[ Video ]
[ Ferris was a bright young woman. It didn't take her long to figure things out, with the pamphlet she was provided. Figuring out the videophone took a little longer, but when she did manage to cue up a recording, the face of a beautiful blonde woman showed on the display. Her face, on the other hand, showed little to no expression as she began to speak. ]

Prior to my arrival in this place, I traveled with a man. My partner, Ryner Lute. He is an unrepentant sex fiend who lures women of all ages into his clutches, and discards them with nary a thought. I must know if such a person is in this place, immediately.

[ Because he's her important friend and she'll tear the head off anyone who lays a finger on him. She spent a long time searching for him, refusing to believe he was dead - ]

More importantly, I also wish to know the location of the nearest dango shops. [ She's sure whatever shops there are here will be subpar to the Wynnit dango shops, but she was willing to have an open mind in the matter. ]

[ Action ]
[ Shortly after making her post, she resumed her search through the Bay, passing a brief glance into some of the pods, finding most empty. Most, save for one. The familiar figure sleeping away had her breath a quiet sigh of relief, reassured by his presence. He was all right. For a second her mind stole back to the last memory she had, when she finally found him after nearly desperatelu searching, the embrace, and his arms around her - she shook her head slightly. Enough of that. Time 0to greet him in the usual fashion. ]

Oi, Ryner. Wake up.

[ Yes Ryner, wake up to the sight of your favorite bully as she hefted her godkilling sword above her head, then started to swing it down at the pod he's sleeping in, not even giving him a chance to start to wake up. She was confident he would be awake and dodge the strike in time. It's cool. Incidentally anyone in the area are of course free to come across the pair. ]

[He leads the way to the Inn. THe last worry on his mind is Dangos thought. AFter all they still have so many boxes left.]

[He has to put his foot in the door though when Ferris oh so helpfully doesn't hold the door. What a pair they must make for the innkeeper.]

[ They'll last only so long though, with Ferris. She could eat fix boxes in a day- maaaaybe two, depending on what she's doing. She glanced over her shoulder when she saw Ryner edging his way in with the boxes, and nodded to herself. He's fiiiiiiiiiiiiine. ]

Innkeeper. [ She addressed the woman who was watching Ryner with amusement, and then to Ferris.]

We require a room for the night. [ Well, probably more than a night, but. ] He's paying.

[ The innkeeper glanced between the lovely lady and her companion, hazarding a guess. ]

He's your...

[ Ferris is never one to pass up a chance to troll, thus... she nods, looking away with a hand at her cheek. ]

Yes. Our parents were overbearing and didn't want us to be together, so we eloped to be together. I didn't wish to betray them, but Ryner is so persuasive..~!

[ She is a terrible person. ]

[That's certainly true. But he's not going to let that stop him though. As soon as they were settled in.]

Hey what are you doing telling her that?!

[Choice of words likely isn't helping his case either.]

[ And Ferris just plays it up too, her attention shifting to Ryner and a tiny gasp escaping. ]

Ah! I'm sorry darling, but she seemed like such a kind, and understanding woman.

[ Pout. Except it kind of loses the effect when the eyes don't give away the pouty expression too. The innkeeper was too busy waving a hand reassuringly to pay that any mind though. ]

Oh Don't you worry your little head about it dears, I won't be telling anyone about your past. What's done is done, hm?

[Ryner just rolls his eyes at Ferris and decides it's not worth getting worked up. The innkeeper seems nice enough at least.]

You are too kind. Thank you very much. As you can see we're new to this place so we aren't familiar with the prices in this place.

[ What can she say, she enjoyed getting those reactions out of him. Ferris accepted this as a small victory for herself, settling back into her usual oh-so-expressive self, content. ]

Would you be able to provide a map of the local area as well as lodging? You can add the cost of the map to the cost of the room as well - he'll be paying.

[ Because she..kinda spent all her money already. But Ryner had to be expecting that. The innkeeper merely looked at the two like they were a pair of foolish kids who rushed into a situation. Young love! ]

Of course, ah - well I have a map of the local area, but anything more detailed, you'd have to find at the library in town.

[Yes he knows all too well how she loves being a sadist on his expense. So he just rolls with it. He does take out his envelope with the remaining cash.]

That will help regardless, if anything to at least find the library quicker. So how much will it be?

[ The innkeeper glanced between the two thoughtfully. ]

Oh, I wouldn't take my money out so blatantly like that dear. Thieves, you know. Anyway, just 50 a night. [ She may have charged them a little less than her usual patrons because she's a softie and a romantic at heart. ]

Will you two be staying long?

[He looked at her curiously before smiling reassuringly.]

Don't worry. We have our ways to deal with any unwanted attention we might get.

[50 a night huh? Too bad he's not thinking of asking if separate rooms or the same one. Regardless he passes payment for three nights in advance just to be sure.]

We just might. First we need to get the lay of the land and figure things out but this place feels the closest to home for us.

[ Oh dear no, the innkeeper wouldn't DREAM of separating a newly eloped couple! The innkeeper paused, still looking doubtful - which is about when Ferris interjected to helpfully support Ryner's claim in her own way. ]

He speaks the truth. He may look stupid, lazy, unmotivated and useless but he is capable of holding his own surprisingly well.

[ ... you're welcome. That being said, Ferris reached forward to take the key since Ryner was still carrying the dango boxes, absently toying with it as the Innkeeper processed the strange ..support from the other girl. That's... love? ]

Ah... yes. well... if you say so then.. I must certainly take your word for it, both of you.. [ Eheh. Strange, STRANGE pair. She smiled to Ryner again. ]

Well if there's anything that I can do to help the two of you get settled in, don't be afraid to let me know.

You could have stopped after the Truth you know.

[Ryner grumbled mutinously. But still followed Ferris as she went. Strange pair is an understatement.]

We will. Thank you again.

[He's clearly the responsible person in the pair. Even if he seems subservient at the moment.]

I simply pointed out the facts.

[ Tempting as it would be to make him open the door too, she didn't want to risk him dropping the dango boxes. So she unlocked the door to the room, stepped inside and... and there's only one bed. ]

Facts that aren't true aren't facts.

[He'll be thankful for that much. Ryner walks in and looks around for the first adequate surface to put the boxes on top of. Bed? He'll notice that as soon as he turns around.]

[ There's a nice little table normally reserved for eating dinner at to the right of the door, how lucky! Ferris, on the other hand, doesn't address that, because she's more concerned with the fact that THERE is ONE BED. ]

... Hnn. One bed.

[ She sauntered over to it, pokepoking the mattress, and then pivoted, drawing her sword in the same movement. ]

Oi, Ryner. If I catch you within a foot of this bed while I'm in it, facts will be the least of your worries.

[ She'd draw a line on the floor, but the sword is probably warning enough. ]

[Huzzah for convenience! He sets the boxes down and actually reaches for the one he received when Ferris reveals the bed situation.]

[He eyes the blonde beauty with a mix of indifference and wariness.]

I wouldn't. That one time I wasn't even the one to put us together in bed if you remember!

[Honestly his dad had made things so unnecessarily complicated.]

[ Yes, yes he did. Ferris, meanwhile, sat on the bed with her arms folded, staring back at Ryner. She is so on to him and his shenanigans. Just one foot out of line. One TOENAIL. And she'll be on him like a sabertooth tiger on a piece of meat! Reminder of when she woke up next to him in the bed had her glance away quickly. Ahem. ]

As you have claimed before.

[ She probably believes it, but it's more fun to give him a hard time. ]

More importantly. You plan to visit the library?

[Oh he sees her look away but doesn't quite grasp the meaning before she just shrugs off his confession.]

Because it's the truth!

[He lets out a series of grumbling as he munches up one of the Dangos. He swallows before answering.]

Might as well. The sooner we figure out this place the better. It'll be like when we met Toale in Nelpha.

[ She glanced back towards him, shaking her head. ]

The words of a legendary pervert cannot be trusted. Especially with such dishonest eyes as yours.

[ She stood, if only to collect one of the boxes of dango and retreat to the bed. She went a whole five minutes without eating a dango - she was going through withdrawal. ]

However I will accompany you to the library. [ Someone has to keep him in line! (And that's the only reason. Sure.) ]

It does seem quite similar to that place. I only hope the same misfortunes do not befall this one. We know little about it's rulers. [ You'll be researching that on your own too. ]

Dishonest? When have I ever been dishonest with you?!

[Pranks and lying to keep her safe don't count.]

Oh? You gonna try and find another pervy old man to let us in the forbidden section?

[Another memory from Nelpha. Which once again will likely earn him pain and threats but hey.]

[ She disagrees on that last point, buddy boy. She opens her box of dango, taking out one to take a bite, pausing only at his words, as if considering them. NOPE gonna dismiss those out of hand too. Actually when one thinks about it, any pranks from Ferris would be violent to the point of death for a normal person. ]

...

[ She doesn't answer his jibe, plucking the contents of the box out with one hand until she fanned the dango sticks in one hand. She stared, mesmerized with the glorious container of the godly treat, superior to ambrosia, nectar of life and even water for a man greatly dehydrated who'd been traveling for miles in a scorching hot desert. ]

[ She neatly closed the box with her free hand, chewing on a dango and thorougly lost in thought. Perhaps he'll get away without any harm at all this time! ..

... nope, she just winged the box at his head like a freaking cardboard shuriken. ]

[ SO RUDE. ]

Woah!

[He quickly ducks for cover behind the table which in turn means that the box hits the tower of Dangos.]

Oh no you don't!

[He quickly gets up and holds the tower up before letting out a breath.]

Watch where you throw that thing!

[ Wow, nice save! Ferris had tensed only for a second when the tower of dangos wobbled, and then relaxed again. ]

I did watch. If you had stayed put, our tower would not have been threatened.

[ Logic! ]

Nooo. If I'd stayed put I would have gone flying INTO the tower behind me to begin with.

[He growls before letting out a sigh.]

[ Ferris looked thoughtful, and nodded slowly, completely and utterly unapologetic. ]

Yes, you probably would have. And you would have made quite a racket and mess as well. You should be more considerate of people in the other rooms, Ryner.

[ Because no way is it her fault. See, she's smiling. Sorta. Kinda. Maybe... if you squint and tilt your head a little.. ]

I should be more- I'M NOT THE ONE TOSSING BOXES AS LETHAL WEAPONS!!!
