There are dragons in this world.

[ Captain Obvious's voice is heard before the feed even finishes turning on. Zeref himself has always been rather camera shy, so he's not actually in the feed; instead, it's being broadcast from the library, again. There's a few books open, on the table, all of them about dragons. ]

There's no shortage of information here about them, but I can't find anything about Dragon Slayers. At least, not about the type of mage. [ A bit about people who have killed dragons with swords or bows and the like - a ridiculous idea in the context of his world - but nothing about people who literally eat certain elements and use that power to kill dragons. ]

I don't suppose any of you have encountered one?

Dragons, eh? Can't say I've ever encountered any in my world, but that doesn't mean they don't exist--especially since we have hunters of our own.

[A small pause.]

They don't hunt for any "prize," though--they mainly keep the peace.

Hunters? Are they similar to magic guilds?

Depends on what a "magic guild" is, I guess.

The most common type of magic guild are called 'legal guilds,' which are independent, private organizations that operate within the guidelines set up by the Magic Council. They usually accept jobs for money, including bounty-hunting.

That doesn't sound like the hunters at all. Like I said, they don't do things for the prize--money included. They just try to maintain the peace between humans and any being with the power to hurt them.

I see. [ A beat. ] The guilds of my world do very much the same thing, but I guess their motivations can differ, slightly.

It sounds like the organization you're talking about and the one I'm talking about have motives that differ greatly, but oh well~

I guess it is the end result that is more important.
