07 BRAINS ; VIDEO
My extended trip to the Dream Docks is over. Considering it took me two hours to make it home after I ended up in a Nova City parking lot and some back alley in Everglade, I'm guessing something fun happened while I was gone.
I'm still not convinced I'm in the right apartment either considering my new roommate's decision to make his next start up an interior design firm with my entire apartment being his first experiment. Another 20 minutes just to find my blender that I'll never get back in life. [ At least that cayenne-chocolate milkshake with a sliced red pepper along the edge of the glass looks good. Worth it? Maybe. It's definitely making her feel better. ] I don't think anyone ever taught him about personal boundaries.
[ Liv takes a sip of the drink, which is already half gone. A week is a long time not to eat properly. ]
To those who saw me toward the beginning of the month: I decided the look just wasn't me anymore. I'm-
[ Is Liv just staring off into space for a moment? Yes she is. Oops. Liv's breath comes out like she'd been holding it, then she shakes her head. ]
Wow. I haven't had brain freeze since I was 14. [ A little smile pulls to her lips. ]
Anyone want to fill me in on what I missed? Or potentially have plans I can horn in on tonight? My schedule's relatively clear for the next couple days since I wasn't sure how long I'd need to take off from work for this.

Our ages were tampered. Some became younger, some older, none wiser. The most immature advent in our history, I'm pretty sure.
The mayor of Everglade enacted a new law allowing any monster freedom from law once the day turned dark enough. Somehow that's been allowed to stand indeterminately.
Portals spread themselves far and wide as the stars, and such mischievous portals at that. As though they were calculated to drop any who entered into the most calculatedly awkward positions possible. Apparently it's because some piece holding up this strange world split into three.
One such piece is held by a monster loathe to forsake it. A band of adventurers-turned-trade negotiations has been dispatched to change its mind. I hope it's going well.
Another affair for the second was carried out, though straightforward violence was the order of the day. There were many casualties, though victory was won, thankfully.
Today the king's palace is open for the last piece, and an accompanying ritual cleansing. I'll let you know how that goes, if you like.

[ She's not really sure what a ritual cleansing would do to someone who wasn't, well, alive, or she'd volunteer to help. If it were her world she would be a lot less wary considering it was just a disease there, but with all the actual magic here? She's not ready to risk it. ]
I wouldn't say all non-humans are monsters, but I'm a little surprised no one's aimed for a hostile takeover of the government yet. The whole portal thing sounds more like a pain in the ass than a serious problem though.

Heh, I'm not. Everglade's the hottest potato of all; by now I think everyone's content to leave it to its own devices.
Yes, posterior-first does seem to be their favored position. More comic that way.

[ She would know. Not just because she doesn't have much of a choice- she's got other people she supplies too. But it's not exactly something people are willing to hip-hip-hooray about, so it's only people Liv has elected to trust. ]
You think someone did this on purpose?

[She's really happy that her friend is alright.]
I'm actually very free too since I just work at the bookshop now. [Somehow she has several employees which just means she's been spending more time reading.]
As for things that have been happening. It all started with an earthquake. It remembers me a little bit of the last time there was a hole in the sky. The teleporting has just been for a few days now.
[She really hopes it stops soon.]

[Levy remembers that all too well.]
Maybe we can do something more this time?

I can help if anyone gets hurt, but that's about it.

Certainly. The sky fell.

[ Is she joking? It's hard to tell. ] Or you're just going for the most poetic way you could think of to say that. In which case, congrats on the most cryptic description.
