ACTION; at the dream docks
[ The first thing Weiss had done when she woke up, after just sitting for a moment, had been to check her phone. Mayu's text was the first thing that she saw about Torchwick, so that was an issue she had to address as soon as she could. A look back at what she'd missed made it clear that he was going after Ruby and Weiss wouldn't let that happen. She needed to go home and see everyone. Now. She needed to make sure that when she walked in, she'd still be able to see the faces of those they'd lost.

Then.. then she'd figure it out. Weiss didn't have the luxury of sitting home crying, not here. She had work to do. She had to find some way to fix this. Aaand she also needed to make sure that the City Guardian's office hadn't gone to shambles because she left it in the hands of her Deputies who had just met that day. She couldn't mourn. She'd have enough time to do that alone, at home, back in Atlas.

Here she just had to find the people she cared about and protect them. If that meant coming down on crime a hundred times harder than normal, then so be it. Weiss too a deep breath, not checking if Sun and Jaune were awake yet, and turned her device to post. ]

As of this moment, Roman Torchwick is considered a wanted fugitive. I'll offer level 5 payment as a bounty, direct from the City Guardian office. I would encourage other City Guardians to list him as a high-profile criminal as well. Torchwick's list of crimes includes murder, theft, kidnapping, torture, evading the law and that's just from his previous experience in Genessia. Back home he's done much, much worse.

If you do not have experience fighting, do not approach him. Keep in mind that to keep him alive, you'll need to break his aura but not go beyond that except to disable him. I don't care what state you bring him in provided that he's alive and secure. No one's getting paid for killing him because killing him still means he's free. Anyone found aiding, abetting, harboring, or hiding information about Roman Torchwick is considered a criminal and will be dealt with appropriately.

[ Once Weiss had left the Dream Docks, she went home to change clothes and check everyone's rooms. Chances were, those who didn't know what was going on would've just been going about their lives normally, maybe at work or off doing whatever errands, but she still just wanted to see if anyone was home. She wanted to see anyone. She wasn't even bothering with privacy, instead just peeking her heads into doors as she knocked. ]

[ Weiss's expectation of seeing Ruby here was basically none, but when she saw her, her face lit up and she came over. She almost asked what happened, but Ruby's words caught up to her. ]

No. [ She says it, plain and simple, stubborn. But after a moment, she offers an explanation. ]

I'm a City Guardian here, Ruby. He may have declared he's after you, but you're not the only one he's going to hurt along the way. I can't let him do that whether you have a beef with him or not.

Believe me, I know what he's capable of. ...That's why I think it would be best if I confronted him directly.

[She fidgets, not meeting Weiss' gaze.]

If I make myself a visible target, he's going to come after me and me alone.

I know you know, Ruby. You can go after him if you want, it's an open bounty, but frankly? Last time I sent you off alone you ended up in a coma. If you want to go off fighting alone after everything we've just been through, you're stupider than I thought. Leaving him to you alone would be irresponsible of me as a City Guardian, and frankly? He tortured me for 11 days last time he was here before the past you even found me. I'm not rescinding the bounty just because you want to make it personal. Because it's not personal solely to you.

[Ruby just stands there awkwardly. She knows Weiss is right, but... that doesn't make it any easier. Ruby is supposed to be the leader, but... she hasn't been able to lead anyone to safety.]

I just... felt like maybe I could... protect someone for a change.

[Still, at least she knows Weiss knows.]

...I couldn't protect Penny or Pyrrha...

[She shakes her head, wiping at her eyes a bit, voice still shaky but she's trying to keep it all together.]

...you're right though... I won't... go after him alone.

[ Weiss reaches out to give Ruby's hand a brief squeeze, looking directly in her eyes. ]

I don't care if our team is broken up back home. We're still here for each other. Also? If anyone else tries to blame themselves or anyone other than the criminals who did this for what happened again, I'm going to get very cranky.

[Ruby opens her mouth to say something several times but nothing ever seems to make it past her throat. Instead she's just going to pull Weiss into a hug. Not quite as bone crushing as the ones Yang offers but she's going to hang on for dear life for a long moment before finally managing a whisper.]

...Thanks Weiss... for everything. For being the best teammate I could possibly have.

[ Weiss hugs her back briefly, if only because she knows she needs it, but it only lasts a couple of seconds before. ]

Okay, we're done. Let go.

[ Yeah, Weiss isn't letting go. Give her a few seconds. ]

[Ruby knows better than to let go immediately. She'll just give Weiss an extra bit of a squeeze before releasing her and stepping back a bit.]

Just... one thing. Don't tell Yang about.. everything. She's going to find out eventually, and she'd do better hearing it from me.

I won't. I.. you know she's going to want to go to the Dream Docks immediately. I'll try to persuade her to at least wait.

Thanks. Just the way everything affected her back home... Blake just leaving I think hurt her more than losing the arm. I'm not... looking forward to that conversation but maybe I can at least keep her from directly experiencing that sort of pain.

She has a right to know, just make sure you talk to her and prepare her for what's going to happen.

Yeah, it's just... more on me than her. Kind of hard to get the image of what all that did to her out of my head.

According to David, he doesn't have any reports of people losing limbs in the Dream Docks. Even if she's not okay back home, it might be better here.

I'm not... too worried about her arm, to be honest. [She's had a month to think about this.] I mean... if Atlas can make Penny, a robo-arm she could use isn't too far fetched.

...She was just... so depressed, especially after Blake left.

[She sighs, debating just how much t tell Weiss about Raven... It really is Yang's story.]

Ruby, I know that prosthetic weapons exist. I'm not an idiot. But if you're assuming just because they exist that someone wouldn't be drastically affected by losing their arm, especially someone like Yang whose entire fighting style uses her fists, then you're deluded. Yes, Blake has a big effect on it, but the time between Yang finding me and Blake showing up with her unconscious? It probably happened in an instant. Just because it's "not a big deal" to you because it's replaceable doesn't mean that it's not a big deal to her. Blake's run away before, that's nothing new- all we need to do is find her and knock some sense into her and then eventually they'll make up. So yeah, it's just as simple as the arm thing. Neither of them are something you should just dismiss because there's a quick solution to the physical problem.

I'm not dismissing it. At all. I watched as Yang just... sat in bed for a month after everything. She wouldn't talk about anything that happened, but she lost her arm trying to protect Blake, and Blake just ran. That hurt her more than losing her arm.

Yes, losing her arm is a big deal, but I know Yang. She wouldn't let that stop her. But she isn't... she isn't the same.

[She sighs, looking down.] This isn't the first time someone close to her just abandoned her... and I'm not saying that's what Blake did, just that's how she saw it.

Blake probably has her reasons, Ruby. They're more than likely entirely stupid and I'm going to yell at her for them, but once we find her and get she and Yang talking again, they'll make up.

Yeah, I'm just... worried that getting them in the same room isn't going to be as easy as it should.
