybe. It's not up to her what happens to the captive, after all. If _Loki_ wants Zeref to send Sayla to torture the person that's different, though. ]

The key point will be capturing someone, if we're lucky. This isn't the kind of operation that would be successful overnight - they're probably an organized group with multiple hiding places, at best. They know they have to have enraged the entire magic community with what they've done, and they're not likely to go running about half cocked again. They're going to be even more cautious.

Unfortunately, most of my magic isn't well-suited for capturing somebody alive. I can freeze time, but that is a temporary solution at best.

Are Gray and Juvia still present in this world? I've been... rather scarce, lately. I've had much to think about, after visiting the Dream Docks.

[ She hesitates a moment, and then sighs. ]

No, I don't think so. I haven't seen or heard anything from either of them in months...and Erza is gone.

... I see.

{ He actually sounds rather disappointed to hear that. Erza didn't trust him - nor should she - but they still had a deal that Zeref had every intention of honoring. He could be called many things, but a liar wasn't one of them. As for Gray... he was actually starting to enjoy their talks. }

In that case, I have very little to suggest. But if you wished to send a strong message in addition to rendering their poison moot, enlist non-mages to fight them. I've met quite a few here who are surprisingly talented fighters, some of whom weren't even aware of the existence of magic.

It's no matter, we can make do without them. [ They had for a little while before that, after all. ]

I've been quite impressed by Ruby and Weiss, so far. When I met with Ruby before - { Not this Ruby, they've only spoken over the devices, not in person } - she seemed quite enthusiastic about her scythe. I didn't sense magic in her... At least, not in the sense that you or I would know it.

I know Weiss. I'm sure she's occupied with the election - and she'll have her hands full once the results are in.

[ Being that it looks like she had this in the bag, unless some miraculous event overturned things. ]

But I think that 'dust' thing they use is..similar to magic. I don't know if that would be affected by the poison, and I'm not sure i would want to risk it.

Mm... { He thought Dust was an external magic source, rather than internal. But she had a point. He was trying to see this as a war in order to keep his Curse under control; but just like in Alvarez, seeing the lives of others as pieces on a chessboard didn't mean he had to be careless and impulsive.}

A while back, there were people here with very impressive technology. It reminded me of Machina technology, from our world, but I don't think it was fueled by magic. Are they still here?

[ Well, even if it was an external magic source, they need to use it to cast whatever tricks they have - and the poison could affect them that way. She was trying to see it from all angles. ]

I... don't know. Do you remember their names or anything? Appearances?

Armor that covered their entire bodies and obscured their faces.

Eh...? I .. haven't seen anyone matching that kind of description in...well..ever since I got here, actually. [ She thinks; and she watched the network pretty regularly. ]

Perhaps they left, too, then. { Well, crap. } I don't suppose the people who use "life fibers" would work for this?

{ He's pretty much guessing at this point. }

[ Why did that sound so familiar... wasn't that something Satsuki had talked about their uniforms having? ]

I'm not sure. I don't know how the poison would effect someone who uses enchanted clothing or ..well, anything like that.

[ Plus she isn't sure she trusts Satsuki entirely. ]

{ Zeref sighs. Clearly, he needs to resume his research of magic from other worlds. He got a bit sidetracked by his Curse reactivating, and Mavis wanting to give their relationship another chance, something he was all too happy to agree to. But still... Not only was this a chance to get his Curse back under control, they had a common enemy. And as Mavis had pointed out, nothing promotes a truce quite like that. }

I know you don't trust me, Lucy, and nor should you. But these people pose every bit as much a threat to me as they do to you. If you need anytning, don't hesitate to ask.

[ She frowned slightly, glancing away from the feed for a moment, thoughtful. ]

[ Even though they were temporary allies in the matter, it would be debatable that she'd be able to bring herself to ask him for help. But stranger things have happened! Like her having feelings for Natsu. ._.;; ]

Make sure they don't hurt Natsu, either. { Which reminds him, he needs to find a safe place to stash the Book of E.N.D. for now. Maybe he'll give it to Suigintou for now, until this whole thing blows over. }

Oh... and one more thing. Do you remember the deal I had with Erza?

[ She sighs. Okay she let it go when he told her to protect Mavis. But Natsu too? Seriously? And hey, he could just give her the book, and she'd keep it safe. Out of your hands. >D ]

He's my partner. You *really* think you have to tell me that? Really?

[ NO PRESSURE, ZEREF. Just expect her to protect the mages, protect Mavis, protect Natsu - geez, you've got her protecting everyone but herself. THANKS BUDDY :D ]

I can see how close you two are. It's just something I feel the need to say. Pay it no mind, if you wish. { His brother and Layla's daughter, and they're both in Mavis' guild. It's too much of a coincidence. ~~And come on, Natsu would roast any of these guys if they so much as looked at her.~~ }

She never told you? Or maybe it was the last time you were here... regardless, I asked her to inform me immediately if any of the Etherious, of their Books appeared in this world. I told her it was the only way anything involving them would end without bloodshed. She was, understandably, resistant to the idea, until I pointed out to her that I am the only one here who has nothing to gain by having them. { Since, you know, he wrote them, and can always just do so again. Not that he particularly wants to, but the implication was a bluff, and it worked. } I mentioned before that I went to the Dream Docks. There is something else that I would like to ask to watch for, in case they appear here.

If that were true, you wouldn't be telling me to look out for Natsu.

[ It was kind of insulting. Not to mention she felt he had -no- right to even say that, considering he's threatened Natsu before. ]

Telling a Fairy Tail wizard to watch out for Fairy Tail wizards is equivalent to telling someone to breathe. I don't need you to tell me that.

[ She tapped her finger on her desk a moment. ]

That being said I'll keep that in mind, about other demons, or the books. [ And hope to -god- none of them show up. She wouldn't have bought the 'nothing to gain' line. How would having more allies that were pretty much obsessed with him be 'nothing to gain'? ]

{ It's actually much more complicated than that, but he's certainly not going to drop that bombshell on Lucy. At Lucy's next question, Zeref reached down for a stick, and began drawing something in the snow near the bench he was seated at. It took almost two minutes; apparently, it's something quite intricate. When at last it was done, Zeref picked up his amulet, and pointed it at the snow. }

[ Lucy coughed softly. ]

No.. Master Makarov did, and the rest of the guild. [ Mavis may have formed the guild, but she didn't have anything to do with guiding them and giving them those tight bonds. She was 'dead' at the time, remember. ]

What are you... [ She fell silent at the design, before shaking her head. ] Not particularly. Why? What is it?

{ But that was all originally her creed, which was passed down after her death. ~~Including that Gods-awful song, no wonder Precht lost it.~~ }

That is the Alvarez Imperial Crest. { Zeref is quiet for a few seconds, trying to decide how to continue on this subject. Mavis knew his connection to them - it wouldn't have been hard to put two and two together as to which nation he was referring to when he described himself as an "Emperor," and she might have even paid them a visit on occasion as a "ghost." But nobody else in Fairy Tail, not even Makarov, or anyone else in Tartaros for that matter knew he and "Emperor Spriggan" were one and the same.

He'll decide against it, for now. At least until someone else inevitably goes to the Dream Docks. }

If anyone appears in this world bearing that crest, let me know immediately, especially if they identify themselves as one of the "Shields of Spriggan."

[ She may have chosen the credo for the guild, but Makarov is the one that implemented it and upheld it, when he became Master for the current generation of mages. ]

I guess that's fair enough, sure. I'll mention it if I see someone like that. [ She's going to put a jewel in her 'hopes to never' jar though. ]

I would advise against making such comments aimed at them. You've likely made yourself a target now, and endangered anyone seeking asylum there. I would also suggest that you limit your refugees to only those with magical power. This gang has no apparent interest in anyone else, and opening your doors to those without power only opens more holes that a spy could exploit from within.

That was the point of the message. To make myself a target. The mages seeking asylum were in danger well before that, simply by being mages. The guild is well protected, and we are preparing for any eventuality. Fairy Tail doesn't discriminate against mages and non mages - so I have no intention of rejecting asylum to allies whether they have magic or not. Just because the Hands of Decay claim they have no interest in humans, doesn't mean that will remain the case. That sort of group would turn against allies of mages just as quickly as they turned on mages themselves.

[He sighs and rubs the side of his head.]

Then I cannot offer any resources to protecting the guild. I would only be putting more people at risk when they could be finding the source of the problem. I commend your bravery, but I fear you are only going to invite pain and misery on you and those around you by antagonizing this group.

The mage they attacked as a warning was no doubt as confident in his powers as you are in yours. However, these are not the type to engage in open combat. When they strike, it will be too late to counter. I have had dealings with their kind before, and it never ends well when someone attempts to be a hero.

[ She shakes her head. ]

I wasn't going to ask for any resources in the first place.

[ They've made do quite well on their own, and she doesn't put much faith in the current Guardian or the people that worked for her. She was already considering accepting help from one person and she -loathed- him and his people. ]

And your assumptions are incorrect, for that matter. This is not the first time my guild has dealt with this sort of enemy. You don't know anything about the preparations we've made or arrangements put in place at the guild, and I'm certainly not going to discuss them over -this-.

[ No more than shes already mentioned, anyway. And she certainly wasn't going to discuss it with him, since she doesn't trust him one little bit. ]

This has nothing to do with bravery, it's what's -right-. If you want to talk about people inviting pain and misery on those around them I suggest you direct that to the group that's started this.

Big words for some guy who has squat to show for it. You're about as competent as the Magic Council back in our world. Those guys all got taken out by ONE bomb happy idiot and you know who beat that guy? Lucy did.

And even without that, my senses let me detect trouble from miles away and I even have the power to attack from that distance. So ya see we're definitely better equipped to protect this place than you guys.

I've made a lot of connections in my time working in Fayren. I can keep you guys updated if I find out anything on the group?
