There are dragons in this world.

[ Captain Obvious's voice is heard before the feed even finishes turning on. Zeref himself has always been rather camera shy, so he's not actually in the feed; instead, it's being broadcast from the library, again. There's a few books open, on the table, all of them about dragons. ]

There's no shortage of information here about them, but I can't find anything about Dragon Slayers. At least, not about the type of mage. [ A bit about people who have killed dragons with swords or bows and the like - a ridiculous idea in the context of his world - but nothing about people who literally eat certain elements and use that power to kill dragons. ]

I don't suppose any of you have encountered one?

May I ask what Demon Curses do exactly?

[ Wendy had recovered from it all mostly, but she never really go the whole story on them. She only knew what was given to her and that was it. She didn't want to end up being dangerous to her friends if the curses affected her in any way. ]

Fairy Tail would not do such things.

Curses do not abide by the same rules as magic. They rely on a completely different source of energy. Tartarus claims that Curses are inherently superior to magic, but that, of course, is debatable.

As for what they do specifically, Curses vary just as much as magic. Some have immediate affects, like Jackal's Bomb Curse, or Ezel's Tenga Goken. Others are can last much longer, like Sayla's Macro or Kyouka's Reinforcement Curse.

[ She remembered that Tartarus was definitely working off some other energy so it made it easier for them to access FACE that way. It didn't drain their abilities, rather the mages and the other humans were the ones that were losing their magical ability. She was happy to have stopped such a tragic thing from happening.

Wendy listens to his explanation, nodding her head. ]

It's a kind of magic still...but different...?

Functionally, yes, they are very similar. The difference lies in how it is performed.

[ It'd sure be nice to know what the specific differences are. ]

The demon of Tartarus are made up of a subspecies of demons known as 'Etherious.' You might have noticed that they look very different than most other demons. Etherious can take almost any size and shape. Some don't look that different from humans with only minor differences, while others are much more monstrous in appearance.

[ Yes, it would help a lot but she takes what can be given. ]

That's why they can look very human...then.

[ That also explained why they were extremely powerful. She was lucky to have survived defeating Ezel. It was pure luck that she managed to tap into her Dragon Force because he was about to hurt Charle badly. ]

How many of them did you meet?

[ So far, she's only told him which ones she's fought. Lucy said she and Natsu fought Jackal, and now he's found out that Ezel was defeated. He's trying to gauge just how capable Fairy Tail is of fighting them. From what he's seen, Jackal and Ezel definitely didn't go down easily. ]

It's no trouble at all.

I'm not sure. I remember Ezel and-- Jackal who attacked Lucy-san and Natsu-san. There was also a man... that there when we were investigating the giant village...?

[ She mused furrowing her brows. She knew who she fought and what Lucy and Natsu was fighting. She only briefly remembered the other person. ]

I'm afraid I don't know much about that. Can you tell me more?

I'm not quite sure of the idea but there was a village that was frozen in time. We were investigating it and somehow melted the ice that the town was encased in. The Dragon Atlas was the guardian of it. He unfroze the village but the villagers did not remember anything after being frozen.

Can you describe the ice?

It took a long time to melt and it was difficult to defrost it at first.

And it wasn't Iced Shell?

[ He has an idea, then. But as evil and sadistic as Tartarus is, they usually don't attack random villages for no reason. They keep as low of a profile as possible, and for good reason, until they really do have a major plan to set in motion. ]

I've only heard of Iced Shell. I've never seen it. Maybe...?

[deathsought]

I see... While it is certainly possible to create ice that can resist being melted, freezing an entire dragon, especially a fire dragon, is no easy task. Iced Shell could possibly do it. The only other two options that come to mind are Ice Dragon Slayer Magic, or a demon's Curse that involves Ice.

[ And the most likely culprit, of course, is Silver. ]

I've never met a Ice Dragon Slayer before and I haven't seen anything like Iced Shell. Maybe I should ask Gray-san?

[ She's only known of certain things. ]

Natsu-san melted it...the Fire Dragon. He was the dragon that appeared during the Grand Magic Games when the gates were opened

The one whose body appeared to be made of flames?

[ Yes, Wendy. He knew about that. ]

In that case, I know of only one mage that could do that: The Ice Devil Slayer, Silver. Also known as Absolute Zero, one of the Nine Demon Gates of Tartarus.

Y-Yes, I believe so.

[ She nodded her head and seriously!! That's not a good memory for her!!!! But she's at least over it for now. Please don't bring it up. ]

A-Ah...is that so?

[ Which concerns her because Tartarus was that powerful! ]

Yes.

[ Apparently, since Curses don't count as magic, they're except from the "only Dragon Slayer Magic works" rule. Would be nice to have that clarified or confirmed. Who am I kidding, it's Hiro Mashima we're talking about here. ]

Silver isn't quite as violent as Jackal or Ezel, but he's no less powerful... or dangerous when angered.

[ Wendy's still learning about the world of magic outside of her own, so any information, she would absorb and take into consideration. ]

I-it would be nice if everyone could get along...even humans and...demons.

[ Because it would be much more peaceful. By the end of the day everyone was a living breathing person, regardless of age, gender, species, or anything else. ]

That has been something I have been wanting to see happen for centuries... and it never does.

[ His voice is just dripping with disillusionment, there. ]

It's... hard, I think. We're all different.

[ She replied weakly. ]

Zeref-san wished for peace as well?

[deathsought]

Yes. [ A beat. His voice grows a bit more low. ] Only, I've now lived long enough to know that it will never happen. Human nature won't allow it.

There aren't always bad humans. There are many that are accepting and kind...it's the matter of finding the right people.

[ She firmly believes that as she tries to reassure him somehow. She tilts her head in worry at the change of his tone as it goes lower. ]

[deathsought]

The bad far outnumber the good, and held almost every position of power. They never seem to learn from the past. I've seen it happen over and over again... but hopefully, this world will be different.

Everyone has a reason, to be what they are, whether they're good or bad.

[ She replied softly as she nodded her head. ]

I hope that we can all get along.
