GSRF Official Report: Dream Docks

Those of you who know me know I took a trip to the Dream Docks a little under a month ago. Most of you didn't know that it wasn't just for fun. City Guardian David Haller and Levy McGarden assisted me in determining how the Dream Docks work. Using a telepathic link established by David Haller, we learned the following:

1. No one physically leaves the Dream Docks. You don't actually "go home" at any point during the process.

2. Your mind is not directly connected to another person during the process.

3. Memories appear to be added to your mind through whatever the Dream Docks process is, even if it feels like you have actually gone back and lived your life during this time.

Duplicating this test would be difficult unless anyone else is willing to let one of the telepathic people here in on every little detail of their life, so re-confirmation of these results isn't easy. Sample size is 1 (me) so there's a chance it could be different for other people, but we don't have enough data to say either way. I still wanted to share what we do know.

It's sort of like being on a bed. You go to sleep, they put some kind of helmet on. Boom, week-long coma.

Can I ask... what is the dream docks exactly? I mean... I know someone here who I don't remember so I thought to see but... can we control how much we see? How does it decided? What if we grow or get scars? Do they just appear? What if I got my tousles removed or I come back part way through something like that and it's like they're half in and half out...

It's ap lace where you take a long nap and you "remember" more of your life- except now we know it's more like they're being written into your brain for the first time and who knows where the memories actually come from. You don't get to pick how much and I haven't heard of anyone getting a scar yet, so I'm not sure about that.

Sup. If you're not synced up to another person are you just synced up to an alternate version of you in another timeline? Would that leave a trace since it's still you technically? Or you probably thought to look into that one already, right? That would be covered in "not linked to anyone." Probably a hella dumb question from a newbie. Original Flavor Genessia David being like who the fuck is this other Dave questioning my ability to find traces of alternate selves...

I'm guessing that makes you Dave. You can be Dave, he'll be David so we don't have to get numbers involved.

David said there was no kind of mental link, but that could be if maybe there's an indirect sort of download-upload memory situation. I'm not saying you're wrong or right. There's other contextual information too though, like the fact that we all can age-test with results consistent with a 0-10 year old. That one we had a larger sample size for.
