[A man glanced around and took shaky, shallow breaths, with eyes as wide as saucers. Behind him was some part of the forest in Fayren but, even in the coming evening gloom, it was apparent something had happened.
The trees were scorched, but there was no fire. They were drenched, but they weren't next to any apparent water. And, on top of that, something had ripped through some of them and torn a few in half.
Bracken was unscathed even if he looked alarmed. He clung to his staff like he needed it to live, and otherwise had some plain looking but clean robes. The only notable thing would be the necklace tied to his belt, rather than placed around his neck.]
H-Help! A, A little girl is after m-me!
[His voice was tense and manic with fear.]
[Action - Fayren]
[Bracken wasn't particularly hiding. Anyone could stumble up on him if they wanted.
They wouldn't find any little girls anywhere. She didn't exist. The damage done to that piece of the forest, however, was very real, and was only around the area that Bracken was standing.
Rather than introducing himself, he had managed to find an area that looked most familiar to him and wandered there. And there was no reason to stop him - he was quiet and wasn't causing any trouble. But after meandering into the forest for a while, well, somehow this had come about...]

[She can try and teleport him but that has a chance to go HORRIBLY wrong.]
Umm...
[Wait.]
Y-You're teleporting is working? Mine... Mine isn't.
[Shit.]
Where are you now?
[She might have moved him but she has no idea where. Airy can't control what she does.]
[Video] Totally my fault for misreading, sorry!
[The teleporting he was used to was different. It involved swirling lights and a moment of time, disappearing from one location and appearing in another. This was almost too fast for him. He didn't have time to comprehend it. In an instant his feet fell into some water and he stumbled to get his balance, before falling onto his butt.
For a moment he sat there, in some sort of small bank, looking dazed and wondering what happened. But, he didn't know this spot any better than he knew any other spot.]
U-Umm... I'm... here?
[Video] <3
Here where? Can you describe it?
[He isn't to good at describing his surroundings and Airy's close to freaking out.]
[Video] <3
[He was terrible with describing things. This place did look familiar for some reason, though. Climbing to his feet, he looked around the cave, moving his video around thoughtlessly as he did. It was the Bay, and he was wet.]
I, I was here earlier... B-But it looks darker now. There's... There's a lot of water.
[He started fumbling along to get back out.]
[Video] <3
[She's checking the bay first and if not there she's wandering around the city until she finds him.]
I am so sorry.
[Airy feels awful for this.]
[Maybe he'd been disoriented, and was all turned around on this new world, but he didn't really blame her for that.
Although he was probably supposed to be waiting for her, he kept moving to get out of the cave. He didn't want to stand in the water. As soon as he found some dry land to sit on he wouldn't mind staying anywhere.
And that he did. He had no particular direction, he just eventually stumbled upon the edge of the water and climbed out of it. After taking a moment to warm and dry himself with wind and fire, he sat down and folded his legs in front of him, waiting like a good boy.]
[Video]->[Action]
Okay, I found you. Are you okay?
[She wants to ask what had been chasing him but she has a feeling that she won't get a better description than what he's already given her.]
[Action]
Before he answered he took a moment to look himself over, like he himself wasn't sure, but he nodded.]
I-I'm fine. Now... Now what?
[She had said she would come and get him, but he didn't know what came after that.]
[Action]
[It's obvious that Airy hasn't thought that through.]
Ah, well. You read the pamphlet right? And saw the recording. I can take you to a place to stay. It's called Almagi Inn. It's nice, Yukiko runs it.
[She's apparently not great at describing things either, she simply has the advantage to knowing it's name.]
Maybe get a map of the other areas before you wander around...
[Action]
I was... I was looking, for... for a place where teleporting would work...
[His voice was quiet. Mostly, he had no reason to pay attention to where he was going, because he was just planning on walking around until he found a spot he could leave from. Fayren had looked promising.
His eyes were averted as he asked.]
I-Is Almagi Inn like home, too...?
[Action]
[It isn't normal for her.]
I don't know what your home is like. [She pauses before flashing a smile.] Why not tell me about it?
[Action]
[Nothing special about that. He even smiled, because it seemed like a silly question.
He thought about his home. His house. It was actually more of a mansion, sitting atop a mountain far away from any city. Cities were too noisy with too many people. He liked people, but a guy needed a break sometimes.]
W-Well... Well, there's a lot of places. M-My house is on a mountain. Th-Thistle stays near Thes... Theskittle. The butterfly people live th-there. A-And... There's forests, and... and deserts, and snowy places, and... and other places.
[Too many to count. It was enormous. One of his friends had been traversing the world for years and still hadn't covered everything. Luckily, teleporting made it easy enough to see him even though he kept exploring further and further.]
[Action]
Where I come from no one can teleport. [She doesn't want to talk about what she had done earlier because she isn't exactly no-one.] There are mountains and things but that's like the whole world. My home was a small town called Island Falls.
[The name sounds almost romantic here.]
Um... I know the city isn't ideal but I can show you to an inn near here, maybe get your bearings before you go running off into Fayren again.
[Action]
[He supposed there was walking or riding a mount, but teleporting was always the fastest.]
M-My house was on a m-mountain, up... up in the clouds. No, No one else lived a-around there. There's... there's not much to say, about it.
[Someone else might have thought it was really impressive, considering the size, the view, the location... But it was just a place to go to relax.]
C-Can I teleport from there?
[Action]
[She can't make heads or tails of what he's stumbling about.]
[Action]
What... What if you wanted to, to go to the other side of th-the world?
[Action]
There isn't another side of the world. This isn't your home. There are only the archways and sub-archways...
[Her tone is kind but laced with pain. She feels awful for telling him this.]
[Action]
[That's what he got for mostly skimming, but he hadn't thought he'd need to know much about this place when he was just planning on leaving.
But that actually left him with more questions.]
But... But the world... I-It's round, isn't it?
[Action]
[Airy rolls her shoulders in a slightly awkward shrug.]
I don't know because there are barriers, if you go to far in any town you pass out and wake up in the hospital.
You really should read the pamphlet, people who've been here longer than me wrote it.
[Action]
[He dug into his pocket to pull it out and glance down at it. Chances were he wouldn't get through it and would learn from other people, but he would try. He just felt like something wasn't making sense. No matter how he thought of a ball or a pancake or anything, it always had another side. He couldn't picture it without another side.
He stared at the ground for a moment while he tried to figure it out, but eventually he gave up and his mind turned back to his friends.]
Is... Is there a place, to send mail to o-other worlds?
[Action]
[Airy's smile falls completely and her easy demeanor becomes tense. She really wishes he'd read some of the packet or listened to the hologram of Weiss that plays at the front of the Bay, they all say the same things and she feels bad for having to be the one to tell him.]
I'm sorry.
[Action]
There's... There's no place good? With magic? Or... Or, someplace quiet?
[Action]
[What she does isn't exactly magic but if it makes him feel at home.
Airy kneels down and places two fingers in the water. She focuses on the feeling against her fingertips and then imagine what she's trying to do in her head. Slowly rainbow color bubbles begin to rise from the pool, drifting lazily around the room.]
It's not that impressive but I'm good at making bubbles.
[She likes bubbles.]
