[Open/Teleportation Event] Another Day In Chireiden

WHO: Satori and YOU
WHAT: Teleportation event
WHERE: Chireiden
WHEN: First day of the event
WARNINGS: Much grump, being stared at, bothersome raccoons

A calm wind blew between the great spires of the Palace of Earth Spirits this morning. Satori's veritable legion of pets - at least the ones that slept at night - awakened from their slumber each in their own way. The birds and other winged beasts raced around the building, either alone or in small flocks. Cats, both large and small, awoke from their languid rest, stretching and wandering off to hide in the warmer places of the mansion. Even the more unusual beasts, such as lizards and snakes began to move. Her home was rife with the noise of many animals at once, and it was music to her ears. If it wasn't so loud, at first.

Satori roused herself, finding her hair to be quite a mess this morning from an inquisitive kasha kitten trying to curl up between her head and the pillow. Still in her nightclothes, the drowsy youkai wandered out to find an outfit and freshen up, making sure she was well enough ready. A warm bath served to wake her from her grumpy morning blues, if only slightly.

While getting rid of most of her stress from last night, this had only made her a little more sleepy. And the pets could not be kept waiting for long, especially not for the lazy hour she'd spent in there. It's almost breakfast time, for her as well as the pets. And Koishi, too, if she was still around...and not wandering elsewhere.

As the diurnal animals roamed freely within the sumptuous home of Fayren's Guardian, a long line had formed near the kitchen. Satori, now dressed and fully relaxed, wordlessly let the small crowd of pets know that their meals, yes, were coming after all. She felt their collective excitement and frustration. And certainly it got a bit more annoying when Scribbles, that troublesome little racoon, tried to climb up her legs and outright BEG for sustenance with eyes as wide as saucers. She almost felt like feeding him, first. "...Just a little longer, all of you. I hadn't meant to keep you waiting."

The smell of a warm breakfast was in the air. Such a day was one of millions or more in the mind-reading youkai's lifetime. Peaceful, blissful days where absolutely nothing ill might come to pass. Satori had cooked enough for an army within the space of the next couple hours, especially since she had hundreds of other mouths to feed, all with varying diets of carnivore and herbivore. But even this wasn't a chore for her, simply the day-to-day business.

Satori knew very well the other side of the coin, of course. That peace, just like in Gensokyo, wasn't to last. Pushing the thoughts from her mind, the satori youkai knew all too well that this, too, was another one of those days.

There is at least a good moment that the witch admires the area before she starts climbing. Someone is just being too stubborn to fly without her broom as she can't be as fast without it. There is a bit of relaxation running through Marisa at the sight of Chireiden, as at least she had some idea of where she was..

That stalk does get a strange look and her hand inching towards a inner pocket of the skirt. But she'll stay put on the top of the dune she is on for now. If anything, higher ground mean a faster take off and more room to charge up and fire if things went south rather quickly.

Each sent ripples of light through the dunes as Marisa climbed. Anything looking for that light would know exactly where she was every time she moved... which might be a problem if the rumors about lingering monsters were true.

Chireiden was very far away. It would be best to fly there. Climbing over all the dunes would take a lot of time.

The stalk didn't move but the dune itself shimmered very faintly. Perhaps something just under the sand had moved? Either way it was a bit unsettling. On top of that, from Marisa's vantage point, she could see other faint shimmers in other areas of the dunes, though it was impossible to truly gauge the layout of the land without light. Of course, a lot of light would also mean that whatever was moving under the dunes would no longer be visible...

It'll be more then enough to convince the witch to at least start hovering above the due she was on and going towards the friendly sight. Her eyes never leave the dunes, curiosity and apprehension.

Those dunes were still pretty..although the danger of what could be under it and causing the lights did strike a bit of fear...that was promptly ran over and hidden because this is Marisa.

A nearby dune shimmered quite brightly, ripples traveling outward, highlighting the shape of something spindly with far too many legs. It paused once on top of a dune and burrowed once more, leaving the sand looking nearly undisturbed.

Yes. It would probably be best to float. For now at least. Perhaps in the future the area could be further explored.

nothing else really moved beyond that. The occasional little ripple. Nothing more.

Chireiden, fortunately, wasn't that far away. At least it wasn't that far with Marisa flying like this. Without stopping she'd probably arrive in less than 30 minutes.
