There are dragons in this world.

[ Captain Obvious's voice is heard before the feed even finishes turning on. Zeref himself has always been rather camera shy, so he's not actually in the feed; instead, it's being broadcast from the library, again. There's a few books open, on the table, all of them about dragons. ]

There's no shortage of information here about them, but I can't find anything about Dragon Slayers. At least, not about the type of mage. [ A bit about people who have killed dragons with swords or bows and the like - a ridiculous idea in the context of his world - but nothing about people who literally eat certain elements and use that power to kill dragons. ]

I don't suppose any of you have encountered one?

... Good. [ He actually sounds relieved when he hears that. Not that he's worried about what any of his demons would do - he's pretty confident that if it came to that, he could talk them down - but he's worried about how he would go about doing that, especially when he knows that they'd want to take a shot at Fairy Tail, and that that feeling would be mutual with them. ]

That's little comfort for the others here, but I guess that answers my question.

[From the sound of walking and the moving scenes behind her head, Virgo was on the move. She's also thinking rather deeply since her face has gone completely blank. This place was so different that the normal rules didn't always apply and the geography certainly didn't. There were no safe havens like Tenroujima, no magic libraries, no Council... But that also meant a whole new area of new possibilities to explore.

Hope you don't mind the feed continuing for several silent minutes as she travels at a normal pace without turning off the feed.]

[ No, he doesn't. But her words strike a chord with him. His eyes fall, and his hand lowers onto the table. His tone grows quiet as well. ]

I've seen too many people die. If the rest of humanity could see what I've seen, they would change, too... But I guess that's what the luxury of a finite life affords them. They don't have to live long enough to see the consequences of their actions, or have to change because of them.

[Her eyes are quite steady on the phone so it's probably a miracle she hasn't run into anyone yet, or just through them. So, Zeref has come to see things a bit like the Gold Keys in some ways. But only in the negative way.]

That is not always true, Zeref. Humans are young but they can learn quickly. Just a few owners ago many humans were afraid of magic.

Not quickly enough. Each generation makes the same mistakes as the last. History repeats itself far too often. Era after era, the same thing... it is discouraging.

That doesn't matter in a world like this. That said, it's becoming increasingly clear that humans are the same, no matter which world I visit. Exsilium proved it... this world is beginning to confirm it.

It is similar. [ She's here. He'll just sit here until she shows up, still reading about the dragons. ] Though, I was able to use magic in Exsilium. I've heard that magic doesn't exist in Edolas... not that I would know.

There used to be but it was reversed to send it all to Earth-Land, as well as all the Exceed.

I see. [ He knew the Exceed came from Edolas, but Edolas itself is Zeref knows little about. Admittedly, that's one topic he needs to brush up on. ] I've never been there. For all I know, though, the humans there are no different than those of Earth Land.
