[She smiles at him before canting her head to the side.]

Where did you learn to shot like that? You sort of look like a bodyguard. [Airy knows what bodyguards look like because she works with a lot of them. Always standing up straight, always aware of what's around them and scarily good at firearms. She's getting better herself but she still has to practice.]

Guess you could call me that.

[Bodyguard is the highly sanitised version of what he does but there's no need to drag out the dirty business where it's not needed. Maybe if Rufus were here, things might be different, but unless and until that happens, he and Reno are free to follow their own wants for the time being.

As to the rest of her question...well, he won't get into the whys of it. But she'll still get an answer and a true one.]

Really? You don't look that old. Then again I know people who've begun to learn how to fight as children.

[HQ is a strange place.]

Do you prefer to use guns?

[There's plenty he could say in response to those remarks. About how his length of service to Shinra is mapped out far more prominently beneath the suit. About children learning to fight not being such a rare thing for his world, either. But still he doesn't feel them suitable conversational topics with a stranger, not that he ever truly becomes conversational with anyone he hasn't known for some time.

His quietness is a mask, often, but it's a mask built from more truth than some might think.

He can find an answer to the latter, though it's careful, measured, trying not to give too much away. Caution as habit, because he never will assume things are safe where he or his fellow Turks don't have control of a situation.]

They have their uses.

[Airy bites her lower lip.]

Are you against answering questions directly?

[She's noticed that he doesn't even answer a yes or no questions. She doesn't care what his skill set might be, just if he likes guns. She's read about different designs and types as well as their development over the years and finds it all really interesting. She doesn't think it's a bad thing to talk about but then, she's noticed, that some people here always assume the worst of everyone.

It's sad.]

[Rude's starting to think he's made a mistake in engaging here at all. It wasn't supposed to be some drawn-out thing and now he's getting questions that naturally raise his already pretty high guard. Not that he can't understand what guides the question but openness with people he doesn't know just isn't who he is.

And having people question that certainly doesn't help.]

Answer is what it is.

[And really, he thinks his answer is more helpful than a straight yes or no in this instance. But if it's not good enough? He's not going to stick around and force himself to endure further questioning along a line he has no reason to tough out.

He did what he intended. Time for him to go see if he can't track down a certain redhead and remember what he actually came to this thing for.]

Can I please have your name before you go?

[Airy asks quickly hoping she hasn't bothered him to much. It'd been selfish on her part. She'd been looking for something to talk about, some distraction to keep her thoughts away from the depressing turn they've been taking.]

I'm Airy... Sorry if I was rude. I really am happy- er, thankful for the turtle. Even if you just didn't want it.

[It's enough to pause his stride, though it takes a moment longer for him to decide to relent. Introductions are tricky at times, but in the end he decides it's not the end of the world if he's misinterpreted.

He spares a look over his shoulder, just long enough for him to reply.]

It's Rude.

[And he won't offer any further explanation before he steps away. He's answered the question asked of him; whether he's believed or not is out of his hands where he isn't invested enough to clarify.]

[Airy just stares after him wondering who would name their child Rude.]
