1st Concert - action & video

[ Waking up groggy is not out of the norm for Kohaku. He may be under a lot of tension by day, but he's never quite been a morning person. No, the exhaustion isn't what is out of order this time. It is the unusual amount of clarity, the complete absence of pain in his head. Kohaku remembers a time in which feeling like this was normal, but after years of constant ever-changing aching, it feels as though there is a hole in his head. Contrary to his lofty expectations, he doesn't feel safe in the slightest. His hand automatically reaches for his gun and only as his finger is safely on the trigger, he starts looking around the cave. Unfamiliar. And he's alone. ]

[ After spending a very disgruntled hour working his way through pamphlets to understand the premise of information that was presented to him (and he isn't sure he believes any of it, but he knows what they want him to believe now), Kohaku has finally made it to the streets of Genessia.

As expected of someone wearing comparatively old-fashioned clothes, he looks quite skeptical of the modern architecture and technology. Though cars don't seem to phase him. The violin-case he carries on his back clearly identifies Kohaku as a musician, but the gun that he still wields in his hand may be of greater interest to passers-by. He's not threatening anybody directly, but he seems ready to shoot if he has to. ]

[ There were only so much information gained by rooming the streets, so come evening, Kohaku is ready to seek knowledge through other ways. He's found himself sitting in the park, chewing on a piece of bread as he figures out how to access the 'network' from this foreign device he's been given. When the video switches on he hurriedly swallows his bite to start talking. ]

[ He pauses, seeming contemplative. The last bit is added with a bit less severity in his voice. ]

[ Guignols are those puppet shows right?? She's pretty sure. ]

But I can confirm Genessia Hospital has had zero issue with anything called Galatea Syndrome.

[ There is a short moment of silence as Kohaku lets the confirmation of his suspicions sink in. No guignols. The knowledge is far from being as satisfying as it should be within his own world. ]

Aside from the whole kidnapped from your homeworlds thing, you guys are lucky bastards.

[ He'll think about Fayren and puppets later, NO VIRUS is too mindboggling right now. ]

What kind of symptoms were there?

[ It might be under a different name, so it couldn't hurt to check. ]

Real lucky. I'm Olivia Moore- I'm a doctor at Genessia hospital.

[ He gives a short nod at the introduction. Explaining the syndrome to someone who has never dealt with it is weird, but in his own way he also thinks 'couldn't hurt to check'. ]

It's gross. Your limbs go harder and stiffer, your mind gets fucked up irreversibly and next thing you know all you want to do is rip humans apart and eat. Turns people into disgusting flesh-eating dolls.

[ And an afterthought because he almost forgot but a doc might care: ] It's transmitted with body fluids.

[ Well, that sounds... sickeningly familiar. Which is a secret, since she doesn't want the whole world knowing she's a zombie. The harder and stiffer doll bit is a little different, but otherwise.. ]

Like physical dolls or metaphorical dolls?

[ An exaggerated shrug. ]

Does it make a difference? They look almost the same, 'cept one is ragged and wants to bite.

They sound like zombies. People who somehow exchanged bodily fluids with one of the undead and became one themselves. Once they do, they can lose who they are and just become mindless, human-eating monsters. The only part that sounds different is the doll part.

[ She pauses. ] They're fiction in most peoples' worlds. Even if they weren't, nobody has a cure.

[ There is a 100% chance that Liv is hoping he'll say that there is some way to cure the ones from his world. even if it's a different thing, it's a chance, and that's better than what she has here now. ]

[ She scoffs. ]

I don't rule it. I'm the CEO of the welcoming centers and the City Guardian of Nova City. I protect the people here, whether they're dunces or not.

[ She has no problem implying Kohaku's a dunce. ]

[Crystal rarely travels away from Nova City. Her work is there and she enjoys the futuristic setting over Genessia. However, she'd been visiting an acquaintance and is making her way home when she spots the boy with the gun.

She pauses and looks over at him, hearing the words that escape his lips.]

I believe it's called Genessia but I don't that that's the answer to the question you're really asking.

[She doesn't seem at all bothered by his gun.]

Do musician's often carry guns where you're from?

[ Kohaku eyes her suspiciously for a moment, but she really does not look any more or less human than anyone else in this place and being overtly suspicious is going to be pointless. If there is danger, he can raise his weapon again. ]

If they're sane, yeah. They'd do better to be armed.

[ Though music itself can be a vital weapon of self-defense in his world. ]

[Crystals bright blue eyes shine curiously.]

What sort of harm are you protecting yourself from or are you just inviting it by holding up a gun? Personally. [She smiles at him.] I prefer music.

[Music, in her world, has power but not the same sort as his. It's far more subtle and only influences those who listen.]

[ If he were asked to choose between gun violence and music, then his answer would doubtlessly land on music as well, so he can't disagree with her taste there. ]

Trouble's gonna come my direction whether or not I have this - so I'd prefer to shoot it.

This cozy little world doesn't seem to have seen man-eating living dead though, tch.

I haven't seen any, no.

[Crystal would have more than a few problems if there were man-eating living dead. Her skills don't transfer to that sort of situation.]

[She's more interest in the music.]

[ He'll gladly shoot any zombies, but he'll skip over commenting further on that. For now the gun finally, finally goes into its holster instead of just being lowered. ]

Let's start with because I just fucking arrived in an unfamiliar world altogether and you haven't even told me your name yet.

[ And neither has he introduced himself, but what's a little hypocrisy here and there. ]

I haven't heard of Guignol's or Galatea Syndrome.

[She replies with a thoughtful tone.]

Nor have I see the Royal Orchestra around but I'll keep a look out in case I do. [He'll probably know first so Levy isn't all that worried about that fact.]

I can't say for sure when it comes to the elections. They are happening now so there is a chance for you to see. It isn't so bad since they are people that most agree will do a good job.

[ No orchestra, huh...? At some point that might have made him happy, but nowadays he's just mad that he is the only one of them who has to deal with this bullshit. They should have been in this together, like always, at least. ]

What's a 'good job' around here? In my world, we've been reigned by a Queen for ages and nobody actually thinks she does a very good job.

[ So he does not have a lot of different governments to compare in his head, just some ideas of what 'better' might mean. ]

Genessia is relatively quiet. David has established the home for children and a few other places to help keep the city running smoothly. Feyren and Everglade is having trouble but the Guardians are working to keep people safe. I know less about what's happening in Nova City.

[ Being here has been surreal since waking up and that feeling is only getting worse with every passing minute. Time to focus on something that sounds relatively sensible. Danger. ]

Safe from what? The threats from my world are obviously not around here, so what else is there?

It depends. There are people lobbying against cyborgs in Nova City. Fayren has the Hands of Decay who want to kill all mages and those related. Finally Everglade, there is a curfew. When the sun goes down monsters come out.

[It doesn't sound safe when she says it all like that but Levy thinks that people should know.]

Monsters wouldn't happen to be man-eating undead? [ He shakes his head after he asks. ] I doubt those give a damn if it's day or night.

But it seems like everyone still has their types of being they want to get rid of either way.
