Who:Blake and Yang, Blake and whoever comes to visit her in the hospital.
What:Aftermath of Murder Plot, be warned.
When: Evening
Where: Fayren, in the place that Yang finds her wandering, half lucid and trying to find Weiss and later in the Hospital.
Warnings: Murder plot related, Blake took a beating. She is NOT pretty to look at right now.
Afterword:
Blake coughed and gasped coming back into consciousness. As soon as he did a hundred pin pricks of fire shot through her lips and she whimpered. The tag in her right ear throbbed but it was nothing compared to the bloody, deep gash that was still oozing blood where Battler had branded her. It was amazing she had ever regained consciousness at all.
And then slowly, things started to come flooding back. Her eyes widened, but her pupils were dilated with panic as well as agony now. "WEI - ACK!"
She couldn't complete her teammate's name. Could not talk at all really. Suddenly she leaned over and heaved. All of the blood she had swallowed was not agreeing with her. And no matter how much it hurt she couldn't stop herself from throwing up. She wondered distantly if she was going to die before she swooned, putting her head between her legs as she crouched there, the picture of an abused, dirty animal.
She gasped, each breath she drew hurting more than the last.
Weiss, where are you?
She could not lay down and die here. She forced herself to stand, using her good arm to lean against the wall of the alley way she was in for support. Where was her device? She'd get a message to Yang, Ruby...someone and tell them that Battler was a sick bastard and they had to find Weiss before it was too late. She didn't know why he had let her go, but she'd worry about details later.
When she found it she tried to type but her hands were trembling so bad that all she got was:
Text:
Baattt;er crazy. He's sIck. Attacked us. Weiss. Hurt bad. Ffffffing Weiss!
Hospital:
The ear tag had been removed. A simple puncture wound that was healing well. Thanks to a combination of modern medicine and her aura recovering the swelling around her mouth was looking better, though she might be left with a thin white scar or two. But what had kept Blake in surgery the longest was her arm. Battler had burned her thoroughly. Tissue was badly damaged and there would definitely be a terrible scar from that.
She tossed, fading in and out.

Blake/Yang thread
Re: Blake/Yang thread
Shakily she sent back a text as she rose to her feet, setting her communicator into her pocket as she reached for her motorcycle helmet.
-Blake, I'm on my way! Turn on your tracker! I'll come find you!-
The door to the garage isn't even fully open when Yang backs out, closing the garage almost as a half-thought before she's speeding down the street, easily breaking several driving laws as she looked for her obviously hurt partner.
Re: Blake/Yang thread
'FiNd WeISS. Cabbin'
Sorry, Yang, I'm tapped out. she thought, blearily.
Her device slid to the floor. Unbeknownst to Blake it turned her tracker on when it clattered to the ground.
Huh...so weak I can't hold anything anymore? Ha...maybe I'm dying.
Maybe karma had caught up to her for Beacon. But...people didn't really die here. She wouldn't have to leave Yang. She slumped back against the wall, grateful she was already sitting on the ground.
A beaten animal...Adam would say 'I told you so.' She almost smiled. No, as much as he hates me, I'm sure he'd just wish he'd killed me himself....but I'm glad Yang didn't have to see me like this.
Re: Blake/Yang thread
Ignoring the sirens of the police trailing after her, Yang drove right towards Blake's signature, coming to a halt just before the girl only to clasp a hand to her mouth.
"BLake..."
Through the lights of the motorcycle, Yang could see most of what had happened and was already sick to her stomach. Scooping up her girlfriend, the blonde couldn't help but let her eyes bleed red, the anger and sadness building up as she tried to cradle her partner.
Thankfully the police had followed Yang down to the spot where Blake was, the cops having had enough quick wit to call for an ambulance as a few tried to perform basic first aid.
"Hold her steady kid, she's lost a lot of blood." Yang wasn't sure which cop was speaking, but the blonde didn't even nod, merely staring forlornly into Blake's face as she felt her rage simmer inside her.
Re: Blake/Yang thread
Yang? But I told you to go after Weiss...
She moaned, but that was the only sound she could get out before fading back into unconsciousness.
Re: Blake/Yang thread
Yang would be watching the whole way to the hospital, trying hard to stem the tears that threatened to fall down her face.
Hospital Thread
Re: Hospital Thread
He wished he were more clever or more empathetic, knowing the perfect thing to say to bring joy or comfort. But he's just kind of an idiot so he's winging it. Once visiting hours were open, in he comes with some more of his trademark white flowers. Everyone liked them so far.
"Hello, Blake. I'm glad you're recovering. I'm Ted; you might remember me as the one who recommended Teanie Teas. I wasn't the only one, of course. Was it a good recommendation? I hope so; I know that would make Luke's day."
Re: Hospital Thread
"Tea shop?" her voice was hoarse, but at least talking was getting less painful. "The tea was good."
Then a long pause before, "Weiss....is she here? They won't let me leave my room yet."
And the last time she had tried they had sedated her. Probably screaming at the nurse didn't help.
Re: Hospital Thread
He could certainly use an angel now, as he thought how to proceed. Someone he didn't know much about, beyond hailing from Remnant, who could hardly speak. What do you say to that? He could start by answering the question, at least. "Sorry, I haven't seen her about."
Gotta put on the thinking cap for this one...
Re: Hospital Thread
"Need to heal faster," she almost sounds like she's sulking. "Take down...that bastard..."

Re: Hospital Thread
Looking down, Yang sighed as she gazed at her right arm; new, metallic, once a source of happiness, now....now she couldn't care less... All she wanted now was just one thing. One thing to set her heart a little more at ease.
She just wanted...
"Blake...wake up....please?"
her partner awake.
Re: Hospital Thread
Suddenly her eyes flew open and darted around wildly. They had a panicked, feral look in them. "NO!"
She jerked herself up only to give out a shriek at upsetting her arm. She fell back against the covers whimpering, but unable to bit her lip to stifle them. It was then that she noticed Yang for the first time.
Her expression changed from relieved, to happy, and back to horrified in the span of a minute as she grabbed for the hospital blanket with her good hand, her first instinct being that she didn't want the blond seeing her like this. Not disfigured and beaten and for all she was aware still with that horrible tag in her ear.
Re: Hospital Thread
Watching Blake's emotions as she noticed the blonde hurt...that relief and then the horror stung at knowing that BLake had to go through this. It didn't stop Yang though from wrapping her arms around the girl, holding on lightly as she nuzzled against BLake's neck.
"T-thank god you're alive..." Alive...not alright. There was no more alright anymore. Though at least they had that tag out of Blake's ear. That was the first thing Yang demanded the doctors fix once they got her there and into stable condition.
Re: Hospital Thread
"You got your arm..." she whispered.
Then it her that she had not even been there for it. She had somehow managed to still, after all her training and being careful make Yang have to come to her rescue.
"I'm sorry,"Blake croaked, tears starting to fall.

text, a couple days later
[ She wasn't okay. She wasn't going to ask if Blake was okay. But safe, for now, was what she knew she could ask. She just wanted to make sure. She wanted to know about the others, but she figured if Blake knew, she would say something. Weiss couldn't watch the video. She couldn't go back to check if everyone made it out. ]
Re: text, a couple days later
[Safe? Safe is the most important thing. Blake hasn't seen the video and is still unaware how large-scale what Battler did was. Though she will know soon enough when she is well enough to wonder the hospital.]
text, a couple days later
[ "Escape" wasn't exactly the right word, but Blake had gone through enough. She'd let her worry about Weiss dying once she was a little better. ]
Please make sure Ruby, Jaune, Winter, and Flynt are safe. He got them too.
Re: text, a couple days later
Annnnnd there is the answer to your question, Blake.[She might have scared several people with shout of 'No!' if they happened to be near her room in the hospital. But Weiss, thankfully, won't see that. Not that she really wants anyone looking at her right now.]I will.
[But she wonders why Weiss hasn't contacted them herself. She is texting Blake after all. That's worrisome.]
Where are you?
text, a couple days later
I probably won't come home for a while.
I just wanted to make sure you and everyone got out and let you know that I'm safe, so don't come after me.
[ Weiss had tried to go home, tried to go back to that cabin to make sure that everyone had gotten out or to face Battler now that she was free, but her feet wouldn't move when she tried to go. She was petrified to think about going back, scared to see the faces of the people who were brought there solely because of her. She'd tried to go home and it felt like she couldn't breathe. It wasn't as if she felt like she was running either, she just couldn't yet.
Just in case Blake doesn't believe it's her, she sends a snapchat selfie attached to the message. There's no blood, everything's clean. It looks like behind her head is a sleeping back she's laying on, but it's carefully framed that the sleeping bag is all that's visible in the background. Weiss just looks.. exhausted, numb, but alive and not in physical pain. Probably too clean for how she'd looked in that cabin, considering the only visible scar seemed to be the one she always had over her eye. The message says "See? Safe and whole." ]

Re: text, a couple days later
a day or two after Blake arrived at the hospital
She didn't have the dark aura that she had carried when Luke had been hurt, but it was quite heavy, saturating the air around her. Fortunately, at least, she seemed to be keeping it well-enough in check.
She looked down at her device, and then out the window, and then straight ahead once more. She drummed her nails one... two times more, glancing in Blake's direction.
"Oh! Miss Shade. You're awake!" The aura instantly dissolved as she drifted over to the bedside. "How are you feeling?"
Re: a day or two after Blake arrived at the hospital
She wondered how long she had slept this time. She had a suspicion these people were sedating her because they knew the minute she could slip out of bed she would. Or she was overestimating herself and really was that tired. But she had never slept so much in her life.
"Achy," she replied. She had a feeling it could be worse if she wasn't on the drugs they kept giving her. She felt a little cheered at seeing the youkai though she was concerned about the little girl seeing her this messed up even if she were healing. Someone's innocence should be preserved. It was long too late for hers.

Her third eye drifted forward, settling on the bed. "He said some really horrible things too... I'm sorry." She wrung her hands. "I'm not very good at offering comfort or talking to people. Sis is better at talking."

She reached over and placed the hand of her uninjured limb on the girl's head. "There's no right thing to say or good way to talk about these things. What Battler did wasn't right or good."
Exhibit A, her conversation with Weiss. She most certainly wasn't going to hold it against Koishi that she wasn't eloquent on a topic that most grown adults wouldn't know how to approach.
"I'm just glad you weren't caught up in it," she said.

Her face darkened a little bit at Blake's next statement, her eyes quite literally dimming, the edges of her sclera slowly turning black. It would take a sharp eye to spot the subtle shift of her jaw and cheeks, though she was keeping it in check, her human mask remaining in place.
"I wish I had been. That swamp creature killed me awhile ago and I had to wake up in the hospital. It was really unpleasant and I don't let my guard down anymore." Her tone was cold. "If he had met me then he would have been the one in the hospital. Not you or any of the others..."
She had to stop, blinking and shaking her head, reaching up to rub at her left eye. "... No more hunting though. I chased down Adachi." Probably the first time Blake had heard her use a name. "He hurt Luke and Luke is just a little human. I can't stand it when humans hurt other humans without cause or reason. That goes for faunus too. You guys are supposed to hunt monsters." She had the strangest look on her face, her third eye open a sliver and staring blindly forward.
