[ the high striker, otherwise known as the strength tester had caught shiemi’s eye the moment she entered the fair. she had summoned nee so the little demon could also join in on the festivities with her. the grand prize? a big, overly fluffy teddy bear. there was a free mask for all participants with all sorts of animals drafted into them.

with the help of nee, she had won the grand prize, and walked away from the game with a skip in her step and people slack jawed at how someone as small as her could slam such a huge mallet down and ring the bell at the top loud enough to where it turned people’s heads in different areas of the fair. dizzy with happiness, she hugged the humongous stuffed animal to her chest, squealing. in her free hand she carried a small mask, a pure white cat with a pink button nose. ]

That was great, Nee-chan! What do you wanna do next? Ring toss? Get something to eat? [ the greenman waves its stubby arms. ] Ring toss it is!

[ approach her or something. she’ll be standing there, chatting happily with her demon familiar. ]

What's its name?

[He might mean the familiar, or he might mean the giant stuffed animal. Because he's like that.]

Oh, Smoker-san! [ She gives him a polite wave, bowing her head briefly to him. ] This is Nee-chan.

[ she motions to the small demon on her shoulder. ]

I… haven’t named the bear yet! Suggestions?

[justicereigns]

[Nods his head back in return, and to Nee.] Hello, Nee.

[Bites hard on the cigars, thinking.] Demon. [A grin.] To confuse people. [Never let Smoker name things.]

[herbarium]

…Demon? [ that’s an interesting suggestion. since it was obviously a sincere one, she’ll consider it. ] You got that right! It confused me too.

[ nee then tugs on her hair gently as a reminder of their destination. shiemi jumps and noticed she hadn’t moved an inch. ]

Oh gosh! We were suppose to go play another game. Wanna come with us, Smoker-san?

[Grins.]

Yeah, I'd be uh... honored. [NO SHIEMI HE IS SO SERIOUS HE IS THE MOST AWKWARD PERSON WHO EVER AWKWARDED. He's a little better than Frankenstein's monster. That's about it :|]

What are you going to play?

[Also he might be trying to tickle Nee under the chin to see how it reacts.]

[ honored? shiemi gets starry eyed that she has someone like smoker to attend with her! biggest smoker fan, right here!

AND IF HE’S AWKWARD, SHE’S STRAIGHT UP EMBARRASSING… ]

[ nee even tries to crawl into smoker’s hand, if he lets the small demon do as such. ]

We were going to go to the ring toss! It’ll be fun!

[Smoker will totally carry Nee, and put him on his shoulder just like he was on Shiemi's!]

Yeah? Have you ever done it before?

[ OH WOW THIS IS SO CUTE… ]

I’ve be played something similar back home.

[ but she pulls out her phone and points the camera at smoker and nee with a smile. ]

Do you mind posing for a photo? This is very adorable!

[Yukiko smiled slightly, having gotten food and was currently happily enjoying it. She was happily watching people who walked past.]

Are you having a good time? I mean you have a smile on your face and a giant stuffed animal, so I should assume so.

[herbarium]

I got it on the high striker! This was the grand prize. [ she holds out the bear for yukiko to examine with a smile. ] I also got this mask for the ball! Are you going to Masque Ball?

[firefandance]

Congratulations on getting the prize.

[She paused for a moment. She had heard of the ball, but didn't think if she was planning on going or not.]

I might be. It looks like it might be fun after all.

[herbarium]

You should definitely go! I really want to see you all dressed up and pretty.

[ shiemi falls into line with her, motioning for her to walk with her. ]

Huh, really?

[She wondered why, she couldn't quite understand it really.]

It won't be a major thing me getting dressed up though.

[herbarium]

Yep, of course! I think you’d look really pretty in a dress of some sort.

[ what was there not to understand? shiemi thought it was pretty simple. unless… ]

Are you not the type of girl to dress up? Don’t worry. I’m not either!

I admit, not really worn a dress.

[Last time there was a fancy party she ended up in a kimono of all things. It was just something she was use to.]

Not really. I mean back home apart from work, had no reason to.

[herbarium]

There’s a lot of kimonos in Fayren set on display for the ball. And there are ball gowns in the other cities. I can definitely help you out with either!

[ she gives yukiko an encouraging thumbs-up. ]

Really? Dressing up can be a really good change from all that! What a hard worker you are!

Doing the ring toss?

[Yugi had been wondering around as best as he could on crutches and had been planning on playing the games, so long as they would allow for him to at least sit down.]

Yugi-kun!

[ she runs over to meet him halfway, smiling warmly all the while. ]

Yeah! Have you played it already?

Not yet. But I'm planning to.

[He smiled slightly.]

I would need to set up my chair though. I have to sit down to play right now due to crutches.

[herbarium]

Need any help at all? We can even win prizes together!

[ she gasps happily. ]

Also are you going to go to the ball?

[sizedoesntmatter]

I think I might need the help, thank you.

[Plus them winning together actually sounded like it could be a lot of fun. At least that way there was no winner or loser of the whole thing.]

It will be fun to win alongside you. Eve more so if we're having fun. That's what matters when it comes to games.

[He paused for a moment, having to actually think about it for a moment or two.]

I might do. Are you going to go?

Well, as long as you tell me what you need any help with, it won’t be a problem at all! Especially for a friend.

[ shiemi always appreciated festivals of any kind. especially at night -- all the lights came on and it was a really pretty display. ]

Playing games is always a lot more fun with a friend.

[ she laughs. ]

Yep! I just gotta find out what to wear. I don’t have a lot of dresses. [ she hums thoughtfully. ] But you should go if you can. It would be nice to see you all dressed up, Yugi-kun!

I promise I will tell you.

[His smile went a little wider at her nods as he nodded.]

It is. Much better than playing alone. [he knew he would know better than anyone.]

I... uh... [He paused, unsure of what to say for a moment.] See what I end up wearing. it might not be that great though.

[ tentatively she places a hand gently on her shoulder, tilting her head some and smiling reassuringly. ]

Don’t say that! I’m sure it’ll be great! Besides I’m pretty sure a guy like you, Yugi-kun, will attract a lot of people! I bet you’ll look nice.
