Welcome to the Festival of Fireflies

Who: You! Anyone and everyone is welcome to come!
What: A Festival of Fireflies with games, food, rides and more!
Where: Genessia
When: August 15th-20th. Starting at 7pm
Warnings: Be sure to warn in your threads appropriately.
[The gates are open and the air is filled with the sound of music. Whether you're a reveler, a vendor or anything in between-- come and enjoy the festival!
The Firefly Masquerade post is here]
no subject
He likes being out I think.
[Her eyes glance over the fair before placing Howl down on the cart; again.]
Are you going to enjoy the fair?
[She's planning to sell flowers the whole time but she doesn't except any of her employees too.]
no subject
Maybe later.
[Festivals weren't really his thing, despite how bright and attractive everything seemed.]
Once we're done for the day. [Because he wasn't going to leave her here to handle everything by herself, especially if there were things that needed moved and shifted around.] What about you?
no subject
[Everyone deserves to have a nice time, for Terra it's here with her flowers.]
I don't plan to see the carnival. I don't know what I would see.
[It isn't like anything on her world and she doesn't like clowns...]
no subject
[Just because she had done this by herself before didn't mean he was going to be anymore comfortable leaving her to it this time.]
You could always try the rides.
[Is he actually attempting to convince someone else to have fun? Has hell actually frozen over?]
no subject
I wouldn't know where to start.
[She looks back at Cloud.]
I've never... ridden one before.
no subject
[She might enjoy the Ferris Wheel. It wasn't exceptionally scary, and it would be nice to look down over the city once they reached the top.]
Or you could let me buy you dinner.
[Smooth, Cloud. Very, very smooth.]
no subject
We can do both if you'd like.
[She doesn't mind closing the flower stand.]
I don't know what there is to eat here...unless you want to go somewhere else?
no subject
Are you actually.
Hinting that he should ask you out to dinner?
Like, an actual dinner and not just getting corn dogs from a stand because you are literally going to have to spell it out for him.
Using very small words and very big letters.]
There's a few places we could check out. [Okay, honestly, he really just wants an excuse to get another funnel cake.] After the Ferris Wheel. [Because eating and then going on rides is the absolute last thing you want to do.] You deserve to have some fun too.
no subject
Alright but just for a little while. [She wants to see the carnival and it'll be more fun if she isn't alone. Terra doesn't get out very much and she has no idea how her invitation to dinner might be taken.]
Why the Ferris Wheel?
[She turns and carefully packs up the stand, placing the closed sign on the table. She then grabs Howl hoping that they'll let the little kitten on the ride.]
no subject
Helping where he's needed, putting various things away, making sure everything is ready to go when they come back until she's ready to head off.]
You'll see. [Besides it holding a special place in his own heart, it was also the one he thought she might enjoy the most. The view from the top was pretty stunning.] Trust me.
no subject
[She does trust him and that trust isn't going away anytime soon. With everything set in place she moves to the other side of the booth, Howl still in her arms.]
It's the tall one over there right?
no subject
[Please ignore the fact that he is the biggest dork who has ever lived.
It's only a few minutes walk from vendor's row to the place where the majority of the rides are set up. With the day beginning to wind down, the crowds have thinned out slightly, making it far easier to maneuver and stay together. Still, he keeps a pretty close eye on her, staying at her side until they've reached their destination.]
no subject
Alright.
[Terra follows at his side, careful to stay close to Clouds side. Her shoulders brushes against his a few times as they make their way to the large cumbersome wheel in the distance.]
Where is the line?
[She looks over towards the base of the Ferris Wheel, pressing her shoulder against Clouds to keep herself close.]
no subject
Over here. [There's a few metal barricades set up, separating those waiting to ride from the rest of the crowd. It's relatively short, so they aren't forced to wait long before they're being buckled into one of the deep bucket seats, heavy bar keeping them safely inside.]
Hopefully Howl isn't afraid of heights.
no subject
I don't think that he'll notice. [She smiles fondly at the little kitty.] He looks tired.
[She looks back up at Cloud.]
I can't wait until we can see the fair from up high.
no subject
[It's hard work trying to catch lightning bugs that are actually contained in glass jars.
They're swept backwards, pausing for a moment to let the next set of people on.]
That's why I picked it.
no subject
I hope the heat relents some.
[To much heat is bad for the flowers.]
Cloud? Are you happy? Working at the flower shop?
no subject
Terra please do not go falling off of this Ferris Wheel.
If he has to jump off and pull off some awesome aerobatic nonsense to save you he totally will.
But he'd prefer this doesn't end in anyone almost dying.]
Sure you're gonna be able to stay on?
[Why does he always make friends with flower girls?
Her question takes him slightly by surprise, attention turning from the growing landscape to where she sits. Bright eyes avert a moment later, taking in the scene that's slowly becoming more and more distant below them.]
Yeah. I am.
no subject
It's a good thing she isn't afraid of heights.]
I'll be fine.
[She looks over at him with a soft smile.]
You worry to much Cloud but thank you. I'm happy you are comfortable. [Terra had been a little worried.]
I there is anything you need please ask. Even if it isn't related to work. [She smiles at him.] We're friends after all.
no subject
But Terra was strong and capable. She'd be able to take care of herself, so there shouldn't be any reason to worry.
And yet, he still it anyway.]
So I've heard. [Rising above the crowded festival below, twinkling lights becoming smaller until they blurred together in a sea of color. It was a sort of calming beautiful, one that enabled the on looker to relax and simply enjoy it.]
Yeah. [There's a soft nod, followed by an equally soft smile.] You too.
no subject
Thank you Cloud.
[Her fingers lightly brush against Howl's fur, who's fallen asleep on her lap.]
Before coming to Genessia, I hadn't had friends.
[Terra turns back to look at the shrinking fair below them. Her admission might sound sad but it's spoken with warmth. Her past is dark and sad but that isn't her future and she isn't going to let it stop the future from being something brighter.]
no subject
After all, his own bright blue eyes are glowing pretty intensely at the moment as well, the darkness falling over them only bringing out the effect.]
I'm sorry, Terra.
[It did sound sad, despite the amount of warmth she'd put behind it. Without his friends, he never would have gotten half as far as he had.]
no subject
[There is a strength in Terra's voice. One born out of hardship, pain and struggle.] I have those things now and I wouldn't want to change that. I don't know if I'm happy. [She has no basis of comparison.] But I know if I'm here I have a chance to be.
[Terra notices the glow in Clouds eyes but much like Cloud, she's to polite to ask. Perhaps another day. She doesn't want to bring up anything that might be uncomfortable or painful.
Her own eyes are the result of her lineage which recently has become more well known.]
