Firefly Masquerade!

Who: Open to anyone who wants to attend
What: A Masquerade! Complete with masks, costumes, music and food.
WhenSaturday August 20th 8pm-midnight

[a field near the fairgrounds has been cleared away and set up into a tastefully decorated outdoor ball. There are balloons, trellises crawling with summer flowers and white holiday lights carved white chairs and tables, and a buffet table heavy with food. In the center is a beautiful wood dance floor in front of an amphitheater in which a small band complete with singer plays a variety of songs. Some instrumental, some not. Feel free to request or take the stage for yourself!

Dance the night away and at midnight get ready to pull of your masks and basks in the dazzling fireworks display bursting overhead.

[Terra laughs softly.]

Yes but they rarely ask questions that demand a response.

That's not always a bad thing.

[Sometimes it helped to just be able to get it all out, to know you weren't going to be judged, that someone's opinion of you wasn't going to change. Sure the flowers may not have been able to answer back, but not having all of that weight upon your shoulders was freeing.]

Yes but sometimes having people to talk to is nice.

[She smiles at Cloud.]

Would you like something to drink?

[meteorrains]

Guess it's a good thing we have each other.

[Cloud. Do you ever actually stop and think about the words that come out of your mouth before you say them?

No?

Of course not.]

[greenmagick]

It is.

[Terra smiles at him before heading off to grab them two drinks. When she returns she hands a shimmering glass of champagne to Cloud and then takes a sip of her own.]

Parties are more fun with friends.

[meteorrains]

[Look at you be all fancy, Terra. Getting champagne when he was expecting poorly spiked punch.]

You sound like Tifa.

[There's a definite hint of fondness in his voice as he says it.]

[Terra smiles, recognizing the affection tone in his voice.]

Who's that?

[meteorrains]

A friend from home.

[Also known as the reason he always ended up at these sorts of things, even when he'd much rather be at home.]

[Terra's expression softens.]

It sounds like a good friend.

[She looks back out at the ball, noting those moving across the dance floor.]

You should go have fun. That's why you're here right?

[meteorrains]

Yeah. She is.

[His gaze falls away, turning instead to those who are milling around, pursuing the vast buffet table or twirling upon the dance floor. Everyone looked so happy, as if there was no where else they'd rather be.

There's a soft sound of amusement at her question.]

I'm here because Tifa wouldn't leave me alone until I agreed to come. [Seriously, Terra, do you think he would have picked out this mask on his own?] What about you?

[Terra just smiles and continues to watch those milling about around them.]

I like seeing people happy.
