ONE [Video/Action]
[The face on the screen isn't one that would be considered friendly. It's the face of a man in his late twenties with bags under his eyes that are so heavy it looks as if he hasn't slept in at least a month. He frowns, taking a moment to think as he sighs heavily.]
I'll make this brief. My name is Trafalgar Law and I, like many others, am new to this city. I've read the pamphlets, I've seen the video, and I've done some preliminary information gathering so I don't need any hellos or welcomes.
I'm looking for my crew. If you know of anyone who claims affiliation with the Heart Pirates, I'd appreciate it if you could point me in their direction.
[And with that the video feed is cut. No pleasantries included.]
[ACTION.]
[Law has only been here for a couple of days by this point, so he'll be spending most of his time wandering the city in order to get his bearings. He's also looking for a job. Surely there's a need for a doctor somewhere.]

Whoever this is, you left your communicator on.

On the other hand it's not as if Law wouldn't find out he was here and there's really no need for stealth so]
My apologies. [he is still refilling his tea though but feel free to gaze in wonder at his dog which is currently licking the screen]
It's been a while hasn't it, Trafalgar Law. I'm actually glad you've arrived.
no subject
He frowns at the dog, glaring daggers in hopes it'll get freaked and move out of the way so he can see what's going on.]
Are you now? Why's that, I wonder?
no subject
You're an intelligent man. Far more than most people give you credit for. [pours some milk into his tea and then stares into the fridge for something to have for a snack. It doesn't help that it's about knee height.]
Or...perhaps they overestimate you? You're certainly more reckless than you seem to be.

Law goes to great strides to make sure people see what he wants them to see. He's careful with what he says and does, though he goes to lengths to make it seem like he's not. He thinks ahead, he plans, he's careful.
But sometimes.... sometimes he's not. Sometimes emotion takes over. Sometimes he acts on impulse and says things that he knows, he knows, will go over poorly for him in the end, sometimes he does something that has no reason or rationale behind it. He just... does.
Now is not one of those times. Now he's attentive, he's careful, curious, even.
He'll see what Kuzan has to say.]

[he sits down, though makes no move to shoo the dog from its perch]
Could you name the dog?
1/2
WHAT THE HELL EVEN JUST DID HE REALLY
IS THIS WHAT HE WANTS
FOR HIM TO NAME HIS DOG??
HIS. DOG.]
I LIED. 2/3
3/3
Are you serious? You want me to name your damn dog?!
no subject
[slurp]
Though I'll have to reject it if it's indecent. [
this is a children's manga]no subject
[He's not doing this. Nope. Not today. Not ever.]
no subject
[no but he's trolling him so]
Or perhaps not. I would like an obedient creature. [the dog rolls over for belly rubs and Kuzan indulges with a finger]
And what are your plans here?
no subject
Plans? Get a job, I suppose. I'm sure there's need for a doctor somewhere in this city.
[What strange times we live in where Trafalgar Law is looking for a legitimate job.]
no subject
[who knows. He's not known as the surgeon of sunshine and warm feelings after all]
Ma well I suppose if you do get out of line I'm on vacation so there's nothing legitimately I can do to stop you... Though I would be morally obligated to do so... So please proceed in these plans. I fully support them.
[he doesn't want to have to chase after you]
no subject
I guess we'll have to wait and see which it is.
no subject
...well I suppose even you can't get up to too much trouble.
... or can you? Perhaps you can... But do you have the ... heart?
[it's a pun, or a play on words]
no subject
Honestly, Law's sure he could get into plenty of trouble if he wanted to, but... he doesn't. There's absolutely no reason to start anything.
If the situation ever changes, if something happens to strain the tenuous amicability of these new found relationships, or if something were to occur within the city itself to change the dynamics at work, well...
He's made plenty of trouble before and he'd have no qualms with doing it here.]
I don't have a particularly strong desire to make a mess of things. Being a pirate means just about as much as being a Marine does in this place. None of it matters.
no subject
No, forget it. That's something Smoker would think... [or more or less anyway]
Maybe we could actually be friends? [strokes chin]
no subject
If... if they could be friends?
He's quick to regain his composure, but there's hesitation in his voice.]
That would depend on a lot of things.
[A lot of things even beyond that fact that Law doesn't really do "friends".]
no subject
[he's flexible. You should see him do yoga]
no subject
He'd also rather not answer that question because one of those things would be if he could get over the fact that he was being friendly with a man who was once a vice-admiral and who almost froze his submarine and his crew in a block of ice.]
I'm not exactly the most social of people, for one. There are other reasons of course and they may be subjective, or perhaps they only apply to me, but friendship isn't something I do easily.
[... Or with marines who aren't Corazon.]
