genpcs_a: Much bullshit indeed (Imelda)

Let's Climb Ship Mountain!

Last week, concerns were expressed in the local newspaper that the weather might be too wet and gloomy for a charm quest. But those concerns were way off.

It was too wet and hellishly windy. Hopefully everyone dressed warm!

At the foot of the mountain, Imelda's tent looked like it was going to be blown away at any moment. The tethers that held it down creaked ominously, and the tent itself leaned hard with the howling winds that whipped at the cheap canvas and gaudy trappings. Even Imelda was starting to get a headache with her little bells and chimes clanging noisily non-stop. But a job was a job, and the fortune teller had to at least look like she'd expected this.

She hadn't, but that was beside the point.

Imelda huddled in front of her crystal ball, her wide shoulders buried in silks and furs. A portable heater was fastened under her table to keep her slipper-clad feet warm as she waited for the participants to approach. Ten men, ten women. It was almost like fate! Except one of the men was technically a robot, but he had 'Man' as part of his name, so it totally counts.

"Come come, children, hurry in! One person at a time! --No, not you ladies, stay out there." Bitch. "Come, and I will tell you the name of your soulmate who will guide you unharmed to the top of the mountain!" Or just whoever she decided to secretly ship that person with.

[OOC: Two threads below! One is for getting your partner assigned, one is for actually scaling the mountain. Each pair starts at a different point, and will be warped there after consulting with Imelda. Unless I really am psychic, no one is matched with their soulmate. Imelda sucks. But you have an opportunity to get a charm if you either A. Find your true ship which will result in a clear path and no monsters at all, or B. Fight to the top, defeat all the monsters, and kiss your partner like whoa. Some of you may get a boss fight if you say you're okay with one, but it's not guaranteed. Players can otherwise NPC the monsters and obstacles they face. Those who succeed each get an Everglade charm. Only those who signed up for the quest are allowed to participate, but anyone is welcome to show up and cheer/jeer on their favorite "couples". Those who would rather stay at home and watch the events on TV may do so, as it will be televised.]

"Eh Senketsu? You're awake?" She thought you were resting buddy.

His suggestion is a pretty good one though and Ryuko immediately complies, hugging herself beneath the fabric of Senketsu's body. It helps a little but every time the wind blows a fresh set of goosebumps covers her skin.

"I don't get why we can't just go up there ourselves. At this rate we'll freeze to death out here."

Or she will anyway; Ryuko doesn't even know if Senketsu is being affected by the weather..

"I am" Plain and simple response, he's the best at those. How can he sleep when his bed is covered in goosebumps? It's incredibly uncomfortable.

"If the mountain is a treacherous as she claims, we may need assistance getting to the top." He wasn't doubting their capabilities, but an extra hand may not be a bad thing. It's not like he had any in the first place.

Hey no complaining, you've still got the softest pillows around.

Ryuko scoffs at the notion that they need anyone else to get up there. They could fly up if they wanted! Ryuko becomes quiet at a seemingly sudden realization.

"Hey Senketsu...what's the last thing you remember before we woke up here?"

She never did ask him, she just assumes he remembers what she does. If Gamagoori's memories are different there's a chance that Senketsu's are as well.

This is true, he has no complaints about those pillows. He's fairly sure they could handle this on their own as well, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

"We were about to do battle with Sanageyama. Do you not recall?"

"No I do, I remember him getting his naked ass kicked kicked off the arena. It's just... never mind, it's probably not important."

She isn't sure what to make of Sanegayama and Gamagoori's memories; could this place be messing with their minds? What if Senketsu loses his memory again because she doesn't know for certain? Well as long as they're on the same page that's enough for now... isn't it?

"Ryuko, your blood tastes off. If there's something on your mind, just say it." He'd rather she get what ever's off her chest (Besides himself) off now so that it doesn't hinder their performance later. That and she has him concerned now.

Dammit! Can't get anything passed him. Ryuko considers how to respond, ultimately deciding that the truth is the only option. She takes a deep breath but keeps her eyes downcast.

"When I spoke to Gamagoori it seemed like he didn't remember our fight. And I can't remember how we ended up here and as far as I know this damn place that just grabs people."

She grinds her teeth, obviously frustrated, before continuing.

"Point is, if I can't remember how we got here and Satsuki's lackey doesn't remember, then there's a chance that someone in this place can mess with our heads. Make us forget things."

Not that Senketsu has a head but you see where she's going with this.

That's what happens when he can tell how someone feels by the taste of their blood. The idea of them losing their memories is a touch troubling, but he doesn't particularly have much else to lose right now, except for Ryuko.

"Hrmm... We don't know enough about this place to confirm or deny whether there is a person like that around here, or how this place decides to bring people in.

Once we're done here, perhaps we could start to search for answers? Just guessing at what's going on around here wont get us anywhere."
