ONE [Video/Action]
[The face on the screen isn't one that would be considered friendly. It's the face of a man in his late twenties with bags under his eyes that are so heavy it looks as if he hasn't slept in at least a month. He frowns, taking a moment to think as he sighs heavily.]
I'll make this brief. My name is Trafalgar Law and I, like many others, am new to this city. I've read the pamphlets, I've seen the video, and I've done some preliminary information gathering so I don't need any hellos or welcomes.
I'm looking for my crew. If you know of anyone who claims affiliation with the Heart Pirates, I'd appreciate it if you could point me in their direction.
[And with that the video feed is cut. No pleasantries included.]
[ACTION.]
[Law has only been here for a couple of days by this point, so he'll be spending most of his time wandering the city in order to get his bearings. He's also looking for a job. Surely there's a need for a doctor somewhere.]

Action
She's right though. A good receptionist would be integral. Law doesn't have the best bedside manner so a friendly face being the first and last person they see would be helpful.
Then he remembers something from their first conversation. Tashigi had said she'd give him an endorsement. Maybe he could push that a bit further. After all, she did say that she owes him and she would be great in the role.
He smirks, sounding amused, but he's completely serious about what he says.]
Is that something you'd be interested in, Tashigi-ya?
Action
[Hmm. She puts on her thinking cap.]
Well, even if it's not always respected, it's important work. I've already done plenty of paperwork for the Navy, so that wouldn't be difficult. Yes, that's something I should be able to handle. I hadn't thought about it before, though.
[Law.]
[She clearly has not understood what you meant.]
[You surely wouldn't be saying she should be YOUR receptionist.]
[Clearly.]
Action
The smirk grows a little. He wonders if she's this obtuse naturally or if it's because the question came from him.
He thought the intention behind his question was clear, but it looks like he'll have to be even more blunt.]
Well it just so happens that in addition to getting myself a job I also happen to be in the market for a receptionist.
Action 1/graprefruit
[Wait.]
[Wait wait wait wait wait.]
Action 2/pineapple
Action 3/coconut
Action 4/apple
Action 5/5
[She shouldn't be considering it.]
[She shouldn't.]
[Out of the question.]
... I...
[Except he's a doctor. A damn good doctor. A doctor who will save little kids who've been through the worst kind of trauma. He's someone who saves lives.]
[And she owes him a debt.]
[TRAFALGAR WHY ARE YOU THE WORST EVER UGH. IF THIS IS A JOKE...]
Are you certain? You're serious about this?
Action
Law resists the urge to laugh, watching her with a look of mild amusement.
This was, in fact, happening. He really was asking her to work for him. Not work with him, not cooperate, not even ally. He was asking her to be a subordinate.]
I wouldn't have offered otherwise and I think you're more than capable. I need someone quick on their feet and who's willing to learn, but most of all I need a person who wants to help people. Someone who would take the job seriously. Someone dedicated.
Action
[She should shut the whole thing down right here and now with a no.]
[... so why is she considering it?]
[Smoker told her to keep following her own justice. Is this it? Is this what it means to her? To throw away the rest of her pride and work under him? Sure, she wouldn't really be a pirate, but wouldn't it be just as bad?]
[AUGH. SHE IS NOT PREPARED TO MAKE THIS CHOICE YET.]
[She should say no.]
... I'd like some time to consider it, if that's okay.
[That was not a no.]
Action
It's a reasonable question. It wasn't too long ago that they were enemies and the short truce they had come to on Punk Hazard was certainly over. In this place it may not mean anything to be a marine or to be a pirate, but the fact of the matter was that he was one.
He's a former warlord and even before he earned that title he was notorious.
The disconnect she would have to be willing to make would be far greater than the one she was making now. Uneasy friendly conversations were one thing, but actually working for a pirate? Well, that was something else all together.]
Take your time. You know how to contact me.
Action
[Without another word, she walks off, head in utter turmoil.]
[Damn you, Trafalgar.]
