Who:Blake and Yang, Blake and whoever comes to visit her in the hospital.
What:Aftermath of Murder Plot, be warned.
When: Evening
Where: Fayren, in the place that Yang finds her wandering, half lucid and trying to find Weiss and later in the Hospital.
Warnings: Murder plot related, Blake took a beating. She is NOT pretty to look at right now.
Afterword:
Blake coughed and gasped coming back into consciousness. As soon as he did a hundred pin pricks of fire shot through her lips and she whimpered. The tag in her right ear throbbed but it was nothing compared to the bloody, deep gash that was still oozing blood where Battler had branded her. It was amazing she had ever regained consciousness at all.
And then slowly, things started to come flooding back. Her eyes widened, but her pupils were dilated with panic as well as agony now. "WEI - ACK!"
She couldn't complete her teammate's name. Could not talk at all really. Suddenly she leaned over and heaved. All of the blood she had swallowed was not agreeing with her. And no matter how much it hurt she couldn't stop herself from throwing up. She wondered distantly if she was going to die before she swooned, putting her head between her legs as she crouched there, the picture of an abused, dirty animal.
She gasped, each breath she drew hurting more than the last.
Weiss, where are you?
She could not lay down and die here. She forced herself to stand, using her good arm to lean against the wall of the alley way she was in for support. Where was her device? She'd get a message to Yang, Ruby...someone and tell them that Battler was a sick bastard and they had to find Weiss before it was too late. She didn't know why he had let her go, but she'd worry about details later.
When she found it she tried to type but her hands were trembling so bad that all she got was:
Text:
Baattt;er crazy. He's sIck. Attacked us. Weiss. Hurt bad. Ffffffing Weiss!
Hospital:
The ear tag had been removed. A simple puncture wound that was healing well. Thanks to a combination of modern medicine and her aura recovering the swelling around her mouth was looking better, though she might be left with a thin white scar or two. But what had kept Blake in surgery the longest was her arm. Battler had burned her thoroughly. Tissue was badly damaged and there would definitely be a terrible scar from that.
She tossed, fading in and out.

Re: Hospital Thread
"You got your arm..." she whispered.
Then it her that she had not even been there for it. She had somehow managed to still, after all her training and being careful make Yang have to come to her rescue.
"I'm sorry,"Blake croaked, tears starting to fall.
Re: Hospital Thread
"Yeah...I have an arm again...and don't cry. I-it's not your fault." Tears sprung to the blonde's own red eyes as she clutched at Blake lightly, trying not to aggravate any wounds even as she tried to nuzzle against the injured girl.
"I...I should be the one apologizing...for...for letting you have this happen to you."
Re: Hospital Thread
"No, it's that...that vile monster that did this!" Suddenly she went still, looking frantic. "Where's Weiss?! Did they catch him?"
She was seriously going to rip the IV out and hunt the bastard herself if he was still out there on the loose.
Re: Hospital Thread
Sitting back once Blake settled, the blonde ran a hand through her hair, blinking blearily through her bloodshot eyes. "No...I-I don't know...where Weiss is. I haven't heard anything about him being caught...but there were several other people brought...brought into the hospital."
Though that didn't mean much when who knows how many other people were still out there, or were dead.
Re: Hospital Thread
"Other people?" the faunus echoed, her color draining a little at the possibilities. "Wher are the others? Where's my scroll?"
She was immediately frantic to make sure everyone was all right. The scroll, the device, whatever was nearby, she needed a way to make sure.
Re: Hospital Thread
"Yeah...other people...You and...you and Weiss weren't the only ones. Most are in the hospital now...I don't...know what happened to anyone else."
Blake's scroll was off to the side, on the counter. tracker still beeping out to Yang its position even as the blonde tried to resist clutching Blake again.
"Please...don't...don't rush off." It was...hard for Yang to not try and pin Blake down just in paranoia, the girl's red eyes looking to make sure the windows were closed.
Re: Hospital Thread
But she caught sight of Yang's reaction. It wasn't so much that she knew that Yang would not be letting her go anywhere, but seeing her reaction. She slumped back onto the pillow, trying not to let stubborn tears build up. It wasn't fair that Yang was having to deal with this. But she hated doing nothing.
Doing nothing meant she had to sit here and think about how useless she was, how there might be someone out their right now suffering like she had, the idea that he as getting away with it and that once again she was making trouble for everyone by being involved in something horrific. She tied to stop herself from panicking for Yang. And also because if another nurse or aid came in and tried to give her a sedative, she was going to knock them out with her uninjured arm.
"Fine," she crabbed, finally. "I won't go and hunt Battler down and shove gambool shroud through his face because I can't in this state. But I don't want to stay here either."
Re: Hospital Thread
"I want to shove Ember Celica into his face too you know. But I doubt even at full strength we could do that if he managed to get the drop on several people."
Running her metal hand through her hair, Yang hmmed softly as she looked at her partner on the bed. "You're staying. At least for the night. "she was quick to add, "If only so the doctors can make sure you're properly bandaged and so you won't get any infections. Tomorrow I'll see about getting you out of here."
Re: Hospital Thread
He ears drooped slightly. She also wanted to go home and sleep in a familiar place. If staying away from home was helping Weiss cope, then Blake was having the opposite experience. She didn't want to close her eyes and hear Battler laughing at her or see those red eyes in her dreams. But maybe at home, with familiar things, familiar smells, she could feel a little bit safe even if the reality was that no one was ever safe. She balled her fists, flinching a little when the motion tightened her still-healing arm. And tried not to start shaking. It was easier to be angry and stubborn than to start feeling other things. But she didn't want to tell Yang that she didn't want to sleep here. It might reveal that this had gotten to Blake worse than she was letting on.
"I'm fine," she insisted, hoping if she said it enough she'd believe it.
Re: Hospital Thread
It really wasn't the time for poor jokes.
Yang sighed as she watched the faunus' ears droop, so easy to tell her mood in that motion. Rubbing her face with her hand, the blonde went to peer down the halls, looking for any possible incoming nurses.
"Alright...We'll go home. But if you start acting up, or something starts happening I'm draggin you back here, okay?"
Yang doesn't like being in hospitals either. And being confined never was fun. "If you're good I'll go buy you some tuna to eat too."
Re: Hospital Thread
She blinked, having not expected for her girlfriend to give in. She was glad though because another night of dreams and poor sleep in here and she would be breaking out no matter what anyone said. She nodded in agreement but pulled a face at the last statement.
"If I'm good?" she repeated. "I'm not five!" She pushed the covers off of her making sure to take it slow so that she wouldn't wince too much from her healing injuries. ".........are we really going to eat tuna?"
Re: Hospital Thread
"Well you know...you seem to be always wanting to not be resting. I thought I was the energetic type of the two of us." Not of the team though, that always goes to Ruby.
"If you want tuna, I can probably get you some. Now come on, we'll need to go on a bit of a walk, I got to grab my bike back where I found you."
At least her bike had a GPS too so she could track it.
Re: Hospital Thread
Re: Hospital Thread
She didn't say a word as she stayed there for Blake, her body trembling from her emotions as her fists clenched by her side.
Re: Hospital Thread
"You're always saving me...I'm sorry," came a muffled mumble.
A pin prick feeling started at the corner of her eyes. But she didn't cry.
Re: Hospital Thread
"I didn't save you...not then...not now..." she said softly, tears still streaming down her face.
Re: Hospital Thread
She wasn't sure if Yang was referring to the time with Adam too - did she really think he'd have stopped stabbing her or not finished her off if the blonde had not intervened?
"Every time I'm in trouble it's you that gets dragged in."
Re: Hospital Thread
Though from this position it's easy to see the blonde's crying too, tears streaming down her face.
"IT doesn't mean you should have to get in trouble in the first place."
Re: Hospital Thread
Then she saw the tears and her attempts at humor vanished. It pained Blake to see to see her partner crying over her. Blaming herself for not being some kind of bulletproof hero. She leaned in and kissed the blonde, only to wince and break it a moment later. She had forgotten her lips were still healing. But she returned the embrace.
"There's so many things that shouldn't happen, Yang. "
Like good people blaming themselves for what bad people do.
"But I got away. And you came for me."
Re: Hospital Thread
Yang saw the wince though...and that just made the blonde wince in return, guilt welling up again even though she wasn't the cause of Blake's wounds.
That person was running free after all.
"But I shouldn't have had to. We should...we shouldn't have had to do this."
Shouldn't have had to endure this.
Re: Hospital Thread
Blake almost bit her lip, before she remembered not to and then looked down, frowning. "Shouldn't. But we do. We are. And...I can't run away anymore. There's nowhere to run to. Besides, I've tried it. It never works."
It never did. It always came back to bite her. Except the time that Yang found her. Because Yang wasn't Adam. Even without an arm and as torn up as she had been she had reached down into the pit that Blake had fallen into and yanked her out.But her teammate had suffered because of her, regardless. She may have even lay in a hospital like this. And Blake had not been there for her. Tears well up in her eyes again.
"I wasn't there for you when you were hurt. I even doubted you during the tournament. I'll regret that forever. You do more than enough for me, Yang. More than I could ever deserve."
Re: Hospital Thread
"Don't even try anymore okay? We're going to fight. Together." Yang doesn't want to hear about running. It just brings her back to that loss. The break up of their team even if they're together here. Or rather, were.
Yang doesn't speak up again as she hugs Blake, the blonde merely tilting her head down to plant a light kiss on Blake's forehead. She wasn't going to try and hurt the faunus any more than she already was.
Re: Hospital Thread
I think....I love you. Would she have the courage to say that out loud eventually? She could have been taken from Yang so easily...
Instead, she said, "Can we go home now...please?"
Re: Hospital Thread
Yang smiled softly as she nodded to Blake, moving to heft the girl in a princess cary as she walked the two out the door. "Yeah...Let's go home. I'll buy some tuna on the way."
