It's a dangerous thing, following Smoker. It makes him want to tackle him again. It also makes him want to sneak off and see if Smoker will come looking. But that's a dumb thing. Of course Smoker wouldn't. He'd just shrug and do something else because that was part of the game, wasn't it? To see who wanted the other more? To control the other more?

Except Smoker did like him too or so he said until he didn't. And he...he could show it... and wanted to hold hands?

Well whatever.

Ace wanted attention so he makes an attempt to swipe Smoker's cuffs]

[Smoker would absolutely go looking.]

[Dumbass.]

[He grabs Ace by the wrist and glares hard.]

Don't.

[Low growl.]

[It's like a bolt going straight through him. He's seen and heard Smoker like this before but for some reason right in this instant it's exciting. To have his full pissed attention. The dangerous growl that rolls through him.

well fuck me he thinks. please

He licks his lower lip and tries not to squirm, instead, tilting his head to look up at him and grinning. His voice feels molten as it slides out of him]

What are you gonna do if I do?

[Smoker could tell the mood shift. The mischievous "I want attention," from what he'd taken as pure piracy before. His eyes narrowed all the same time and he carefully moved Portgas' wrist away. It needed to be something serious, but most of them would completely destroy the brat's mood.\

[He smirked instead and moved to nip the brat's earblobe, whispering in a smooth tone:] You should be more concerned about what I won't do, should you find out.

[he breathes out without meaning to, tilting his head to the voice and letting out a little breath]

Ah...you are evil... [he leans in and slips his hand into Smoker's back pocket] What will you do if I don't?

[SMIRKS EAR TO EAR and gestures his thumb to the haunted house, dropping his voice low and trailing his tongue down Portgas' jawline, silently mentally chiding himself for doing any of this.]

I'll make sure you're damn well rewarded. With just enough of a threat to always remind you not to go too far.

Oh yeah? [tilts his head again to the lick, shivering and then slipping his hand free of Smoker's pocket, walking backwards but towards the haunted house]

And what makes you think you'll be so addicting. [though with the hooded eyed expression Ace probably gave himself away. Oops]

[Watching walking ahead with a small smirk, and both hands in his own pockets.]

I don't.

But when I get angry enough I shut down entirely. And I think you're too curious to want to see that.

[Man, he REALLY should not be thinking about shoving Ace against a haunted house wall and kissing him into shutting up.]

[Should not at all.]

[that threw him a little, but he smiled, mimicking Smoker's pose with his hands in his own pockets]

It's not curiosity, Taisa... I don't like to see you broken.

I don't break, brat. [EYEROLL.]

[Also he demands that Ace stop being cute. It's not like it makes him protective and gooey inside. Except it's definitely uncomfortably exactly like that.]

Then I don't like to be shut out.

[though Smoker does. Ace knows it. He doesn't mind Smoker knowing his own vulnerability even though it might and probably will happen more than once. But he wants to get back to the other topic which is more fun.

He stops and lets Smoker catch up to him before running a hand over his stomach and inside his jacket]

I prefer to stay where it's warm.

[Smoker is just.... very quiet for a little bit.]

[But then, without even taking his hands out of his pockets, leans over to whisper in Ace's ear.]

That's funny, so do I.

[makes a low appreciative noise and leans up to press his lips against Smoker's before backing away and heading to the haunted house.]

Come on then. [follow him. Burn his neck with your eyes. Don't let him out of your sight for even a moment]

[He grunts quietly at the kiss, and follows along. Oh he will burn you as good as it gets. At least the most he can. And then some.]

[instead of going in the front way, Ace sneaks around the back, putting a finger to his lips before opening the back door. He may have already lurked this way before. Inside are the sounds of screams and moans as he leads Smoker through the fog and gloom and dim lighting.

There's a long drawn out moan and a rattling of chains]

Sounds like someone's having fun.

[AND HIS EARS JUST GO SO PINK AND HE'S SO GLAD ACE CAN'T SEE IT RIGHT NOW.]

Just try to blend in.

[Which he doubts.]
